My wife and I stayed here for a quick overnight. I try to stay at Marriott properties whenever possible and stay loyal to the brand, but I just don't get this place. The hallways are dark grey and give the claustrophobic appearance of walking through submarine. The bathroom tiles look dirty (yuck). The place just doesn't feel inviting or comforting, unlike most other Marriott's I have stayed at.The most annoying thing about the stay was a lack of attention to detail or just a lack of caring on the managements part. Best example: I woke pearly, and headed down to the lobby to find coffee. In the lobby I find two unlabeled coffee urns (which is which?). I ask the front desk which is which and they don't know. I choose one, fill up my paper cups and ask where the cream or milk is, because it is not in the fridge below the coffee urns ( see photo). I am told there is none, but the front desk is able to locate 2 mini creamers after some rooting around.I make the coffee's and look for lids, and there are none.I ask the front desk for lids and after rooting around, they find 2 that are the wrong size. They say sorry, that's all we got. Off I go to the room with my mystery coffee. This isn't a world-stopping problem, but it is an example of people that just don't pay attention to details, or just plain don't care. It's the little things and special details that make a stay memorable and enjoyable, and this property does not deliver.

Overall, this property looks lovely on the outside, but is in desperate need to be updated inside. Arrival: The hotel website states that the hotel does not offer a shuttle, So after paying $15 for the short ride from Ontario Airport, we pull into the porte-cochere where the Holiday Inn shuttle van is parked. So there is a shuttle available, but it only runs very limited hours in the morning. You are on your own if your flight leaves after noon. Lobby: From my observation, the front desk staff is often in the nearby office, as there is no one behind the desk. The hotel has a small sundry area where you can purchase overpriced sodas and water ($3.50), snacks, candy. However you cannot charge the items to your room and must use a credit card on a self-checkout kiosk. We had arrived early in the day, knowing that our rooms would be several hours away from being ready. While waiting in the lobby for a room to become available, I was hoping to complete some work on my laptop. But the property would not allow me WiFi access until I could check in. Considering that I'm have IHG Premium Elite status, this seems like the least they could offer. Restaurant: Again -only Credit Cards accepted. You cannot do a room charge in the hotel's only restaurant. Limited breakfast menu - we ate upon our early arrival. When our rooms were ready and we check in, we were informed that the restaurant would not be open for dinner on Sunday and Monday - the two nights of our stay. Yet when you enter the elevators, they are adorned with advertisement for their restaurant/food offerings. Hallways: Very worn, carpets looked dirty and on our floor, the 4th, you could see what appears to be construction markings through the paint/wallpaper. It looked like faint black marker with room numbers or other symbols - is the paint so thin it didn't cover these up??? Room: The room was generally fine, although the furnishings did appear to be dated. The worst thing though was the air conditioner,. This was the loudest air conditioner I've ever heard -- sounded like the compressor of a large commercial freezer. The television offers several channels, but there are no instructions on how to access them and the remote doesn't have a numerical keypad, so you must use an up/down key to find the channel you want. Towels: As mentioned by others, the towels reminded me of the awful ones they used to give us to use after gym class in high school 30+ years ago.

There are 5 people directly upstairs from me, in a two bed hotel room, remodeling the place, or, at least, that's what it sounds like. There used to be 6 people up there but one of them got upset, cussed out his bethren, and threw rocks at them and the hotel. The homeless parking out in front of my room is a nice feature. There are drug deals taking place at the adjacent 7-11, some people stopped by and asked to use my restroom. I even discussed with the 5 people in the two bed room above me about their pounding around like this is the gymnasium, they are still at it, 8:20 at night. This makes 4 hours of pounding in a row, who knows what I have in store during sleeping hours. The hotel room is actually pretty nice, the staff is attentive and the maids are awesome. The guests are the problem, but when they are out in the parking lot screaming obscenities and throwing rocks at each other, a security guard would be able to intervene, I'm just sayin.

Room was very clean and organized. They offered Natural products for your hair and body. There was even a nice little sign that read, If you forgot a tooth brush, razor, comb or shaving cream than we would be happy to give those to you if you call and ask for them. I did notice that the vents most likely needed to be clean because even though I was not on a smoking floor, I kept sneezing throughout the night because of my allergies to smoke. I asked for a late check out the afternoon before I left and they approved it. The day of check out after a long day at work I went up to my room to pack my suitecase and my key card did not work. I called down to the front desk and the response I got was, ” You have to come back down here to get another key card.” I was upset because you would think if I asked the afternoon before for a late check out they would have either handed me another key card then or gave me a heads up that I would need to get another before heading up to my room. I had an appointment and was rushed for time but they did not even try and apologize.

