We had a one night stay in San José before we could check into our air bnb, so we found Hotel Jazuli. The price was good, the rooms were large and comfortable and clean and new, and the staff were very nice and helpful. We needed to print out some email documents for our insurance, and the young woman at the desk was extremely helpful. I was very pleased with our stay. It’s not in the touristy part of town at all, but there’s plenty of local charm nearby which I prefer anyway.

The rooms do not have any privacy. They do not have curtains. The windows have a supposed "mirror tinted film" which, when you turn on the light, from the outside you can observe all activity in the room. I also had a very bad experience with the reception staff and the hotel management. I wanted to cancel a reservation made in error and paid in cash directly since the disappointment had only passed 10 minutes and they only had the response that there would be no possibility of obtaining a refund. Absence of commercial mentality and sense of service.
