Hotel San Agustin Beach Club

We spent 2 weeks here. One of the best things is how close it is to the sea, you can feel the sea breeze from your balcony and sleep with the door open hearing the waves. The breakfast was very good, staff was helpful as well. There are good restaurants near by and it is a short walk to the shopping center. Overall nicely old fashioned style but a bit dated.

Hotel is located next ti beach. Very clean place and friedly stuff. Most of guest are little older, so no kids in here. Nice pool area. Breakfast is very good. We had dinner in three nighst. It was five course menu but just avarage and I would think about that again.

We stayed for 6 nights in a double room on a half-board basis. It was a peaceful and relaxing stay. All staff members were friendly and helpful. Our room on the 3rd floor overlooked the pool and sea. It was very clean, came with a coffee machine, and kettle, and a tv with a few English channels. Our bed was really comfortable and we slept very well. The bathroom came with complimentary supplies including soap, shower gel and shampoo, plus other bits. The shower was hot with a decent pressure. WiFi good in our room. Only negative in our room was the lack of available plug/USB sockets - and none of them were anywhere near the bed. There was one in the bathroom, one near the chairs, and one behind the TV cabinet, which we had to pull out to get access. There is a good size safe inside the room, but this is an additional charge (€2.50 per day). Breakfast was by the pool each morning with a good selection of hot and cold food and drink. Most of the evening meals are in the same area, often with evening entertainment provided. One evening, everyone sat together inside the restaurant. All the food was presented nicely, but whether it was breakfast or dinner, the cooked food was never served hot - lukewarm at best! Maybe it’s a Spanish thing?! We’re not sure if this is normal but we would have preferred our food to be a hotter temperature. The evening meals were also lacking herbs/spices and were a little bland. Pool area was great. Looked at the gym but it has only 3 pieces of cardio and a handful of very light dumbbells. It’s also in a room with no natural light - not enticing to workout in. The sauna is also in this room, but on the occasion we went to use it, it wasn’t on. There was no sign to say it’s out of order or how customers should turn it on. Overall we enjoyed our time here, we would come back, and would recommend the hotel to anyone looking to visit Gran Canaria.

Another lovely stay spoilt in part by the strange actions of a foreign couple who continuously wedged open the fire escape door immediately next to their room for use as their personal quick exit to the beach, bar, pool etc. This allowed cold draughts at night blow into our bedroom and noise from the adjacent cafe keep us awake at night. Whilst the cleaners usually closed it in the morning and I closed it once or twice, it was soon miraculously open again soon after. I presume the occupants were aware we weren’t happy as they always smirked and grinned whenever they saw us. We are not ones to complain but in future we will. We will return but will not put up with such stupid selfish action again.

Do not choose halfboard. The set five-course dinner every night is more or less the same, the same ingredients more or less and tastes absolutely nothing. The restaurant needs a new chef with knowledge of good cooking and spices. Stay away from this restaurant!

Very loud bad music in the hotel. I came here to relax because i was exhausted, i left even more exhausted. Even with headphones you could hear the bad live music that maked my vacation in to a nightmare!! Never again!!!!!
