I can't say enough good things about this hotel. My wife and I took our honeymoon here and it was exactly what we wanted. Each and every staff member was attentive, kind, and eager to help. (special shout-out to Samantha for helping us find the best restaurants and even making reservations for us). Everything felt peaceful and modern. From breakfast delivered to our room where we ate on our sun-soaked balcony, to their top-tier spa, every moment was perfect and we WILL be returning!

I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. I have high expectations for a hotel that holds themselves out to be luxury with luxury prices. The front desk was rude and the rooms were sparse. The first night the air conditioning didn't work and we didn't have hot water. They moved us to another room the next day. When I asked for a refund for the first night the front desk tried to negotiate with me for a "reduced" rate instead of doing the right thing and not charging us for such an unpleasant experience. Any other reputable hotel would have not charged the first night. I have learned my lesson and for almost the same amount of money I would stay at the Rosewood or the Numu down the street. I think the front desk just tried to take advantage of two women traveling alone which does not reflect well on the management.

Lovely hotel with great art installations . Beds and rooms very comfortable and quiet . Restaurant had very tasty food Only wish was better language skills among wait staff . Front office was very good and organized some good activities for us

Super cute hotel in a great location. The entire staff was lovely and we truly enjoyed our time there! The room was clean and super cute, loved all the bath products as well. The team was super helpful at setting up dinners, airport transport, and giving us info on all the local things to do. The hotel is also filled with unique art and it matches so well this adorable town.

5/5 would stay here again. Very attentive staff and very serene hotel. 100% can recommend the chilaquiles which Gabi lovingly prepares for breakfast some mornings. Lovely koi pond near massage rooms/wellness center was a great surprise

Terrible experience. We booked for two nights March 16th thru 18th. Room was terrible with big wall and nothing to look out. Service is terrible. Continental breakfast with juice, tea, coffee, toast everything else la carte. We paid $700 for this room. What a waste??? This meant to be happy weekend for me and my wife. My wife called asking for tea bags and they said its on charge basis we requested iron in the room. Two bottle of water. Anymore water 50 pesos or 3 dollars. Nickle and dime customer who is paying Usd 700 per nite. In salsa there was hair. Sawed to the server. She said sorry. No manager to address. Maybe we ate expecting more from luxurious place which is equal to motel 6 service. 😊😊😊

Excellent boutique hotel, centrally located, great service, and very good spa. The restaurant was also top notch!! Also had a great bed with high end bedding. They helped us with many extra needs including transportation, deliveries, directions and reservations. Highly recommended!

There are few hotels in the world like the Hotel Matilda. From the architecture to the serenity (the only sounds you'll hear will be birds and rustling leaves from the trees above), to the spacious plushy rooms,Matilda is ideal. The Michelin-starred restaurant, Moxie, is so worth trying, the soothing spa will have you too relaxed to move, and the staff and GM are all so helpful and friendly. They all went out of their way for me EVERY TIME. When I told Concierge Gustavo Lopez that I wanted to learn more about the gigantic dolls they call Mojigngas, he gave me the address, San Francisco St. where they make them. (All the San Miguel de Allenders with whom I spoke didn't know that). An extraordinary experience The hotel is blocks form the main square and a few blocks from a gorgeous park. The rooms are spotless, the amenities are high-end, and there's no better place to stay at this UNESCO Word Heritage city. The only thing I hated was leaving.

Hotel Matilda was absolutely one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. The staff was so friendly, accommodating and helpful. The room was spotless, modern and exquisite. It is very centrally located and you are able to walk everywhere. The front reception staff were extremely welcoming and guided you to wherever you wanted to go. We will definitely go there again and strongly recommend the property.
