From the moment we arrived Sue and the team could not do enough for us. We arrived at 07:30 and Sue had a room available for us to check in at a very reasonable rate. The grounds were immaculate and is a slice of a jungle oasis in Johannesburg. Rooms were cleaned daily to a great standard. The hotel feels extremely safe and the security guards on duty are attentive and caring This is my first time to Johannesburg and I will definitely be returning.

Thoroughly enjoyed staying here. The team was very welcoming and enthusiastic, ensuring I immediately felt at ease. Set in a very quiet, beautiful garden, the room was very comfortable. The hotel is also very conveniently located to Sadton, Rosebank and Melrose Arch. And a great breakfast was served.

We weren't sure about how we would be feeling after the long flights from NZ so we wanted to be someone where comfortable where we could have a good sleep in. We looked for somewhere that looked, safe, comfy, close to some food and near our safari pick up which started two day later. This place checked all the boxes. The bed was soo comfy and the pool lovely. We had a great breakfast- though we weren't sure what we could order and were jealous when we saw others with a fry up haha. Some nice guests shared a bottle of champers with us (for breakfast!). Lovely place- more expensive than we would usually book but it was our honeymoon after all. They helped us book a soweto tour which was fun too.

We stayed here for a night while in transit in Johannesburg and were so pleasantly surprised! The owner, Sue, is wonderful and so helpful, as is the entire staff. The rooms are spacious and have everything we need. The location is great, near everything, and there's a lovely garden surrounding the rooms, making it seem like a little oasis from the city. Jasmine was blooming right outside our door. Breakfast is included and it was great, eggs made to order, toast, fruit, coffee, and served with a smile. We were so happy with this lodging, we returned for 2 more nights at the end of our trip before returning to the US. We would definitely stay here again

An absolute gem in a pleasant suburb of Johannesburg. Sue and her delightful staff make you feel part of their Melrose family. Their kindness and care knew no bounds. My room was elegant, clean and bright and the breakfast was great. I also used the Conference Centre which I would highly recommend for any business needs. Big shout out too to the gardeners too as the gardens are a peaceful oasis of calm and green in a busy city.

I loved my room, clean, comfortable and had everything I needed. The room also nicely decorated, big and on point. Nice balcony for me to exercise from in the morning was a plus. I would recommend and I can go back stay there with o hesitation.

I cannot write more highly about all the staff at Melrose Place. Our flight was significantly delayed coming in and we got a message that the chef has cooked us dinner for when we arrive so we have less to worry about. Everyone was so friendly and helpful both with touring advice but also safety tips like not taking marked taxis. The garden was beautiful and the room was nice.

I had the chance to stay 2 days in this establishment during a family trip. The staff is very nice and accommodating. We were 11 people and we received an excellent welcome. The evening meals are very good and homemade, with a vegetarian version each time. The establishment is secure. It also has a swimming pool but I didn't have time to test it. The rooms are spacious and clean. The bathrooms are huge. Each room is equipped with a hair dryer and French sockets. We have suffered the power cuts that occur regularly in the country but the establishment is equipped with a generator which allows us to keep the lights and emergency sockets. I recommend this property if you have to stay in Johannesburg.
