Although they were kind at the front desk, we had a lackluster experience at this hotel. When entering our hotel hallway, there was a strong smell… it almost smelled like a skunk. The room just didn’t feel clean—although they had hip images on the wall the property and bathroom felt dated and it was a depressing view outside our window to the parking lot. My expectations were high given the room rate! When I had originally booked this hotel we were paying $550 a night (via the hotel’s website for a one night Saturday night stay). Closer to the date I checked again and managed to get our rate at $370 a night (I cancelled our original reservation). This was still far too much given the lovely property we stayed near Yosemite and in Santa Monica that were just a bit more than this one. I’m just relieved it was a short overnight stay here.

Perfect stay with a good sea view in the evening, comfy bedding, large room space, smart tv and good service. I would highly recommend this hotel for your stay on your road trip. It would be even nicer if I could have arrived early( I arrived around 8pm and didn’t have much time enjoying the hot tub and the beach) and morning view was foggy. Breakfast was okay (i thought that would be some meats). Overall I love this place a lot!!! (Oh also the room price dropped around $60 three days before i arrived so I rebooked it make sure you check the price when your trip is approaching) 这个酒店的电视可以投屏真的很不错!!

I am writing this review at 4:20 AM. I have not slept a wink. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in my lifetime. The walls are paper thin and there is no sound proofing. My 250 a night bed might as well have been placed on the highway! The sound of passing traffic on 101 was endless. If that was not enough the person in the adjacent room was snoring all night and only the sound of the passing cars could drown it. To add to the chorus the person the floor above was trying to get their steps - pacing back and forth in the room but not before showering at 3:30am. The water sound lasted for about 15 mins. Now it is the thuds from the pacing, passing traffic and snoring. Oh yes and if the heating/cooling system in adjacent rooms came on then some more ratting pipe sounds kept other sounds company. If you are a light sleeper then do not come here or come with enough sedatives! Also Hilton honors status gives you no advantage. For my elite status I was not offered any freebies at check-in. I had to go back and ask for it! Very disappointed.

Nice modern newer hotel in Atascadero, convenient for visiting Paso Robles, Morro Bay, SLO and Avila Beach (as long as you have a car). Minutes from the 101. PROS: Plenty of free parking, well lit. Modern, clean, newer hotel with up-to-date decor. Friendly front-desk person. Pool, gym, business center and breakfast included. Nice spacious breakfast area. Wall Street Journal available in lobby. Quiet stay until our last night when we had to call the front desk twice when a rabble of people were being very loud on our floor after 'Quiet Hours'. Vending machines and small shop with essentials available downstairs. CONS: I was not impressed that they don't offer housekeeping/a room refresh unless you're staying more than 5 days, although there was the option to ask for new towels at the front desk. When you're paying around the $200/night mark, you expect to come back at the end of a busy day to have at least your bed made and the room refreshed. I was told that 'People like the fact nobody enters the room while they're gone'. While this is one advantage, this is basically post-Covid corporate greed speak for 'It's a good excuse to not spend money and hire people to clean and make back some money we lost'. If I don't get my room cleaned, I might as well rent a room in someone's house through an on-line app. Breakfast food was your typical hotel chain buffet with sugary yogurts, cheap breads/bagels, rubbery eggs, brown spotted bananas, etc. When are hotels going to start offering more quality food? At least it's something to put in your belly before you go out for the day and you don't have to traipse the streets looking for breakfast. All-day coffee and tea in the lobby would be a nice touch like some other chains offer. I found the bathroom dimly lit, despite a light around the mirror. The light in the room was more natural for applying make-up. If you found this review useful, please click the thank button.

So after a long day of driving south on Pacific 1, both wifey and I were weary and happy to see the Morgan Hotel sign as we came out of the mountains. When we walked into the lobby, there was nice music playing and we were greeted by friendly staff. The room presents nicely when you walk in hence the nice photos online. Then you start seeing the signs of age. The small fridge was very old and door would not close properly. There is no microwave in the room. There was a table fan provided and it was ok to keep you semi cool during the night. Honestly when driving down the Pacific 1, we found it was a common theme when you are close to the ocean so maybe it's not a thing but we found it very strange not having AC in the room. Pros Easy to get to once you emerge from the mountains. It is in San Simeon which is basically a community of hotels. Free parking Pet friendly Comfortable bed and pillows Our room had a fireplace and super comfy couch. Updated bathroom Very nice pool area and breakfast area Cons Very bad internet. I could not even get my laptop to connect! We were at the end of the hall so that may have been part of the cause. I'm a computer guy so internet is important to me. When I finally did get to connect, the speed was less than 1Mbps. This is barely enough to check your email these days. The room was very empty and could easily handle getting rid of the little round side table and adding a nice coffee table in front of the couch OR adding a desk and chair. The room is large but the space is poorly utilized. The TV and remote are a throwback to the 80's. The remote is so old that the finish was rubbing off the back. No sleep timer on the TV. As others have stated the breakfast is terrible. There is basically yogurt and bagels. Nothing is hot, no eggs, no bacon, no sausage. There is ample room to provide a typical continental breakfast and this is the first hotel we've stayed at on our 12 day highway 1 adventure that provided such a bad breakfast. Even the bare basic Best Western hotels have a superior breakfast experience. Summary If you just staying a night and don't care about internet or breakfast, this was a nice clean, reasonably priced hotel with a comfy bed and pillows and clean bathroom.

