My recent stay at the Decameron Marazul San Andrés was a mix of positive and negative experiences. While some staff members, such as Hazam, Kaizei, Eder, Daphne, and Mrs. Lida, were exceptional in their attention, the hotel's infrastructure and certain services left much to be desired. Despite paying the full rate, my initial experience was disappointing and I have not received any monetary compensation for the inconveniences. The room assigned to me on the first night was in poor condition, with a paint smell and was not properly cleaned. The hotel's infrastructure shows signs of deterioration. The air conditioning was not working properly, there were flooding problems, and some facilities, such as beach chairs and restaurant curtains, were damaged. Additionally, the à la carte restaurant, Caravelle, was closed during my stay. The multi-vacation program turned out to be a disappointment. As a member, I expected better rates and benefits, but the booking process was complicated and the prices were not competitive. As for the services, the lack of hot water in the showers and problems with the toilets were inconveniences. I also miss having healthier options at the bar, such as natural juices and sugar-free drinks. Despite these drawbacks, the kindness of some employees and the improvement in the quality of food were positive aspects of my stay. However, I consider that the value for money was not as expected. I recommend that the hotel invest in maintaining its facilities, improve basic services, and offer a more attractive multi-vacation program for its members.
