I was looking for an authentic, local experience that was close to nature and the Princesa was all of this and more. We had a large room and a lovely terrace with hammocks overlooking the rainforest. We opted for the dinner the first night which was my favorite dining experience in Costa Rica. We ate on the large terrace next to the jungle with sounds of birds and other animals all around us. The food was plentiful and delicious and the service was extremely warm. The next morning we enjoyed breakfast there and didn’t adventure tour with Anderson who took us to a beautiful waterfall and introduced us to dozens of local plants and some animals. It was one of the highlights of our trip. The lodge is rustic but you are in the midst of a rainforest which is what we wanted. As someone who spends over 100 nights in hotels a year, staying someplace like the Princesa de la Luna was a refreshing change. It is a great place for those who seek somewhere off the beaten path.

2nd visit to this wonderfully relaxed establishment, its quiet and peaceful, lots of lush plantings everywhere. We managed to hike down to the there waterfall , and was able to get within 15-20 feet of its base, you can get showered under the falls but I’d suggest you have them provide you a guided tour if you really want the full waterfall and river hike experience. We also visited both of their river side pools, both are downhill from the main property, one pool looks more natural and the other is more elegant. We were the only ones at the pools the 3 times we visited. We ate breakfast and dinner on property every day. Our meals were served family style and all were delicious. We sure had our fill of fresh fruits and fruit juice. Staff was attentive and sincere, we enjoyed interacting with them and they made our experience more enjoyable and more Costa Rican. There suggestion on activities were spot on , we did the pure trek canyoning which was just up the hill only a couple of minutes away , so almost no travel time and pure trek provided a exciting and professionally run operation. They also provided a great recommendation for a hot springs, we had done baldi in the past and it was great as an outing for international visitors, this time at our request they provided a recommendation on a visiting a hot springs that locals Costa Rican might visit. One of our party speaks fluent Spanish, so it was easy, And we really enjoyed our visit to the hot springs. Moral of the story, explain what you want and listen to their suggestions And the view of arenal Volcano was inspiring. All in our party enjoyed our time spent at Princessa de la Luna

My friends and I had an incredible stay at the Princesa de la Luna Ecolodge. Nearby trails take you effortlessly to two different pools and a gorgeous waterfall. The workers have invested significant time and energy into making Princesa de la Luna the most gorgeous area around. Breakfast accommodations are easily made at the main lodge, or you can walk just a minute downhill to Chichas Restaurant & Bar. The Ecolodge is just far enough from downtown La Fortuna to feel isolated from city-life without giving up the convenience of a nearby town. I would definitely return for another stay!

We had the greatest time at the ecolodge. William and his staff went above and beyond and made the experience so wonderful. We had the breakfast and dinner two nights and all of our meals were fresh and delicious. We also joined William on the jungle walk and would say it was one of our favorite parts of our stay! The property is lush and beautiful, truly a very special place. Couldn’t recommend it enough!

Wow what a beautiful stay. William as a host was incredible. He offered an adventure trek around the local jungle to the lodge + lots of insight into the plants/ fruits growing, stomping in the river, swimming in the waterfall and having a mud bath at the end - fantástico! He helped organise our canyoning excursion, coffee/chocolate tour, plus a taxi when we wanted to head into La Fortuna (only 15 mins .. ask him anything!) We enjoyed breakfast every morning… deliciously fresh! And we had dinner one evening too - highly recommend the food, the accommodation (lovely views & comfortable rustic jungle feel) & the service from William as a host. Thank you William for looking after us so well… we hope to be back soon! Pura Vida

We stayed with a group of 11 people and it was the best experience I have ever had on any vacation. I was worried about the no AC thing but you don’t need it, trust me!! Windows open, fan on, I was cold at night. I loved waking up to the birds and walking out into a tropical paradise watching all of the birds…. Bring binoculars. The adventure hike was awesome and then you can walk down to the waterfall whenever you want. The food is amazing and the people even more amazing. William and Gretthl were family and we were sad to leave them. William does everything for you- like a personal assistant. He picked us up from a tour and we asked if it was possible to book an ATV tour last minute and he immediately called 3 places to find us a spot. He drove us anywhere we wanted to go and always checked that we were having a good time. Out of any tour we did (5-6), the team at Princessa were the friendliest of them all. William even entertained my 2 year old in the water when he was scared of the waterfall so my husband and I could go explore. They found us all kinds of frogs, even during dinner. I can write on and on about this trip. I would go back in a heart beat. It felt like home.

La Princesa de la Luna in La Fortuna, Costa Rica was perfect - right size for our three generations, excellent location, and beautiful. Our stay was even better because of William and his staff. Everyone was helpful and congenial. William’s knowledge, flexibility, and warmth made our stay and our adventure exceptional. Highly Recommend. Thank you William.

Princesa de la Luna Ecolodge never disappoints. It is the perfect balance as it is nestled in the rainforest with plenty of privacy, but is still close to the center of la Fortuna and offers several excursions. There are two pools and a wonderful waterfall within a short walk (15 minutes or less) from the lodge. The waterfall is perfect to play, relax, and cool off and is exclusive to the lodge. The staff are incredibly warm and friendly, and keep the hotel and grounds pristine. I have visited a few times over the past 10 years, and always highly recommend this place to everyone. It is family-friendly, but also perfect for frineds and for couples. Princesa de la Luna is gorgeous, peaceful, clean, and unique. It is the perfect place to experience La Fortuna, Costa Rica.

We wanted an authentic rainforest experience and that is exactly what we received! We went with three families with teenagers. The teenagers kept saying this was there favorite vacation they have ever went on. The host,William, was an absolute gem and accommodated our family’s needs effortlessly. We stayed here for 5 nights and we were sad to leave. All of the meals were delicious, we enjoyed all of our excursions, and all 13 of us were able to get a glorious massage during our stay. An extra bonus was a bar within walking distance of the hotel that the adults could go to get a drink and unwind from the day. The morning tour of the property was one of my families favorite activities. We will definitely come back here!
