Type of visit: Company Outing Visits: 2x in May, 2x in June Rooms: comfortable but not that spacious. AC is working. Loft type rooms were not that cold. There were other rooms that AC was not working. The rooms that are good for 7 was a hassle in using bathrooms and enjoying the AC. Water supply is not consistent. The warm is too hot. Showers are old. There were no soaps or shampoo offered. Just standard toothbrush and toothpaste. No TV, which is a no no. Wifi signal ranges from zero to poor. No phone to contact reception or housekeeping. You have to go outside and find a staff, raise your concerns, and they will radio someone to come to your room. No clinic. Just a nurse, who will come to you if you need assistance. Staff does not greet you when you meet them. No warm smiles. Pool: enough and has 5ft. Very small area for kids part. There is a bar near the pool. Cabanas are old. Pools looks old. The trees are haven. The beach is a plus. This is San Juan Beach so just a few walks from the shore, the water goes deep. There are water activities but you have to engage with them separately. Restaurant is old. Fans and lights were not working. They have no bigger fans. Just standard house fans if you request one. There were bigger flies around the food. There were times of power outage. Power comes back after an hour. Roaming dogs and cats who sit near you. Parking is limited. There is an elevator but you still need to walk a few steep stairs.

BEACH FRONT – Really nice! The beach is kid-friendly. The shore isn’t too far out and the waves aren’t too strong either. However…. ROOM – The room was comfortable, but one of the air conditioning units (Kamagong - F) was already old. Because of its age, it struggled to cool the room. The showers and cabinets were also old—actually, almost everything inside the room was outdated. FOOD – Breakfast took way too long to be served. By the time it arrived, the food was already cold. As for dinner, the portions were generous, but the taste? Just okay. STAFF – We noticed that most of the staff did not warmly greet the guests. While we understand that everyone can have off days, a welcoming demeanor is a key part of the hospitality experience. Unfortunately, many of the staff appeared disengaged and lacked the warmth typically expected in guest services. A simple smile or friendly greeting would have made a big difference in creating a more pleasant and inviting atmosphere. FACILITIES – There have been some renovations and upgrades, but it’s very obvious that the resort is old. Instead of maintaining the charm of the original facilities/amenities, it feels like they were neglected. OVERALL — If you had visited this resort a few years ago, you would likely agree that it was much better back then. Unfortunately, it no longer lives up to the same standard. Given the current condition of the facilities and the overall guest experience, the high rates no longer feel justified. It's disappointing, especially considering the premium pricing.

It was a company outing—3 days and 2 nights with about 40 pax. It would have been appropriate if the resort had informed us beforehand that there was ongoing construction. The rooms assigned to us were right next to a massive construction site. Perhaps there were other rooms available farther away? Who knows—but this was definitely annoying. To make matters worse, there was no warning or notice to our group about an electricity issue. Our second day was constantly disrupted by brownouts throughout the day. Not a single word from the management—no explanation, no apology, nothing. I suppose they felt that wasn’t necessary? Nah, there is still have a lot to learn when it comes to professionalism and customer service…

I was not a guest at the resort. The resort does not follow Philippine laws in allowing free passage/access to the beach in front of its property. I was stopped by its security on my way to my friend's resort in the next cove. I recommend not staying at this place since they ignore the laws.

I will be truthful to this review as I can be. My partner and I went to La Luz on a weekend to unwind after a very long and tiring week. I tried to book on the same day (Saturday) and called them. Someone on the other line said that they were full already so I tried calling other resorts within the area and I received a call again from them saying that they have an available room due to a cancellation. So I took it, they forwarded their policies. The person said that the room is approximately at 8k and that there is a 20% discount. When I received the quoatation, I was confused bec the total is still at 8,000 despite the discount but she told me that she also included a 600 peso voucher for each person. I was asked to pay 50% deposit and that the rest can be settled in the resort after. Due to a series of events, we arrived at the resort at 530pm and they said that we can settle the balance in the morning since the front desk is already closed. Here is the breakdown of our review: ROOM- the room that we got has 2 twin sized beds with an additional extra bed on the room already. The cabinets are old. The lights on the shower area was busted. They provide basic toiletries. And there is a mini fridge on the room. FOOD/RESTAURANT- Food is reasonably priced and that serving is huge (like good for 3-4 persons) already. However, food serving time took longer than usual serving time ass there was a mix up of our orders with other tables. They compensated by giving a free sliced cake that was just okay. Don’t expect much from their breakfast selection as well. STAFF- The staff are all very respectful and accomodating EXCEPT for the guy on the front desk during our checkout. He was rude and was blaming us for not paying the balance when we arrived. And the initial room that he charged for us was at 10,500 which was very different from the initial quotation that I got. So the problem came during checkout, since as I have mentioned, the room charged to us was differently priced. But the manager/supervisor was able to sort it out and gave an additional 20% discount for the room. Now another problem is that, they keep on messaging us that we have to pay the 1,200 meal voucher since we did not pay the balance upon arrival and that the voucher is only valid if we did pay during the arrival. I messaged them back that we were ready6 to pay then but was told that the front desk was closed already. It was not also mentioned to us about that condition for the said voucher.

Staff are accommodating but not well-trained. They provide daily change of towels and complimentary softdrinks. The beach is nice with spacious cabanas but not well-maintained. The beachfront is not swept thoroughly, and there are dirt and debris. There are cheaper resorts beside La Luz which are crowded and their noisy guests spill over to La Luz's beachfront. The rooms and fixtures are dilapidated, dirty and not well-maintained. Water pressure in the shower is weak. Toilets are dirty (both inside the room and the public ones), and housekeeping standards are terrible. There are problems with the piping and sewage drains as they give off a sewer smell in the sink, toilet and showers. No toiletries, hangers, or slippers provided. There are no TVs in the room. Wifi is very patchy. While the rooms have been renovated, they are not of high quality. The Annex rooms are the worst (see photos). We reported to them about the dirty room so they moved us to a Premier room which is relatively "better" but is still very worn. Intercoms in the rooms were removed as they were reportedly damaged so front desk can be reached only thru mobile numbers or FB messenger. They charge premium prices to keep up with higher-end resorts in the area but they did not maintain their facilities. Areas under construction are not properly covered. The pool looks nice, but is also dirty. Food is overpriced too, with mediocre quality. Breakfast is plated, pathetic and meager. They do not serve free coffee with the Filipino menu set. This resort only looks good in pictures, but in reality, the place is dilapidated, dirty and expensive. Housekeeping is the biggest problem, and sanitation is very poor. Overall, this resort is super overpriced and the quality of facilities and service - not worth it.
