We had an amazing stay at this hotel! From the moment we arrived, the staff’s professionalism and warm welcome made us feel at home. A special thanks to Lea, who was super nice and made our stay even more enjoyable. The spa area was the perfect place to unwind, and the rooms were impeccably clean and incredibly comfortable. Dining at the restaurant was a standout experience— the sommelier’s expertise was remarkable, and the menu offered a wonderful variety of dishes made with fresh, local ingredients. Every detail, from the service to the atmosphere, was thoughtfully curated. We both highly recommend this hotel for a truly unforgettable experience!

We stayed for a week with 2 small children - a toddler and a baby. We loved this hotel - the views, the food, the staff! Our room was spacious and clean. Pros: - Room - large size, comfy beds, and good pillows, blackout blinds, terrace/balcony - Ambience and beautiful views - Attentive, kind and friendly staff - Amazing food (definitely worth going half board at minimum). Incredible breakfast buffet, and a 5-course dinner menu that changes daily: - Facilities - modern interiors, beautiful pools and spa, kids room - Location - 10 min walk to town, yet sits on a hill for amazing views - Parkimg - Activities - organised trips and hikes by the hotel staff - Allows children and dogs Room for improvement: - No air conditioning - this wouldn’t be an issue outside of summer but we were here in June and it was 26-27 degrees outside. The rooms retain heat. It was very difficult to sleep on the night at these temperatures even with all windows opened. I would definitely recommend for hotel owners to install air conditioning or at minimum provide floor fans in rooms during summer months or on demand. - WiFi in room. We had issues with the WiFi signal in our room (15) which would only work by the window or by the door but generally we would have no signal in room. WiFi worked well in all public areas but not our room. This was a bit of a pain. - Temperature of outside pool. We were told that both inside and outside pools were heated to 30 degrees - however the pool outside felt significantly colder due to outside air temperatures cooling the water. I would suggest for outside pool to be heated to higher temp - 33-34 degrees perhaps to account for air cooling. To our children, the outside pool felt cold and they preferred to stay inside. - No kettle/tea making facilities in the room. As British we love our tea - not being able to boil hot water in our room is unusual for this calibre of a hotel, especially as I love a cup of tea before bed at midnight and there was nowhere to get it. Overall we absolutely loved our stay here. The staff were friendly and incredibly patient with our kids who were a bit of a handful - big shout out to Beatrice and Adolfo for providing excellent service at meal times! We can’t wait to return here!

Very nice hotel but only four stars not because it is not a nice hotel but because it aims to compete with the better hotels but it is not yet there. Mentioning just one potential peer, the Granvara in Selva is an exceptional hotel while this hotel has basically all the same things but always a level below due often to unfortunate choices instead of lower quality. For example, our room was enormous, but the space was comprised of a teeny, tiny bathroom (with a toilet and bidet in a separate small closet), a nicely sized sleeping area and then a massive and almost empty sitting area with a couch and lots of empty floor space. This is a massive miss and at least some portion of that enormous empty space should have been incorporated into a nicer bathroom instead of the tiny closet one must squeeze into. This is basically the first thing one notices about the room and surely the architect or designer knew this but somebody made a decision somewhere to follow this path instead - cost perhaps? Another example is the parking, which is painfully short of what is needed. There is a very small underground parking garage that holds perhaps 40 cars (?) and then the back-up is a small sliver of ground behind the building. When we were there, the hotel was not full yet cars were having to park in odd spots just to squeeze in somewhere. Another odd architectural failure for what otherwise seems to have been a recently renovated hotel. Really quite the head-scratcher. And yes there is no air conditioning, which we Americans just are stunned by but is the trend in Europe sadly. Just know before you go! On the other hand, everything is quite clean, the dining room is spacious, the public spaces have a nice upscale IKEA-like design, there was a lovely social one evening with a talented musician, snacks and drinks and the spa/pool facilities are nice. The views are also great. The kitchen was adequate, with a decent breakfast spread, including abundant choices for eggs and other breakfast mains. Dinner, on the other hand, showed greater goals than achievements with acceptable food and an ok salad bar, but definitely not comparable to what might be thought of as peer hotels. We were particularly disappointed with the meat entrees, which were often fatty and fairly tasteless, whereas the fish dishes were more highly regarded. With so much going for it, these shortcomings were a disappointment. Some items (such as the parking situation) will be harder to fix than others, but this is a lovely hotel that is missing the mark in a number of areas to make it an excellent hotel.

