On arriving, we were told the apartment (95) was not ready but we could leave our luggage there. We met with the housekeeper en route who told us that they needed to change the sofa cover. We went for a walk and when we returned an hour or so later, the sofas had been stripped and covered with a sheet.(the covers were returned the following day) Upon further inspection, it didn’t look like any cleaning had been done and the whole apartment was very shabby and run down. I believe they are all privately owned so this may not be typical of them all. There was jam smeared on the coffee table, thick dust on the bed headboard and litter on the front lawn area. There was no Tui rep on site and our Spanish is not up to much for a confrontation, so we knuckled down and cleaned up ourselves. Altogether, not a great start to the holiday. However, the outlook is lovely and the gardens are well kept. It was near the end of the season so a lot of the restaurants had closed, but there were enough to choose from for the week we were there. We also hired a car so were able to travel further afield. On the upside, the wifi was great!

Second time here and yes there can be issues but that’s down to your expectations. Both our visits have been mother and adult son with a space of 2 years. Love it! It’s plain, no bells and whistles, clean tidy, towels and laundry of a decent standard. Kitchen does not have everything you would wish but have learnt a quick google search you can measure liquid with a spoon, open a beer bottle and a tin of beans with a spoon too. Take some aluminium trays with you if you’re planning to use the oven. Our arrival was 29th September and arrived early, too early for our apartment but the reception lady was able to WhatsApp us with the availability and collection of our key. Gave us great information about buses and transfers. Went into Mahon monday to Lidl 3.30 € each way. Sorry to say complex pools shut down I think on the Tuesday of our stay, end of season but the beach was perfect and a very short stroll. The gardens by your apartment is suitable to relax and sun bath. Will be returning as a beautiful place to stay

When we arrived at 9am, reception was shut for another hour even though it states 24hr reception so we had to stand outside in the rain which we then couldn't check into our apartment until 2pm. Once we were finally able to access our apartment, we had no hot water. When we were finally able to contact reception, we were told they'd forotten to put our boiler on, we had to switch it on ourselves which then took over an hour to warm up. 2 days later, we returned from a long day at the beach, we had no electricity. When we maintenance man turned up nearly 45 mins later, he knew straight away it was a faulty kettle that had tripped the electrics. When speaking to our neighbours few doors down, this has already happened to them, so why use cheap/dangerous kettles? The pool / bar we were placed opposite shut 2 days after our arrival. No bar. No pool. No sunbeds. So we had to either use the beach or walk 10 minutes to the other pool, which bar also did not open until past 12pm. We had no clean bedding and only 1 clean towel for the whole week. The water slides claimed to be open, are shut and looked like they have been shut for multiple years due to the condition of the whole area. Nothing in regards to these apartments were up to par or matched the holiday we were sold.

Arrived at 11.30am flight from Stanstead,we were told we couldn’t get into the apartment instil 2pm the women on reception was quite sarcastic when I said a’wow really ! Shattered & hot we waited at the La Gondola and yes you could have a drink and food but to be honest we wanted to get in have a shower and just relax. I felt sad for people with children as they again were clearly very tired and no one to help them get their luggage to the accommodation. Finally ,got into the apartment which was quite dated, but clean and the air con was a blessing. We tended to stay at the pool/restaurant La Gondola we didn’t hire a car,a lovely clean pool plenty of sun beds no fight to get one. Great eating places albeit quite a walk to get to them and the beach. No I wouldn’t return Menorca Rentals need to get their staffing issues sorted as they women is not a good representation of the company.

A fabulous first family holiday flying to another country. Our eldest is neurodiverse and struggles with noise and crowds. Son Bou Gardens was ideal; quiet, friendly locals, amazing views with the pool a few metres from our door. A short walk to the sandy beach which was busy but we could always find a space to relax as a base for swimming in the sea. Would definitely recommend, we had a great time!

We arrived at son bou apartment in Sept 23. We were greeted by a grumpy woman on reception, ( probably tired, understandable), not a problem. We went to our apartment in zone 3, when we arrived it looked extremely nice, until we opened the door, it looked very dated. But that was not a problem we could get by that. After sorting our clothes out and bits and pieces, my wife realised there was no hairdryer in the apartment. I went down to reception and asked if they had one, yes they did and I had to leave a 10euros deposit, again understandable. We settled in that evening, with the chickens and roosters 🐓 coming up to visit. They continued walking around the appartments freely, no problem at all. The following morning we got up and went out for breakfast and returned around midday. On our arrival we entered the apartment and noticed some of our things had been moved. I noticed 2 x Jack & Jones t shirts of mine had gone, and the old hairdryer that we borrowed from the reception the previous day. I immediately went to my drawers to make sure they had not been in there, as under my clothes there was a travel iron in a box with cash, in an envelope beneath the iron. It was still there so I was relieved until I found £150 sterling had been taken and the rest replaced. At this point I was absolutely furious . I had already that morning received some heartbreaking news from back home, this was the icing on the cake. We decided to start packing and come back home. I confronted the young guy on reception, explained everything but then went into, ( I don't understand English) . I gave the key back and left on the theory we were coming home. I complained via email to son bou office and all I got back was, nothing has been reported to us and can we prove it. How can you prove you had money in an envelope and 2 x t-shirts missing. Also who would want to take the old hairdryer that belonged to the hotel. Nothing had been broken to gain entry into our apartment, so a key had been used. After several emails passing between us, all they were asking for was evidence. We decided to book elsewhere on the island to try to enjoy as best as we could our holiday. All I can say is avoid like the plague SON BOU APARTMENTS.

We stayed for 4 days in zone 3 which is ideal for access to the town and beach. The apartment was comfortable and clean. The wifi worked for maybe an hour or two, we reported it and a guy did come the next day but he had to fix something on the roof and it never came back. We had to get our own toilet roll, there was only one provided. There is no soap, shampoo, hairdryer etc. But it is after all a 2 star. The bakery is around the corner and was excellent for breakfast. Our fridge didn't work and there were ants in the kitchen but we never bothered reporting it. Reception is a good 10 min walk, they give you a number to WhatsApp queries to and this was helpful. The slide is closed for years, it really should be removed from promotional material, pools are grand but could do with maintenance. Have to buy something in the cafe to use them. Son bou is a lovely little town, beach is amazing. We brought over snorkels and if the sea is calm you can see lots of fish. The bus service is decent and easy to use to go to other towns. I wouldn't stay in this complex again for more than a week to be honest but it was reasonable value for money.

On arrival at the son bou apartment the gardens and surrounding area was lovely until we opened the door to our apartment ! Dark and outdated ,i saked if we could upgrade but no other apartment for us so we just had to get on with it ! A lot of the apartments are private and are much nicer but beware you could get one of the dated ones so just bare in mind this ,we only sleep and eat in them to be honest and it served a purpose love son bou ,but will be returning to villas from now on

We went here for a week the last week in August. To get to our apartment we had to walk nearly 20 mins from the reception to our apartment, no shuttle transfer, with four cases and 2 young children. The apartment was outdated. The shutters were rotten, the fridge was rusty, and the bathroom really needed updated. We went to son bou as it was advertised as having a large water slide for the 2 children. We found the waterside, unused with no water, it had not been used in a long time. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. Never again.
