In January 2024, my best friend and I stayed two nights in a standard unit. More luxurious quality than expected and a little more expensive than our usual accommodation, but the experience was definitely worth the detour. Magnificent site, a little out of the center of San Agustin. Architecture of the houses, shaped like a hut with a pointed roof made of palm and bamboo, really special and very pretty with the careful landscaping. Clean, comfortable and in a superb environment. Magnificent panorama with a view of the green Magdalena canyon. Helpful and available staff. Excellent food and diverse choices for breakfast included. We even had a campfire.

We travelled here on the last leg of our three-week holiday in Colombia. The hotel could not be better. From start to finish we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Masaya. We stayed in a suite with mountain view. Not just any view, it was probably one of the best landscape vistas of any hotel we have stayed in anywhere in the world. Our room was a two-tiered thatched detached building with glorious views over the Magdalena valley. Downstairs had lots of seating, a lovely balcony, coffee maker, a large bathroom with great rain shower and constant hot water. Upstairs there was a very comfortable king bed with a second balcony and a wooden swing to enjoy the view. Good lighting throughout and lots of electric points both upstairs and downstairs.  All the rooms are either detached or semi-detached and located down gravel paths surrounded by a dense patchwork of trees giving total privacy. There is a large central reception lounge and dining area. Lots of games for rainy day activity. As the hotel is located about 20 minutes’ walk out of San Agustin, it was more convenient to dine in during the evening. All the food we chose was excellent, well prepared and tasty. Plenty of options for breakfast too. Lastly, we would like to add a kind word for all the staff. They were so friendly and helpful without exception. It was a perfect way to end our holiday.

Best best best hotel we stayed at, I’ve never been to San Agustin (yes, im a Huila native) and when I saw this hotel online I knew I had to stay here so I booked 2 rooms which were side by side. This hotel is just as pictured, so original from the area next to a beautiful lush canyon and surrounded by lush! The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff are super helpful and amazing, my husband and I wanted to get a massage as we read these were available and they arranged this for us right away for the same day! We enjoyed the breakfast here every day, as they had great options and was delicious! They have some board games you can borrow as well. Even though it was pretty rainy and chilly we had an amazing, relaxing and pleasant time at Masaya and would love to be back someday!

Positively delightful. The setting is beautiful and the hotel itself is lovely and very original. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff go out of their way to make your stay unforgetable; everything is organised for you. The food in the restaurant is amazing and very varied. Mariana

Masaya is a tranquil oasis! The cabins are situated among beautiful gardens along a scenic cabin above a roaring river (Magdalena). The cabin was clean and well designed with small sweet touches like a pitcher of drinking water, a light switch next to the bed. The balcony opened to a gorgeous view and the only sounds were birds and waterfalls. The lobby had a great bar with excellent food. I recommend the maracuja mojito and any of the amazing steaks. I can’t say enough about our experience!

Our family stayed during New Years eve 2022. Excellent hotel. Great location, near the town center but accesible only easily by car. The staff absolutely great, specially Lorena at the front desk. The rooms are a bit far form the main lobby/ gathering area/ restaurant and if it rains one gets wet easily even if they offer umbrellas for guests but they were always occupied. The food amazing! Restaurant service though slow and some dishes were never available. They offer tours that are great and our guides were always the best! The staff at the bar is always smiling and helpful and the cocktails were wonderful. The hotel has a sort of balcony looking towards the magdalena straight and it is great to relax in. Overall it is by far the best hotel in the area and worth every penny!

Thank you because the hotel, de amenities, and the relaxing time that we enjoyed was lovely. The coctels, the music, the landscape, the rooms, was as we expected. Just for us was expensive the Jacuzzi cost, it should be a free amenity.

Our room overlooked the Magdalena valley with magnificent views from the balcony. The beds were very comfortable and there was a good bathroom. But there needs to be more space to store clothes. We had only a drawer, a small shelf and small hanging rail with a couple of hangers. Not enough for 2 people! The restaurant and bar are excellent! I recommend the wonderful cocktails! The menu is innovative and the cooking is fantastic. Excellent breakfasts too. We really enjoyed eating there. The staff were super friendly and helpful.

The Masaya Hotel is situated at a beautiful location. Our room had an amazing view over the Magdalena river. The room is spacious, the food is good, there is an opportunity to play billiards or table tennis, the hotel offers help with booking activities. The only thing is that there is no heating in the room and one blanket was not enough as it can be very chilly here. I couldn't sleep because of the cold.
