Excellent location, right in the heart of the gaslamp district. Perfect for bachelor/bachelorette parties that want access to nightlife. Check in was smooth and the rooms are nicely appointed. I really enjoyed the room amenities that included a small kitchen with everything that I needed for my stay!

The worst hotel experience imaginable. The location was a disaster—perched directly above a booming Latin bar. Unless you're someone who enjoys rhythmic bass pounding through the floorboards well into the early hours, good luck getting any sleep. The walls might as well have been made of paper, and the thudding music felt like a personal attack on peace and quiet. Even earplugs couldn’t drown out the chaos below. Forget relaxation. The room itself wasn’t much better—dated, cramped, and with a homeless person camped out in the stairwell. But it was the unending noise that really made this place unbearable. Definitely a stay to forget.

If you want to be right in the heart of the action of the Gaslamp District, this is the place! The door you would normally walk right past is a portal to another time. The original building/hotel is from the 1880's but nicely redone and upgraded. Very comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom will all the necessities, small kitchenette-stocked with plates, glasses and pots/pan, and a sitting room with a TV that you can cast your subscriptions to (Free WiFi too). You are surrounded by top level restaurants, bars and nightlife...so the chances you are going to use the kitchenette is slim. Walkable to Petco Park, the Convention Center, the ferry, and Seaport Village. The Kasa team was outstanding to work with...before, during and even after our trip. Will definitely look to stay at this property the next time I need to be down in this area.

The apartment was well equipped and the Kasa team were quick to address a couple of issues....But location resulted in noise and light pollution as well as vibration from the music beat from the bar immediately below. The provided ear plugs and white noise machine did nothing. Dumpster moving at 3 or 4am, then deliveries fom 5. None of this is mentioned on the website or when booking!! Even the lift bell was loud

Bed was very comfortable, room was cute and well stocked with anything you would need. Only issues were the shampoo/conditioner dispensers didn’t pump but I just unscrewed the lid and poured some out. It is loud at night, you’re above a bar in the Gaslamp district, but they provide ear plugs and a sound machine, plus the TV helped drown out the “woo girls” at the bars. Close to the rail for transportation and soooo many excellent bars and restaurants to chose from.

Located on heart of downtown SD, you really can’t ask for much more! Everything is within walkable distance from ball park to variety of different restaurants, you really don’t need to drive around to explore downtown SD from it. Only down side was really loud noise of late night partying from near by hotel building, other than that we’ve had a wonderful stay!

There are definitely some pros and cons to this stay. Recommend, with caveats. PRO: In the heart of Gaslamp with a huge variety of restaurants, bars, attractions nearby. Good price for the area and fairly spacious with a kitchen that is well appointed. (But with so many restaurants it’s not likely you’ll want to cook). Sonder tools worked as designed. Customer services addressed our concerns promptly. On-site Washer Dryer (included & soap provided) was a great benefit. Public transit nearby. CON: The hallway and elevator do not make for a great first impressions: dimly lit, dirty and the smell is really off putting. With only one window (faces a wall) there isn’t great light or fresh air in the unit. When we arrived floors were sticky, mold in the bathroom and generally wasn’t great. If they had put air on ahead of time it might have been better and maybe prevented the mold. Parking is several blocks away (SpotHero for the win!) , fairly inexpensive and easy to get in/out, however, be prepared to schlep your luggage through crowded tourist area. Bed is VERY FIRM and low…we are ok with that but others might not be comfortable. The noise mentioned in other reviews is NOT an exaggeration…..Mon-Wed wasn’t terrible though. Earplugs and noise machine provided. TIPS: try the taco joint down the street recommended by the Sonder team. Use Spot Hero for parking

First the good 1. Great location, easy walk to ball park 2. Lots of good bars and restaurants 3. 5 th Ave is closed at night and you can stroll in street for several blocks 4. Kitchenette was very well equipped. 5. When we needed something Sonder staff were very quick to respond! 6. Very over priced for what it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, now for the bad 1. NO TV, well you could get Youtube. This can be corrected with the addition of a small telescope antenna on the back of the tv . Does not affect operation of tv in any way but allows you to see local channels. Cost, $7.95 on EBay! 2. Smell, hall and rooms need need to be cleaned with “SOAP”. 3. Security, very poor security. There was always a non resident in the hall. This is just WRONG!!!!! Sonder has lots of cameras around and I guess they are just for looks. 4. Noise, oh my god. Don’t stay in 22 or 24. Right above bar and music rocks until 2AM and then the garbage trucks arrive. I would recommend almost any other hotel!

Great Location. It is in the heart of Gaslamp Quarters in San Diego pretty much was able to walk anywhere after finding a spot to park the car on a nearby street. My AirBnB cancelled 2 hours before my stay so I needed a last minute place. It was a little out of my price range but do to necessity I got a room here and it was great.
