Hotel Contessa - Suites on the Riverwalk

We came for my sons AF Graduarion. Good location, only 15 min to and from airport and 15 min to and from Lackland AF base. Plenty of things to do down here. The Riverwalk is so nice. The Alamo is only a 8 min walk from the hotel. There is a bar downstairs and the drinks and nachos were really good! You get one free drink voucher per day worth $15. Only thing I didn’t like was valet costs $60 PER DAY!! Outrageous! When we called down each morning to have the valet get our car ready NO ONE EVER ANSWERED THE FRONT DESK #. Had to call 3-4 times to get an answer. Other than that, it was good.

Nice hotel, everyone is friendly and helpful. The location is outstanding, right on the Riverwalk! The rooftop pool and hot tub are wonderful. We enjoyed the restaurant/bar at the hotel, drinks were good and the food was too. Make sure to have a sticky bun for breakfast! mmmm If you are looking for a nice hotel on the Riverwalk - stay here you won't regret it.

The Space: Huge rooms with a very open, airy feel. The Location: A+ access. There’s a door behind the bar that leads straight to the Riverwalk, and you can easily walk to The Alamo. Parking: Valet is available, but there are cheaper public lots within a block or two. Food/Drink: No need to wander far for a good meal; the on-site restaurant and bar are great.

AC was so nice and cold! The room was beautiful. Corner rooms are so great. Bed was super comfortable.

It was a fun little trip. Will be always coming to Contessa only when in SA

The hotel looks very nice and smells very nice. I loved the "spa smell" when I first walked into the hotel. We were given a credit voucher for $15 when we checked in so that gave us a free lava cake dessert on the patio. Our room had a very nice view of the Riverwalk. We were also given a late checkout which was much appreciated.

The hotel itself is very nice, and the valet and bellhop staff were exceptionally friendly. The location is excellent, right on the Riverwalk, and the bed was very comfortable. The shower had great water pressure; however, if you’re tall, the shower head placement is not ideal—my husband is 5’10” and had to duck to use it. We would consider staying again, but on our last morning the toilet clogged and overflowed onto the floor. This was frustrating, especially since very little toilet paper had been used. Most people would consider a toilet overflow an urgent issue that requires immediate attention. We called for assistance, but no one ever came. It seemed as though staff assumed they could wait since we had a couple of hours before checkout, which was disappointing. As a result, my husband had to go to the ground floor to use the restroom, and we had to navigate around toilet water on the bathroom floor while getting ready.