BbyudgA very new hotel, the room is large and the bed is very comfortable. We stayed in a barrier-free room, the cloak hook, the position of the toiletries was very low, considering the height of the disabled wheelchair, the shower room was very strange, and the cold water was sprayed on me. The hotel has a swimming pool, but the water temperature is not very high. jesse at the front desk is very friendly and helps us solve the problem of foreigners charging the car locally. The three old breakfasts are traditional dishes of Huanpeng, and they are eaten again every day.

GGuest UserI stayed at Spyglass Inn with my 11 yo daughter, my cousin, and her 10 yo. The girls enjoyed the hot tub and pool and we really LOVED the fire pit area. It was so beautiful outside with the flowers, the view and walking path. We got to make smores and watch the sunset! We did have an incident with our initial room where there were a bunch of gnats or flies, but the hotel staff responded quickly and moved our room. This was a bummer because that room felt more updated and had partial ocean view. We ended up in a lower level room with a nice back patio. It wasn't as updated as the first room, but it was still nice and did what we needed it too, which was to provide us a comfortable place to sleep. The room was bug free and there was enough space for the four of us. I wouldn't say it was the best room we've ever been in but overall it was fine. There is a portable fan, wifi, small fridge, desk, and chair, drawers for clothes if needed, and a tv. The TV was terrible quality BUT who needs a tv while you're on vacation anyways lol Lastly, it was quiet for us. We had no issues with noise. They have a microwave in the lobby and some free refreshments (coffee, tea, water). You can also purchase snacks from them. We would stay again specifically for the customer service and the outside fire pit area. Also, parking was included which was very much appreciated.

GGuest UserThis hotel was able to accommodate our request for a roll-away bed, which was what we needed. The queen beds are comfortable, and the bathroom is perfect: sink is outside of the shower/toilet room. There doesn't seem to be any air conditioning (only a heater), so the room gets stuffy unless you leave the window open (which lets in outside sound, too). This did not bother us at all. We all slept comfortably. We were in a downstairs ”balcony room”, which doesn't get a great view of the Rock, just partial view. If you want a view, request a balcony room in the upper floor (but you will have to carry all your luggage up stairs). There was minor thumping from the upstairs room, only occasionally, and it never bothered us. The sound insulation is pretty good. The breakfast is not that great, but they do have a waffle maker, which can be fun for kids. The only yogurt they have is ”Trix” yogurt. I presume this is for kids...neon colored, sugary... However, there is some fresh fruit, cereals, milk, juice, assorted rolls, and chocolate muffins (for the kids, I guess). This is sufficient fuel to get going in the morning. The mini-fridge is very mini. The microwave and fridge are in the closet. Strange, but they work. There is a pretty cool hot tub room to relax in, but this is not really that important to me to have on trips. All-in-all, this is a good, clean, hotel, that had everything we needed for our short stay in Morro Bay.

GGuest UserWe stopped here for a night and were pleasantly surprised. The room was very clean and comfortable with a big comfortable bed, probably one of the most comfortable beds of our trip and we've stayed in more expensive accommodations on this trip It's always good when one fine's somewhere like this. It was excellent value and would definitely stay again if we were in the area.

GGuest UserFront desk personnel was very friendly and attentive. The room, hmm. Clean but beat up. And broken. The fireplace did not work. Big bummer. Maintenance got it working, but if we turned it ff, it would not go back on. So, it was a one shot deal. Plus, you never want to have to call in maintenance once you are already in the room. Its just uncomfortable. The window opened on ground level to parking lot two feet from window. One window did not lock at all. Cobwebs hanging from ceiling I have these at home, but don't expect cobwebs at a hotel. The fan in the bathroom did not work. So it got very stuffy in there and never dried out from shower. Overall, I would not book here again. there are plenty of other hotel Inns along this stretch of beach, all with the same excellent location.