From the beginning of the stay to the end, we were in complete dissatisfaction with the way we were treated. We were encouraged by the great reviews on Google and on hotels.com of this location, but unfortunately do not believe what everyone says. Don’t be fooled! After we checked into our hotel we went to get food. After we got food and returned back to our hotel, we noticed that there were blood stains on our bed sheets and comforter, upon looking closely. We were obviously disgusted by this and did not want to use the bedding if it had blood in it, so we called the front desk at that time. The lady at the front desk said that she is very sorry and that she cannot have a maid replace the sheets because there were no maids at that time. Then I asked for a new set of sheets and bedding so that I could replace it myself. The lady said that she will send over the bed sheets as soon as possible. A guy who looks like a new hire by the name of “Colby, Colvy, or Toby” (one of those names, the hotel staff declined to confirm which one), arrived at our hotel room in about 10 or 15 minutes. With an attitude from when we opened our door to greet him, he gave us just the bare set of inner sheets. Upon receiving the sheets, I asked, “Could we get a comforter?”. He responded back saying, “you didn't ask for a comforter, I am giving you bed sheets.” I said back to him, “we need a comforter because the bloody bed sheets touched the comforter hence we would need all new bedding.” With extreme disrespect and rudeness, he said he will go get it. When he returned with the comforter in hand I had the old sheets that had blood on it, all wrapped up. Then he gives me the comforter. I asked him “what do you want me to do with the bloody bed sheets”, and he said “I don't know what you want me to do with it. It's not my job. You know, I am doing you a favor by bringing you these things right now, this isn't even my job, I work at the front desk.” Obviously I was very upset at this and I found this to be extremely unprofessional as the hotel had blood on the sheets, and they should do anything to fix it and to make sure that we are happy. Obviously in this case this employee did not care. When I replied back saying “that this is a problem that needs to be fixed and whoever's working at the hotel needs to be able to help me and not be rude to me, I was replied back with a statement that I would be kicked out for being too disrespectful. Along with this, this individual decided to curse at me and once he started cursing at me, with fear of safety because my girlfriend was also in the bedroom I closed the door and locked it. Despite me closing the door and locking it, this man continued to curse me out and it seems like he almost wanted to fight me saying “F*ck this and f*ck that, come on man, it's like that?!” Then I give a call to the front desk and the same lady answers again, I explain the whole situation and she apologizes. She confirms to me that compensation will be gi

Yes, we flew by LAX but we drove & stayed here after arriving almost midnight so traffic was barely there. We left really early for a 6am flight at LAX on our way back so traffic was not there. The hotel was simple and clean; we were out and away to our destinations most of the time. The bathroom can use a vanity table, actually. Breakfast was spartan, to say the least. But we really enjoyed our stay as they clean & organize the room every day. Friendly non fussy service. Be ready with your IDs. Don't expect something grand; I was told they used to be part of the Super 8 chain but is now independent. We never got to use the swimming pool. We also saw a number of places to go for food and some shopping very near this hotel, which has one of its sides actually by the freeway.

EEricI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Barstow, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish! The moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with warm smiles and outstanding hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The room was immaculate, modern, and incredibly cozy. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud, providing the perfect rest after a long day of travel. I was impressed by the thoughtful amenities provided, from the high-speed Wi-Fi to the convenient in-room coffee maker. It truly felt like a home away from home. One of the highlights of my stay was the complimentary breakfast. The variety and quality of the offerings exceeded my expectations. From fresh fruit and yogurt to eggs and waffles, there was something for everyone, and everything was delicious. The location of the hotel was also ideal, with easy access to local attractions and shopping. Despite its proximity to the freeway, the room was wonderfully quiet, allowing for a peaceful night's sleep. Overall, my stay at Fairfield Inn & Suites Barstow was nothing short of outstanding. The combination of friendly service, comfortable accommodations, and excellent amenities made it a memorable visit. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling through the area. I can't wait to return!

GGuest UserMy first time to Big Bear Lake. Lagonita Lodge was a good value. I would stay here again. It sits right on the lake. I didn't get a lakeview unit, but you can easily sit on benches in areas provided to get your lake view. It is a typical timeshare type of resort. Mine was a one bedroom with a hide a bed sofa in the living area. Full kitchen with microwave and stove, full sized refrigerator, dishwasher, fully stocked with dishes , silverware, and cooking gear. There did not appear to be air conditioning in my unit, but there was a heater and it worked. In September it gets cool at night. Around 44 degrees. There is an activity schedule of things to do at Lagonita Lodge. I went to the pancake breakfast, ice cream social, continental breakfast, and the lake cruise. Most of these have an extra charge, but it is very reasonably priced. Boat cruise $10 for example. You can fish right off the shore or their dock. Fishing license requited. There is an indoor swimming pool. Outside Jacuzzi, and exercise room. There is much to do in the area. LL is located very near ”The Village” which has many restaurants and quaint shops. I also rode the Mine Shaft Coaster, rented a bicycle and rode the North Shore Bike Path. A 3 hour zipline tour is located nearby. LL rents kayaks, stand up paddle boards, and even a pontoon boat. Their front desk is open 24 hours. Check in time is 5 p.m. And checkout on Friday through Sunday is 10 a.m. Checkout on other days is noon. They have two Internets - the basic which is free, and a higher bandwidth Internet for streaming, etc. that costs extra. My Verizon 4g on my smartphone worked great here, so I just used that. The rooms are a little dated which I have found is typical of a timeshare resort. My room had some door jams that had been jammed and needed some paint. The icemaker in the fridge worked great. There were 2 TVs. One in the living room and one in the bedroom. There was a DVD player. Mine didn't work, but I called and they sent someone up quickly to replace it. They rent DVDs for $2, and there is Redbox in Vons and Stater Brothers. The location is towards the very west end of town. The main grocery shopping centers are on the very other end of town. It is about 10 minutes to get to the other end. Because it was September, the town was not crowded except on weekends. So that part was soooo nice. I am used to Lake Tahoe and this is a much smaller lake and town. I do recommend this resort and would certainly stay here again. If you haven't been to Big Bear Lake, I recommend that you watch some YouTube videos about what to do in Big Bear. There are many with great ideas you will find. My pictures of deferred maintenance are why I did not give Lagonita a 5 rating.

