The rooms we stayed in were recently renovated, clean, modern, and fairly nice, minus some small issues of a backed up shower drain, some stained towels, faint chemical and smoke smells, and loud AC units. When I first checked in, the reception area reeked of in-scents so strong I could barely breath. The checkin process took forever just to issue us keys. Throughout our stay we noticed many interesting characters hanging out around the motel and in the parking area, occasionally crying, screaming, or hacking up a cough. We later learned that while several rooms have been recently renovated, many have not been and are the main residence of some locals. We also learned that while the town is pretty safe, almost all the crime happens around the Sierra Inn and were warned to not leave any valuables unattended in our cars or rooms. The most obnoxious part of our stay was that every time we saw the reception staff, they would insist that if we liked the rooms we needed to give them a good review online. It would be one thing if this was a one time comment, but this happened at least three times throughout our two night stay. Overall, the rooms weren’t bad and we didn’t have any major issues, but I don’t think I would stay here again in the future knowing what I know now.
