Rooms are all spacious and well fitted, although the light controls and especially TV controls take a bit getting used to. Service was OK, staff at restaurant sometimes seemed a bit frazzled by simple requests. For example ordering two of the same drink at the same time but having them delivered 10-15 minutes apart. That being said food was pretty good once it arrived. Internet went out during our stay and it was impossible to reach front desk at times. Not sure how this happens but not answering phones for in house guests is unacceptable. A lot of constriction also going on, indoor restaurant non existent and one of the pools closed. Food is served in what seems like a temporary space. Not sure I'd recommend this hotel unless you must be in Johannesburg and specifically in that area.

The property had beautiful gardens, A Great Spa with amazing products, The food was delicious, Outdoor dining space was great. The Staff was super kind and helpful at all times. The butler service worked very well compared with many other properties. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and great wifi to work.

Hi there ....how i wish i can fast forward the days and stop at December because definately wow and im looking forward to take my family there, it was very nice ....it such a nice place to chill on ...Everything was on point i can't lie i enjoyed cant complain

We were only there for one night, but staff is excellent, rooms are perfect. We were traveling from Cape Town to Madagascar and needed a spot for about 20 hours. Breakfasts were great, dinnners, a bit confusing. Hit and miss, but the property is beautiful. Larger hotel, a bit corporate but not too bad.

I always stay at the Saxon upon arrival and prior to departure from JNB when going on safari. It is my all time favorite hotel and is always excellent in every regard. I usually travel solo and the staff always take excellent care of me. The spa is wonderful and I had an excellent facial that restored my skin after 25 + hours on a plane. Whether in a villa room , or a smaller room off the main pool and restaurant area like I did last month( due to a disability) , the amenities, hospitality and attention to detail is amazing. I cannot wait to return. Thank you Masood and Molly for your warm greetings!

Wow, wow and wow! Such an elegant and amazing Hotel! The staff were all very professional and knowledgeable with the information on the many beautiful artworks around this beautiful Hotel. I’m very hard to please but this Hotel is outrageously exquisite! Sadly we could only stay 1 night in the Presidential Suite which was absolutely fabulous! Every little touch of the amenities was carefully arranged and presented, the room service breakfast was outstanding..best ever! The grounds were immaculate and the service from every staff member was exceptional! We are definitely coming back to stay and this time longer! Such a beautiful Hotel, just wished we could’ve stayed longer! Thank you to everyone at The Saxon!

The best service we experienced in 50 years! The accommodations, food and especially the staff are excellent! We were planning to stay 2 nights after spending 10 days on safari, then our flight was canceled and we were rebooked 3 days later. The staff was awesome, I think the entire staff knew our flight was cancelled and they couldn't do enough for us. The grounds, spa, bar, common areas are impeccable. Special shout out to Jason, Expert, Morgan, Philip and the entire bar staff! Hopefully we'll get to visit this special place again.

Truly an amazing hotel with extraordinary, and highly accommodating service— certainly the best in Johannesburg! We stayed twice (with Amex FHR) on a recent trip and were upgraded to the Presidential suite, which is more like a luxury apartment. Unlike other FHR properties they take it seriously, with exceptional amenities as well as the upgrade. We previously stayed many times at the Westcliff but will not stay anywhere but the Saxon in the future.

Excellent service and facilities. The welcome experience was outstanding with Obakeng at the Welcome Desk. Robert provided exceptional service. Food quality was excellent. A high degree of professionalism across all departments. The hotel was very clean both in the room and public areas including the pool area.
