The Grove Inn

My daughter and I stayed 3 nights at this charming hotel and it was the nicest stay. The only downer was that there was no street parking. We had to park at a garage a couple of blocks away, after we checked in. The check in was easy and the front desk clerk was very friendly. The room was quite nice and the beds were comfortable. There was no A/C but there was a fan to cool down the room, which did not get very warm. We slept soundly, despite our window being right next to where the Muni train stop was. The hotel is close to a lot of good restaurants and bars. It is also a short walk to the Alamo Square park, where the famous Painted Ladies reside. A few more blocks and you're in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood. We didn't need to drive anywhere because there was enough to do nearby.

What a superb place to stay in San Francisco! The Grove is an absolute gem, superbly located in the Hayes region, close to Haight Valley and a number of superb restaurants. We shared the two bed room as a family of three and it was absolutely perfect. Great transport links to the ports and the centre of town, right by the lovely Painted Ladies, with a great spot for breakfast just a 2 minute walk away (Alamo Square Cafe). Would highly recommend.

We were so lucky to find this place. It was better than we ever expected. Price was good and the location was excellent!!! Very clean and well equipped for everything we needed. It is walking distance to everything you can imagine. We took an Uber a few times after a long day of walking the rolling hills. Very friendly staff. We look forward to our next trip to San Francisco and staying with you!!

Was very pleased with my stay at the Grove Inn. Communication was great; check-in was easy (I arrived while the front desk was staffed, but they seem well-prepared for those who check in after hours). My room was clean, with a nice modern bathroom and good bath products. The bed and pillows were very comfy. I appreciated the fan and the noise machine, as well as the mini-fridge, Keurig, and electric kettle (with coffee and tea provided). No evidence of a breakfast or snack basket, but I did have a couple of chocolates and small cookies awaiting my arrival. The neighborhood seems clean, safe, and relatively quiet - and the building is secure, so I never felt uncomfortable about that. A couple of things were less than ideal. The walls are pretty thin! I must not have had neighbors my first night, because I didn't notice it until the second night when I heard snoring from the room next to mine. (And then I realized why they provide earplugs in addition to the noise machine, ha!) My second night there was definitely noisier - not from the street, but from other rooms. One other thing I didn't love was that my room had no deadbolt, only the doorknob lock. The building felt secure; my room not so much. Finally (and I think this is common in a lot of older buildings), the room had minimal electrical outlets (at least ones that were easy to access). All in all, I quite enjoyed my stay at the Grove Inn and will definitely consider it again for my next visit to SF.

Located in a classy part of SF. Well located for commencing a (very long!) walk to take in downtown and some of the tourist spots like Nob Hill and Lombard St (get an Uber back!). Height-Ashbury and Botanic Gardens also walkable and of course Painted Ladies just up the road. Some good places to eat and drink on nearby Divisadero St. I'd asked for a room at the back so it was quieter than overlooking the street which was a good move. It was on the ground floor and pretty small but fine for a few nights. We liked the snacks being replenished every day. Overall, I'd recommend this place.

Our one stay at The Grove Inn was a perfect pit stop before returning to London from our 2 week road trip in the US. Very clean, the room has everything you need and in a great location. Nelson and Aziza were incredibly helpful too! We will certainly stay again when next visiting San Francisco!

I can’t say enough positive things about the Grove Inn. It was clean, convenient and the staff was excellent. Aziza and Nelson were so helpful! The daily snack basket came in very handy too. Excellent stay! Will definitely stay here again if we visit San Francisco!

Nothing better than coming back to clean and serene Grove Inn after navigating San Francisco. Small details like bright lighting over the sink and plenty of outlets for multiple devices make it even more relaxing.
