We were to be travelling from Perugia to spend a night in Rome before flying back to Australia. But Italy was experiencing a heatwave, so why walk around Rome, in and out of shops for 24 hours? What else to do? We opened a map of Italy. We saw Terni, partway between Perugia and Rome and then we saw San Gemini, just outside Terni. There was a choice of hotels, but we selected Grand Hotel San Gemini, mainly because it had a large pool area, which was just what we needed. The hotel was exceptional. Good value. Good staff (a shout-out to the reception staff and to the person who served us poolside for lunch and then at the restaurant for dinner a few hours later.) The pool area was magnificent. The balcony restaurant atmosphere was beautiful. The food was amazing - both in quality and in presentation. And San Gemini itself was a beautiful small place, nice cobbled streets, very quiet, with friendly people. We sat somewhere for tea and coffee and we felt very comfortable. We would like to return to San Gemini one day and if we do, we know which hotel we will be booking.

A hotel without any sphere: I stayed in April when it was 27c. The pool in the hotel park was still closed. There were hardly any clients. Yes I did get an upgrade but for a 4* hotel: no tea/coffee room facilities; no iron facilities; not any internation channel on th eTV. At breakfast there was not any service: had to ask for eggs: people does hardly speak English and the young lady behind the reception was very rude. They advertise with a spa but you can not use the spa without using an extra paid treatment. They have the unacceptable habit to write on my block/worrkingnote beside my telephone. UNACCEPTABLE!

What a comfortable place to stay. Spent 2 nights just relaxing and welling the beautiful town of San Gemini. Shower has a steam shower in the junior suite. Would highly recommend upgrading if you’re up for a treat.

We booked for a weekend. We met wonderful receptionists in our 3 day stay. They were efficient and very professional!The make up room was very fast but the bathroom was a bit complicated to use the shower. There are some little things that i noticed, our bathroom had some dirt that needs scrubbing. Not more! The pool area is the best place! Over all we are satisfied!!

Albergo molto funzionale per posizione e consigliabile per la quiete che lo circonda , pulizia encomiabile, gentilezza del personale davvero degna di menzione. Colazione di buon livello. Torneremo senz'altro appena possibile in questa stupendo palazzo settecentesco

Hotel nel cuore del borgo medievale di San Gemini (Terni), camere spaziose ed eleganti. Servizio di colazione di prima classe. Davvero degna di nota la piscina inserita in un parco privato adiacente l'hotel. Relax e cura da 5 stelle. Da consigliare.
