The management in this hotel is the most inconsiderate and exploitative possible. It is almost 2am and they still have loud music playing outdoors. The hotel is next to a protected, highlt sensitive ecological park full of mangoves and nesting for birds. It is also next to the descendants of the old lady the hotel bought the site from and the original owners were very respectful but Decameron is the worst. As a tourist, would you like to stay at a place like this instead of a peaceful, respectful and ecologically friendly hotel?

My recent stay at the Decameron Marazul San Andrés was a mix of positive and negative experiences. While some staff members, such as Hazam, Kaizei, Eder, Daphne, and Mrs. Lida, were exceptional in their attention, the hotel's infrastructure and certain services left much to be desired. Despite paying the full rate, my initial experience was disappointing and I have not received any monetary compensation for the inconveniences. The room assigned to me on the first night was in poor condition, with a paint smell and was not properly cleaned. The hotel's infrastructure shows signs of deterioration. The air conditioning was not working properly, there were flooding problems, and some facilities, such as beach chairs and restaurant curtains, were damaged. Additionally, the à la carte restaurant, Caravelle, was closed during my stay. The multi-vacation program turned out to be a disappointment. As a member, I expected better rates and benefits, but the booking process was complicated and the prices were not competitive. As for the services, the lack of hot water in the showers and problems with the toilets were inconveniences. I also miss having healthier options at the bar, such as natural juices and sugar-free drinks. Despite these drawbacks, the kindness of some employees and the improvement in the quality of food were positive aspects of my stay. However, I consider that the value for money was not as expected. I recommend that the hotel invest in maintaining its facilities, improve basic services, and offer a more attractive multi-vacation program for its members.

The hotel is in serious need of maintenance. The air conditioning didn’t work, there was no water during our stay, and we weren’t provided with towels. Lights and door handles in the room were broken, and the gym equipment was unusable. To top it off, there’s no beach as advertised. The only positive aspect was the staff, who were amazing. They worked tirelessly with the limited resources available, handled constant complaints with professionalism, and kept the hotel very clean. That said, I don’t recommend this hotel. Please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. We felt completely ripped off—paying a premium price for substandard conditions was deeply disappointing.

This is the worst hotel in San Andrés!! Stay away front desk service is terrible. Way far from luxury hotel. Terrible service terrible hotel and the smell is awful. Don’t waste your hard earned money here. They wanted to charge us for arriving 2 hrs early just to wait around the hotel. Had the nerve to tell us we could wait outside the hotel and they keep our bags. Food is terrible everything is terrible in this hotel nothing you see in pictures.

This place is no "first class paradise". Far from it. When we visited Marazul in July the air conditioning wasn't working. It wasn't working in the reception area, and it wasn't working in our room, where the temperature was 32 degrees celsius (90 degrees fahrenheit), but they told us it would be working soon, so we went to the pool. There were a lot of angry guests at the pool complaining about the air conditioning, and while we were there a young woman cut her foot on broken glass in the pool, so went to the beach, but there was a lot of garbage in the water and it smelled foul. We packed up and demanded a refund, so they sent us to another Decameron property, San Luis, which is less expensive, and they refused to refund the difference. Avoid this place.

When we arrived we were told the rooms were not ready until 3:00pm. At 5:00pm our room still was't ready, however observed several Spanish speaking families being assigned rooms, hours after we arrived. When I questioned our room, I was told "don't worry, still trying to get it cleaned". 95% of the staff was rude and unfriendly. Body language was always unfriendly and unwelcoming. If you didn't speak Spanish they would not assist you with anything. They would pass over you for a Spanish speaking customer. They would laugh at you if you try to communicate with them. One bar tender snickered and said "Your "spanglish" is silly. However there were 2 very nice staff members, the cleaning lady on our floor as well as one bar tender, "Guadalupe" Always a hello and a smile. The rooms were extremely dated. No hot water in the facility, so every day started with a cold shower. On the last day when we checked out, I was loading our suit cases into a taxi and overheard one of the bell men say to me "give me a dollar, give me a dollar" I chose to ignore him and not engage after the way we were treated all week and just wanted to go home.

The island is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. But do not go to an all inclusive, speaciallya DECAMERON. Service is terrible, we had check in At 3 and they took 2 hours to give us the room, they treat you like they are doing you a favor. Food is terrible, rooms stink, and they dont even have shadow in the the Pool. Words experience EVER. Do NOT loose your money here.

Overall, I enjoyed many positive aspects, but I also noticed some areas that could benefit from improvement. Positive Aspects: -The small beach in front of the hotel is super convenient. The option of kayaks is a lot of fun. -There are recreational activities during the day and night, such as yoga, dance classes, beach cinema for kids, dance performances, contests, etc. -I appreciate Hazam's openness and cooperation when needed. -Isidro was extremely helpful, and his advice on how to enjoy our vacation was very accurate. The yoga class was also a very pleasant experience. -John proved to be a kind person and a leader concerned about the well-being of the hotel. -Daphne stood out for her joy and attentive service. -Kaisy left a positive impression with her kindness and unique style. Her braids are wonderful. -The person who welcomed us as Multivacaciones members pleasantly surprised us with a nice detail (sparkling wine) for one of our dinners. Areas for Improvement: -Repair the damaged lights on the pier and restore the roofs of the beds on the pier. -Improve the quality of natural juices in the restaurants. -Review and replace towels that are worn or stained. -Regarding the cleanliness of the shower in the room, it is not clear whether the shower was cleaned along with the room during our stay. Negative Aspects: -The experience of making reservations with Multivacaciones was frustrating, as the initially offered prices were considerably higher than those available to non-members (considering the cost of memberships). This discrepancy creates a sense of deception and requires additional calls to obtain discounts, consuming valuable time. -The promotions sent by email are not convenient, as they only apply during the low season. -I suggest a clear and transparent pricing structure for affiliates, eliminating the need to negotiate with advisors. I appreciate the attention given, and I hope these comments contribute to further improving the experience for future guests. Overall, it was a good experience, and I am confident that with these adjustments, your resort will be even more exceptional.

please, do yourself a favor and do not stay in this hotel, the food is terrible, the service is terrible, beds are super hard to sleep on, their all inclusive is a joke, you want a coffee around 6pm, well, they dont really have it available, only until 5:45, do you want to play tennis at night? no cant do, only when the “activities person” is on site during their day. Their hotel activities are sad to say the least, felt like I was watching a high school presentation, and again, the food is TERRIBLE. There is NO WIFI in the rooms and the hotel WIFI just doesn’t work properly, you cant do a work call there because the wifi that they have on the lobby is so slow. no AC in the lobby or “working area” so you will burn in hell while working if you really have to work. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM THIS PLACE. stay at SAMAWI hotel instead, nice, clean, ok service, close to a good beach and shops. I stayed there before moving to Decameron and what a mistake did I made.
