The hotel is conveniently located, 15 minutes walk to Registan. There are no cafes or shops around, there is a pompous restaurant in the neighboring hotel, and the nearest eateries are 10-15 minutes away. The area is lively. You expect some luxury from Continental, but there is none - a modest hotel. No piano hall, no cigar bar, a very modest spa, a gym - a secluded room in the corner with a path and five exercise machines. Breakfast is meager and not particularly tasty. But you will not go hungry. They will make an omelet on request, we did not see a coffee machine, only a coffee maker. The Internet on our floor did not work two days out of four, we asked to look - no use. We had to use a mobile. To change money - there is never a cashier. The oriental atmosphere is completely absent.

Breakfast is simple with few choices. The shower room drains very slowly.

High speck decor and grand hotel however a very big let down. Very high speck fixtures and fitting however the finishing is very low speck. Our shower tray was not draining properly. It was like having a shower and bath at the same time. Water was leaking from the shower onto the bathroom floor. Istinja fittings on toilet but not connected. All tourist spots within walking distance. There is no cafe in hotel. Asked for iron 3 times I ended up going down for it myself only to be given a faulty iron. Nice bakery and cafe down the road.

Absolutely wonderful staff. Always friendly and helpful. Room is large and has a nice AC. TV is kinda limited in English but hey we are in Uzbekistan. I found the beds a bit firm and three single beds in the room was odd. Decent breakfast. Clean bath area.
