I had a wonderful experience! Highly recommend! This place is a piece of San Francisco history. Beautiful stained glass windows and decorative wood trim. Each room is decorated with unique antique furniture and artwork. No two rooms have the same décor. The staff take pride in their hotel. Everyone was welcoming and genuinely cared that I was enjoying my stay. They have really good free coffee and all the toiletries are available in the bathroom, so you don't need to bring shampoo or soap. I wasn't sure how the shared bathrooms would work, but it ended up being just fine. They have lots of individual shower rooms and bathrooms. I never had to wait, and since each toilet or shower is its own room with a door that locks behind you, no one is walking in on you. Full privacy. Great location too! There is a fancy Italian restaurant downstairs. Trader Joe's is a block away, and Fisherman's Wharf just a few blocks beyond that. Walking distance to Coit Tower and the zig-zag of Lombard Street. This place is great, and I hope to stay here again.

The hotel is located in the center of the old city, very close to Jiuquhua Street (the navigation actually leads downhill from Jiuquhua Street, too steep, a bit scary). Walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf. Marriott Hotel is right next to it. In such a location, there is a free parking fee. The hotel does not look old. The twin room is not small and two boxes can be easily placed. The overall feeling is better than the online review.

My wife and I stayed here for a night, while in the city with friends seeing a show. Great location to many wonderful restaurants, theaters, etc., and had an amazing feel, like staying in an old Paris Hotel. We love the essence of the hotel and how it is decorated, bathroom with its vintage tile and fixtures, free 4pm aperitif of Sherry, the room was clean and minimalistic, etc. General Manager Nick and the reception staff are kind and very helpful with any needs/questions you may have. There is a parking garage no more than a block or two away. Highly recommend a stay here! Call hotel directly to compare price with those listed on booking websites, as you may get a better deal. :)

