Motel 6 San Luis Obispo, CA - North

Just an ok Motel 6, was disappointed the room smelled like someone smoked in it, but I find that's pretty common in Motel 6's. Room was missing shampoo, but other than the smell and the shampoo was just ok. Furniture was a bit beaten up. We picked the hotel because all the others close to Cal Poly were booked, and Cal Poly was offering a shuttle from this location for their open house day, so it was convenient in that respect.

Hey it's a motel off the freeway, so set your expectations. The cleaning was done quickly, they missed a spot inside the toilet lid, and the sink had a film on it, so I did a clean up with a washcloth & soap & water. The floors were tacky so dirt stuck immediately, and there was dried gum on the window curtain. The good news is the mattress is new, sheets & towels were clean, shower was clean. We had a 2nd floor room facing the back & mountains so it wasn't so loud. Heads up if you book through hotels dot com /exped__ they might not see your res easily so have your confirmation number with you and/or call to confirm after you make the reservation. It's a convenient location, Whole Foods, Trader Joes 1 block away for grab & go food & good coffee/tea/juice. Quick to drive to coast and downtown SLO.
