The Sierra Inn is in a perfect location for using as a hub to travel around to all the neighboring towns like Sutter Creek, Columbia, Angels Camp, and Jackson. Our room was comfortable, clean, and tastefully decorated. It looks just as the photo shows on their site. We stayed on a Friday night and comparing the price to other hotels and motels in the area, it was extremely reasonable. In addition to its excellent location, being reasonably priced, and having a clean comfortable room, it’s walking distance to numerous restaurants and bars. We walked to the Patio Drive In for breakfast, El Mezcal Grill for dinner (the shrimp quesadilla was delicious), and Gooney’s Bar and Grill for after dinner drinks. We would definitely stay at this hotel/motel again.

I thought it was a little pricey but there is not a lot of choice in San Andreas. The rooms are very nice. I know it is a little older but has been update and some nice touches. It was clean, comfortable and fairly quiet.

incredible value for money! better than most motels we’ve stayed and we have stayed in a lot! they state it’s one star but feels like a three star easily! very friendly staff and comfortable clean rooms that just was renovated. can warmly recommend this place on the way to Yellowstone. Very nice room with comfortable beds, fresh linens/towels and a great shower! Had microwave oven, fridge, coffee maker, tv and usb chargers/power outlets conveniently located between the beds. Even if located on the main road the room is not that noisy. The bathroom mirror is high-tech, with heating removing any fog from the shower. It even has a light that can change color :-)

I have visited this location throughtout the years always promising new ownership and renovating of rooms and of course they always miss the mark. So i hear they have once again renovated the rooms and had different owners whom lived on the property and ran the office. I thought okay ill give benefit of the doubt. So upon arriving the exterior still looks like garbage. We went to office and shocker no one was able to be found. Called no answer. Thinking these new owners r so unprofessional. Finally what seemed like forever here come Lorette from who knows where. And i thought it was under new ownership and different staff this is the same gross washed up tweeker thats been there for years. She appologized said she was attending laundry but didnt come from laundry room. She also informed me that the new owners were away for the weekend and left her incharge....what a joke. So i told her that id be staying for sure the whole weekend and maybe into the following week. Skeptical of everything cause it all seemed to be bs. I requested to see the room that i would be renting and wow did it seem to be a problem to show me the room first like i was making an incovience for her. I mean i am paying out of my pocket. So needless to stay the rude attitude i recieved i took my money and went to jackson may have payed alot more but sure didnt have to deal with her and her mood swings. After all these year sometimes you nees to know when to just let it go. Or ownwers need to realize that shes more of the problem then the solution. Thats even if there is new owners or even renovated room as i never got to actually see.

The rooms we stayed in were recently renovated, clean, modern, and fairly nice, minus some small issues of a backed up shower drain, some stained towels, faint chemical and smoke smells, and loud AC units. When I first checked in, the reception area reeked of in-scents so strong I could barely breath. The checkin process took forever just to issue us keys. Throughout our stay we noticed many interesting characters hanging out around the motel and in the parking area, occasionally crying, screaming, or hacking up a cough. We later learned that while several rooms have been recently renovated, many have not been and are the main residence of some locals. We also learned that while the town is pretty safe, almost all the crime happens around the Sierra Inn and were warned to not leave any valuables unattended in our cars or rooms. The most obnoxious part of our stay was that every time we saw the reception staff, they would insist that if we liked the rooms we needed to give them a good review online. It would be one thing if this was a one time comment, but this happened at least three times throughout our two night stay. Overall, the rooms weren’t bad and we didn’t have any major issues, but I don’t think I would stay here again in the future knowing what I know now.