The North Beach location is amazing! We are right at the intersection of Columbus, Green, and Stockton streets. Easily walk to Chinatown, Little Italy, Financial District, Ferry Building, Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square, Lombard St, Market St, Nob Hill, tourist sites, restaurants, bars, cafes & more! Bike to the Golden Gate Bridge! Close to Cable Cars, Bart, buses & Muni trains. Lots of nearby parking options. Walk across the street to see the 7 Fingers Circus at Club Fugazi! Our home is great for friends, groups of couples, business travelers, families, etc.The original redwood trim throughout our 1907 house was personally restored by me, Sara. My partner, Aaron and I, also custom-built many pieces of furniture for our home. We also made most of the artwork throughout the house. We are San Francisco artists and designers who recently created the regenerative-themed decor for a new performance venue in SF. By renting our home, you are not only giving yourselves a unique experience, you are also supporting art and culture in SF.* 4 ROOMS with 2 Queen Beds, 1 Queen Sleeper Sofa with a thick foam topper, and 1 Full Bed* You can use all 4 beds OR use 3 beds and have a living room space (the living room is an enclosed room with a door).* Internet TV with Netflix, YouTube, TED Talks, and other internet capability. It does not have broadcast or cable TV.* Vanity sink room and bathroom with shower/tub* Kitchen & eat-in dining room with custom made dining table and seating bench* Central! Perfect location for work or adventure * Lots of nearby PARKING options (see section below)Flexibility Regarding the 4pm Check-In Time* If you get to San Francisco late in the evening/night, that's no problem: There is a key lock box to retrieve a set of keys at any point after 4pm.* If you get to San Francisco before 4pm: You can generally drop off your bags earlier than that (after the previous guests leave) while I am cleaning the house in preparation for your arrival, then come back at some point later (anytime after 4pm) to make yourselves at home.Flexibility Regarding the 11am Check-Out Time* While I request that you be packed up so I can start laundry and cleaning at 11am, you can generally leave your bags behind while I'm cleaning the house and come back to pick them up before 4pm. There might additional flexibility if needed, so please ask.SO MUCH IS SO CLOSE!!* Club Fugazi 7 Fingers Circus "Dear San Francisco " show - 2 minute walk* Coit Tower & Telegraph Hill - 10 min walk * Transamerica Building & Financial District - 10 min walk* Alcatraz Ferry & Pier 39 - 15 min walk* Lombard Street - 15 min walk* Exploratorium - 15 min walk* Fisherman's Wharf & Ghirardelli Square - 20 min walk * Montgomery BART/MUNI Station - 20 min walk* Ferry Building & Embarcadero Center - 20 min walk* Union Square & Downtown Shopping - 20 min walk* SFMOMA and Yerba Buena Center - 25 min walk * Moscone Convention Center - 30 min walk* Caltrain Station 4th st - 40 min walk or 16 min bike ride* Golden Gate Bridge Pavilion - 30 min bike rideThere are so many nearby restaurants and cafes to choose from. If you need groceries, there are several markets including Luke's Local across the street, The Nature Stop a block away, and Union Street Produce Co 3 blocks away. There are also abundant Chinese markets within a block and extending down Stockton St. The famous Molinari Delicatessen is a 3 minute walk away. There is a Wallgreens Pharmacy 1 block away. There is a Trader Joe's supermarket within a 12 minute walk.A HISTORIC RESIDENCEOur home is the 3rd floor of a building constructed in 1907, shortly after the San Francisco earthquake and fires of 1906. The layout, decorative redwood trim, bathroom, and windows give you a glimpse into this historic moment in time.Room 1: This room has two large windows from which you can see Coit Tower and the Washington Square steeples. It has an L-shaped couch that converts to a very comfortable queen bed with a thick foam topper or can be kept as a couch and used as a living room. This room also includes a dresser with a secretary desk, 2 mid-century club chairs, and artwork made by us, the homeowners. This room gets lots of sunshine, fresh air, and you can enjoy some of the neighborhood sounds like parrots, church bells, and sidewalk musicians.Room 2: This room has a queen bed with an antique bed frame powder coated red orange like the Golden Gate Bridge. Enjoy the Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress by Nest Bedding (perfect blend of pocket coils and memory foam). This room has 2 lamps, two mirrored bedside tables, and a matching dresser. There is a TV with Netflix and internet capability and the bedroom is lined with restored original redwood trim and artwork. There is a large window that faces the lightwell between our building and our neighbors, so it's fairly quiet while still allowing for some sunshine and fresh air. This room is next to the kitchen and closest to the bathroom.Room 3: This room is between Room 1 and Room 2. It has a queen mattress and redwood headboard made by another SF artist. It has a dresser with a sectary desk and chair. The window opens to the hallway and lets in sunshine from the skylight above the stairwell. Thus this room gets natural light but is the quietest in the house, perfect for light sleepers who crave a silence for a great night's rest.Room 4: This room also has a window with a view of Coit Tower and the Washington Square Park church steeples. My partner Aaron and I custom made the furniture. The design is rolling hills and sun rays above the mattress and sedimentary layers with inlaid gems below. The cabinets include a standing desk, vanity mirror, 3 general shelves, and a drop zone for glasses, wallet, and such. The raised bed has built in dresser drawers, a seated desk, and a sturdy ladder. There is a Full-sized Purple mattress with a large flat screen TV. At the end of the hall is a sun-filled kitchen and dining area. The kitchen has a gas range and oven, fridge, and various kitchen tools to make home-cooked meals. The bright dining area is a wonderful place to enjoy some coffee and breakfast before heading out for the day. Feel free to just use the dining table as a desk/work space.Whether you check out the abundance of markets within a couple of blocks, explore the authentic stores of Chinatown, gather cheeses and meats from Molinari Delicatessen on Columbus, grab some ingredients from the Farmer's Market, or choose to walk to Trader Joe's - you are surrounded by delicious ingredients! Or take advantage of the litany of restaurants, cafes and bars in all directions! As mentioned above, this building is from the early 1900's and has some unique features that have been added over the last 100 years. Walk through the kitchen to a small room with windows to the ceiling. This converted porch was probably once used for drying clothes and now has a bathroom sink. Through another door is the bathroom with a toilet and shower/bath that was built some years after the 1907 parts of the building. This may not be your usual bathroom experience, but you are visiting San Francisco after all and will get a glimpse of the historic nature of SF homes. The bathroom includes a make-up mirror, blow dryer with a diffuser, cotton balls, q-tips, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, ear plugs and a few feminine products in case of emergency. The house doesn't include a clothes washer and dryer, but there's a laundromat a half block away and laundry supplies are provided.Abundant Parking Options:There is free street parking in the neighborhood. Most of it has a 2 hour limit between 8am Monday - 9pm Saturday. So, you can park for free in a spot from 7pm in the evening to 10am in the morning before you have to move. Since the time limit doesn't apply on Sunday, you can leave it from 7pm Saturday night to 10am Monday morning for free. There are also parking meters in the streets immediately around the house. They are enforced Monday to Saturday 9am to 6pm. So you can park for free from 6pm to 9am and all day on Sunday. After that, it's around $2.25 per hour which you can pay at the meter with change or a credit card, or from your smartphone with an app called PayByPhone. You can even pay in advance for the first 2 hours of parking in the morning the night before by using the app. With any street parking or meter parking, *please* be sure to read the *signs* and the *parking meter* itself for any limitations such as street cleaning hours. There is a parking lot right in front of the house. It costs $20 for each 12 hours. If you use the car during the day then you could just pay $20 for the night. Or you can park in the lot during the day and park on the street for free at night if you want to.You can also park in a number of nearby parking garages. There are 2 parking garages a half block away on Vallejo. The Vallejo Garage charges $3-4 per hour. The North Beach Garage charges $4-5 per hour. They both charge $36 for 24 hours. So you could park in the garage during the day then park on the street for free and save $16-$18. They are open 24 hours a day.The North Beach Garage 735 Vallejo Street, San Francisco, CA 94133Vallejo Street Garage 766 Vallejo Street, San Francisco, CA 94133The Powell Street Parking garage is usually $12 for a weekday from morning to about 6pm. The price goes up in evenings and weekends, however as stated earlier you can park for free in the evenings on the street. They close between 10pm and 2am depending on the day. So you could switch off between the garage during the day and street at night and save money if you wanted to.About pets:No pets allowed.About checkOut:Check out before 11:00 AM.A

Chose this hotel for its great location—close to my meetings and downtown. The room was compact but clean, with a comfortable bed and good Wi-Fi (essential for work). Staff was polite and efficient, nothing fancy but no complaints. Would stay again for business, especially if the price is right.