The hotel is in a perfect location for visiting some of the best parts of the Dolomites. We had a hire car and there was plenty of parking. But the public transport from San Candido was excellent and would have easily taken you to all the popular places. The hotel itself was beautiful, with excellent facilities. A great breakfast was included as well as afternoon snacks. The pool was a real bonus to come back to at the end of a tough hike. The staff were always friendly and polite. Lots of included activities too, including fitness classes, group hikes and cycling. Drink prices at the bar were also very reasonable. Our main issue and why this is not a 5 star review was that the rooms were really hot. And there was no fan or air conditioning. This meant we all slept badly the 2 nights we stayed. We asked for a fan from reception but none were available.

Amazingly relaxing, comfortable stay in a resort complex designed both for families and for couples seeking relaxed, sane environment. Gorgeous setting, very accommodating staff, excellent location for taking advantage year round of activities in the Dolomites. Also very good food and food service.

Wonderful hotel! A real treat to come back to at the end of each days skiing. Good shuttle bus service to and from the slopes on demand. Rooms are lovely - very comfortable, large and well kitted out with lots of thoughtful touches and fantastic views over the town and to the slopes. Dinner was incredible - thank god we were skiing otherwise we would certainly have gained weight. 5 courses on offer each night with an amazing wine list too. Great service and really got to know the lovely team around the hotel. Spa facilities were lovely - the outdoor sauna is a dream!

Absolutely stunning views from our Alpin room and throughout the pool and spa spaces. Loved the new spa spaces - multiple saunas and whirlpools with breathtaking views. Calm and relaxing environment maintained at all times. Food was phenomenal. Location is best of both worlds - Only a few minutes walking, biking, or driving to the very cute town of San Candido, but somehow you also feel very much in nature and “away from it all.” My only disappointment was the restaurant management. At restaurant our first night (after a long drive and rushed clothing changing after checkin), we fumbled to recall our newly checked in room number but gave our name… and it would appear the manager that night doubted we were actual guests. It was a very uncomfortable and unwelcoming interaction that tainted the first 24 hours for me. I felt my presence at the hotel (as a 3 day half board paying guest) was questioned just minutes after checking in. The other restaurant disappointment is that it’s virtually impossible to request a seat on the lovely patio with view. The inside space gets quite stuffy and hot. We were repeatedly told the patio was full, but you could see empty tables…I suppose they reserve one table per family for the entire night seating (not the most efficient use of those sought after outdoor tables with view). We even followed their policy of requesting outdoor table at breakfast same day… and still we’re never able to achieve a single meal on the patio. I was too nervous to even ask for patio table at breakfast bc it seemed so rule oriented in the restaurant… like guests were expected to fall into line without question. There is no coffee maker in the room and no room service before 8am. I asked for coffeemaker in my room Request but this was not provided and after the issues above, I became shy about repeatedly asking for things. The restaurant opens at 7:30am, but you can’t sit on the patio there… so there’s virtually no way to enjoy your lovely room patio with a cup of coffee. Most attractions in this area require early morning start (before 7:30am), so I find the lack of AM coffee access a huge oversight. We ordered coffee at the bar at night and just drank it cold in the Am on our patio. (We even tried to be creative and went into town searching for cold brew to keep in the fridge but found limited options. Perhaps bring your own instant? But again, no hot water kettle in room.) The other odd thing is that the gym (with beautiful view) closes at 7:30pm and doesn’t open until 8am. This also goes for the pool and beautiful spa. I noticed this was common for hotels in this region to have very limited hours for these amenities, so we adjusted, but I found the gym limitation to be quite odd. I can’t imagine it requires monitoring or costs more to the hotel to leave open to guests with key access? Overall, a gorgeous stay. The scenery and atmosphere they have created is one of the best we have ever experienced. The strictness in the res

The management at the Leitlhof has obviously really thought out all the ingredients that make a fabulous hotel stay, and then gone about and implemented all of them. Before arriving we received an email asking us if we had any preferences for our stay and how we would like our bed made up - upon arriving it was exactly as requested! Great start! The hotel is lovely, the rooms are large and ours (the Alpin superior) had the most stunning view over the village to the mountains. The pool area was also lovely with the same stunning view. We were sceptical about the included dinners but no need. They were plentiful and delicious and far exceeded our expectations. Dinner started with a salad buffet followed by a couple of selections for each course (and there were plenty of courses), accompanied by a recommendation for a white and red wine (at extra charge). We really enjoyed the wine recommendations all from the local area. There was an extensive and well priced wine list if you preferred. Breakfasts were a hearty buffet with a dish of the day plus eggs made to your liking. Additionally it was possible to make up lunch from the buffet to take on your days hike for a very reasonable 2.50 euro. The hotel also ran guided hikes and bike tours with a weekly timetable. Bikes could be booked at no charge from reception - we did this one day during our stay and rode into Austria for lunch! Oh and the staff - they were wonderful.. All in all the Leitlhof is an excellent base for a holiday in the Dolomites - we couldn't fault it..