GGuest UserThis older property is literally off of one of the busiest highways in California; traffic fatigue (our reason for stopping) and its proximity to Mountain High, etc. means that it is probably always full--would recommend a reservation. Room was very clean; nothing fancy, nothing more expected. Front desk staff very courteous and professional at check-in and check-out. Next to a gas station and close to a couple of fast food eateries. Two negatives for this place: 1) NO noise attenuation. Besides the traffic noise, you hear everything as people are moving in/out/about--it's like you're in a Foley studio. 2) If you're traveling with dogs, be aware that unpaved areas are covered with goat's head burrs. Be sure to check their paws and your shoes before entering the room or you will spend the next 30 minutes trying to find those burrs on the carpet. If you travel with good earplugs and garden gloves, and just need a place to crash on your SoCal travels, this place will suffice.

GGuest UserThe fee is fair, and room is clean. People who helped checking in are friendly. The hotel is very close to the high way, just exit high way in the second exit of Needles, and you can see the sign of the hotel. Though close to high, you can not hear high way traffic when sleeping. Only thing is that the sound of air condition machine is a little bit loud.

GGuest UserFor the price of there hotel go stay somewhere else. Don’t make the same mistake as I did. The whole thing started off bad. I booked the room last minute I should’ve did more research. The venue over location changed so I did call and ask if I can change the reservation to a different date or just stay one night, but since I booked a nonrefundable room they said no which is fine. It was my mistake but what I couldn’t handle was how abrupt and rude the manager was. He was cutting me off midsentence and wouldn’t even let me ask the question. I took it for what it was expecting to at least stay in a decent hotel. Me and three Young children that I had with me arrive later in the evening around 10 o’clock at night. Check-in was easy and the gentleman working was actually really nice. We get into the room and notice right away the smell walking down the hallway into the room. You can smell the cigarettes and it was a damp stench along with the cigarette smell. I looked around the room and noticed immediately that the room was filthy. There was foil with white powder residue stuck in the vents of the AC unit along with an inch of black dust. The bed was covered in the same black dust. I looked on the floor and all you can see is white bright spots throughout the whole carpet you can tell the carpet hasn’t been cleaned at all in a very long time. The cabinet was falling apart and more of the white residue was on the nightstands as they looked like they were peeling off. The walls were dented with black marks around all the walls not just one all of them. There was food stuck in between the walls and the bed it was completely disgusting. I knew right away I was in a drug room. I went downstairs and told the gentleman and he apologized he showed me another room that was a little bit better but not by much. The second room the bed was falling apart the same smell, and the floor was absolutely disgusting it was sticky as you walk to you had to wear shoes. There were stains on the bed and the bath towels you can see right through them. There was used chewing tobacco at the end of the bed on the floor. But it was so late we had to leave early so I made the girls just go to bed so we can try to get some rest before an early morning. We didn’t have much choice at this time because it was so late. We were up all night yelling neighbors upstairs. I know this was not the hotels fault but also felt with the type of hotel I was staying in and the people above us did not make me feel safe with three younger children. We leave for the day around six in the morning and come back to the hotel around 6 in the evening and realize that the TV is not working. I go to the front desk and a young girl lady was there. I said is there anything we can do about the TV I’m sorry that I have to complain. She immediately called the manager over. Once he came over I realized it is the same guy that I spoke with over the phone. He was immediately dismissive rolled his eyes and said

GGuest UserThis is not a hotel. The rooms are disgusting. The doors don’t work, the rooms are falling apart, they smell horrible and bed sheets are disgusting. Suspicious characters all over the area, dude smoking pot right outside the room. The front desk agents are kind and helpful, but they are working under abhorrent conditions, they should get a raise. Management needs to shut down operations and do a full renovation. Needless to say I got my money back and ran in the opposite direction.