VVelasquezMy experience here was great! First, it was super clean! That’s what’s most important to everyone right? The bathrooms were so clean that the floors were shining. I was so impressed with the size of the room too. It was so spacious that it at least 3 different seating areas. The breakfast was good too. We knew it was a brown bag due to Covid but honestly it was ok because they fill up your bag with so many goodies. We didn’t use the pool but we did view it and it was also very clean and very well maintained. The front desk was very polite and helpful when I asked for suggestions for restaurants. My nephew moved to SLO and this was the reason for our trip. We’ve decided this will be our hotel every time we visit. We were very impressed.

GGuest UserFirst, I want to say Thumb Up to the manager that actually read this column and corrected the breakfast complaint by getting the HI famous Cinnamon Rolls back to the breakfast menu. Our family of 4 stayed 1 night after visiting Santa Barbara and Solvang. Check in is speedy because we did the online check in. We are assigned to the Chablis building on second floor Room 200 and I actually paid extra to have balcony as this is our first time staying in hotel after the pandemic. For 2 years, we haven’t the confidence to travel and stay in hotel till recently all members in the family are fully vaccinated with my husband and I have our booster shot and the 2 teenagers have at least 2 shots as well as the pandemic seem not to morph into common flu. Spacious room and love that a built in area that one can open the luggage easily and there are built in hanger/hook that we can hang hat, jacket and handbag! I found this feature also in the HI Fisherman Wharf. Front desk person is responsive to needs after entered into room, we needed extra towels and a razor though we didn’t received in the room because delivered to the wrong room and we had to walk back to lobby to get them. I am glad that the front desk communicated to us why the items not delivered. We understand the mistake but we appreciate the communication so we know that the items are delivered except to the wrong room. Might want to send someone to fix the handle of the drawers on the bottom, loose and crooked to the side of pulled. Also, the bath tub handle, the water came out from top and bottom this the water pressure very low coming out from the shower head, this needs fixing. Sorry, we should have told the front desk when we checked out. Love the newly added cinnamon rolls and they have the auto made pancake! Hooray, you bring back one of the most significant features of HI complimentary breakfast! I am not sure I am being greedy to ask for waffles in the future? No need self made, just pre-made a small batch, don’t use the bought from store pre-made as we can taste frozen and fresh from waffle iron. That is if can accommodate as I am waffle rather than pancake eater. Overall, LOVE this property and highly recommend if you are visiting Solvang, Santa Barbara or SLO, stop at this property as the management does seem to care about the comfort of the guests and actually reading this column to see can improve. For this, please support this property if you are around the area visiting and need a place to rest. It is a very nice hotel!

GGuest UserWe booked our hotel room here based off of reviews on Kayak.com...we were looking for a reasonably priced room close to Morro Rock. Our experience here was great! The room was very clean and auiet, and while some might consider it on the small side, it was perfect for 2 of us and a medium-sized dog with all of our stuff (including a surfboard and large cooler). It’s a very pet friendly hotel, there were many doggies staying there while we were and the hotel staff gave us a little doggie goodie bag! Our interactions with hotel staff were infrequent but always friendly. We had a room on the 2nd floor in the rear of the hotel, which afforded us a fantastic view of Morro Rock (when the fog wasn’t covering it). I was disappointed to learn that the pool wasn’t heated and therefore not open for swimming while we were there...but at least I was able to walk 5 minutes to the beach at Morro Rock to surf! It was about a 20 minute stroll from the shops & restaurants in downtown Morro Bay to the hotel...not bad at all. I would definitely recommend the Motel 6 to anyone looking for an affordable place to stay while in Morro Bay!

GGuest UserI booked this hotel room online using our vacation travel website. I checked the photos and the reviews. This room did not match either. First, the room had a musty smell. We noticed that wall paper was peeling in places. The tv didn't work, even after they replaced the HDMI cord. There were no bedspreads on the beds-only cheap blankets. There was sand on my sheets. The headboard was torn in several places. There was mold in the bathroom ceiling. There was no lamp between the beds. The mattresses and pillows were cheap and uncomfortable. But the final straw was the glass in the carpet in front of the sliding glass door. We didn't see it at night, but in the morning the sun was shining on it. Fortunately, no one cut their feet. I called the front desk to express my displeasure. They said the manager was out, but would call me back later. I asked for someone to come to the room, so I could show them what I was talking about. The handyman came. I showed him the problems. He appeared sympathetic. I asked about the manager or owner. He said his truck was there, and he was usually there. When I went down to check out, I again asked to speak to the manager. Again, they said he was out. I think they just flat out lied. I wrote out my complaints and said I would like a refund for the 1 night I stayed. I said I had taken photos. Again, they said that they could not refund me unless the manager approved it. I waited a week and he never called, so I called my credit card company and filed a dispute. I did ask for a different room, but they said they were full. I would have left, but it was a holiday weekend, and everything else nearby was also booked up.
