The rooms are a decent size but the toilet and bathroom is small. The room is equipped with the usual amenities. The room was however not cleaned properly. There was a lot hair on floor that was not swept up. The breakfast area is a huge banquet hall and lacked the personal touch. Service was mediocre. It seems that they were understaffed. Would I return? No. The hotel is in walking distance to Registan Square. It is a pleasant walk if the weather is good.

The reason this hotel gets this rating is thanks to its incredible front desk staff. They go over and above to make sure that your stay is as seamless and as comfortable as possible. A special thanks to front desk for sorting out a room issue and to Timur for swiftly dealing with a transfer to the train station and helping with a taxi - he made an otherwise stressful situation very easeful. The staff are the friendliest and nicest part of this hotel. The hotel is steps away from Gur-i- Amir mausoleum and in a very nice part of Samarkand so very convenient, but overall the hotel needs a refresh - and housekeeping needs to be trained on how to clean rooms properly. If you want a suite with a good view, the best option is booking the apartment suites. The regular suites are at the back of the hotel and overlook the city. I would opt for a regular room in this hotel. Also, any transfers to the train station or airport need to be booked 12 hours in advance - something to bear in mind as getting taxis with boot space for luggage is difficult.

Hotel location is unbeatable. Rooms are okay. Comfortable. We booked the suite with living room but were not happy with the room. Hotel staff were super helpful and offered an upgrade. Zukhra at the reception was very patient. Fantastic service with fabulous recommendations on eating options and touring. Timir and Alexandra were awesome too and helped with taxi bookings etc.

Something of an embarrassment for the Movenpick brand. 1. On check-in, the toilet in my room was dirty. It hadn’t been cleaned since the previous guest. I flagged this immediately. 5 hours later the hotel still not cleaned it, and I had to complain to two other members of staff. 2. Impersonal approach from staff. Seemed impatient and no customer focus. 3. Front desk constantly understaffed with long waits. 4. I asked the manager to contact me to discuss the above, and received no response. Avoid.

The hotel is quite well located, the rooms are big and clean, pool area. These are the good features. The hotel is very impersonal, staff does not speak (sufficient) English, breakfast is below what I expect from Mövenpick. Pool area is all concrete and not nice.

very well located..walking distance from good restaurants and from the main square..good rooms..very comfortable size..excellent breakfast with a varied selection and served in a very large room..so never crowded..helpful staff..

Perfect Location for Samarakand. The staff were welcoming, rooms clean, and food was decent. The hotel is 20 minute ride by Taxi from Samarkand Railway Station but, is walkable distance to two of the must visit spots - Registan Square (1km away) and Gul-i-Amir complex (250 meters away). And its on University Boulevard - the majestic road in Samarkand. I would recommend this hotel for visits to Samarakand

Very good hotel. It is perfectly located in the heart of the city, within walking distance of major attractions like Registan Square and Timur Mausoleum. The room is quite spacious with all necessary amenities. The towels are nice and soft. Breakfast has a good variety, especially in sweets. The coffee beans are not the best, but okay. There is a good selection of souvenirs for last minute shopping. I didn't receive help with my luggage when I checked in, not sure of the reason, although the hotel wasn't busy at that time. The staff is very nice and patient, especially the bar and reception staff. A big thank you to Fazilat, Marjona, Timur, Shaxzod, Sherzod and Mukhsiddin. They have a really pleasant smile and are very welcoming. I would definitely come back for their professionalism. I highly recommend this hotel and to chat with them when having your drink at the bar or a meal at the restaurant. Thank you all!

Very grand for a Movenpick. Restaurant a bit over the top but breakfast room much nicer. Huge atrium. Helpful staff. Rooms perfectly adequate, breakfast definitely better than adequate. Overall a good place but not much in terms of local colour.
