Travelodge Saltash

Mattress one of the worst I’ve ever slept on, would have been more comfy on the carpet in the corridor. 3 hours sleep at the most. When I did get up I had a look at the mattress and found it to be yellow. Positives - the friendly welcome and location.

Just on the edge of Saltash, but convenient for our family "do" at the nearby country club, this was basic accommodation, but affordable. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. It was fine for an overnight stay. No complaints. Staff were helpful.

Sheesh Travelodge where to begin. Awful location in Saltash, don't be fooled by the pictures, the last time the exterior looked like that was probably on opening day! It's full of weeds, stained paving and unkept gardens, attached to the back of a service station. It resembles a prison! I booked for breakfast because it's my kids favourite part of a holiday...but didn't realise 'Breakfast on the go', was just a pre-packaged box of goods, not a cooked breakfast. So I ammended my booking a few days before I arrived...which I was charged £10 for, and removed the breakfast because I didn't want it. I arrived to ask about my refund of £75, where dear Gary at reception just shrugged his shoulders and said "I don't know, maybe it's still being processed" and then pretended to do something on the computer... and then after 5mins just slid my room key over hoping I had forgotten! And said "it's all got really confusing"...nope, pretty f*@king easy to understand actually! ...so I didn't take the breakfast expecting a refund, only to be told when I got back home that it was non refundable! (A pre-packed box of goods!!) Why allow you to take it off on the booking system in the first place, or why do the staff not know anything about the refunding of extras! So easy to fix!! Gary also tried to charge me again for my pet, so there's clearly no systems integrations between hotel and the booking system. The room was dirty, we found someone else's sock under the bed, the carpet smelt of wee, one of our sheets were stained with blood, beds were so uncomfortable, we hardly slept. As a family holiday we obviously made a really stupid decision. But everything from booking to check in to hotel room, to support...was just so sub standard, I'm not even sure how this hotel is open! So being £75 down on a 'non-refundable' breakfast and a pretty rubbish hotel I think it's fair to say it's my first and last time staying at a Travelodge! I'm all for budget hotels because our holidays are more about being in the local environment and just coming home to a comfortable room...I don't need any fancy extras....but this is the first time I've ever felt completely ripped off, which takes a lot because I'm pretty chilled and easy to please! I'll stick with Premier Inn in future because I have yet to have a bad experience.

This was our first stay in Saltash and we chose it as it was cheaper than Plymouth! So this travelodge is situated in a services. It’s due an upgrade and looks very tired, with stained carpets and very creaky floors. Honestly walking along the corridor quietly was absolutely impossible and I felt awful for the people in the first rooms there as they will have heard every footstep like an earthquake! (If you get offered room 1, politely decline it!) Our room was upstairs and there is no lift so if you have lots of luggage good luck to you! Luckily we only had a couple of small bags, but there’s 14 steps up to the second floor. The room itself is a standard travelodge room but really needs a bit of love. There are no sockets near the bed sadly so you can’t charge your phone by the bed. The biggest sadness however was the lack of bathtub, now I know they use too much water but I love them and so not having one was sad! All in all though it was basic cheap and much needed. There’s a Burger King and subway on site too . Have fun!!

We have been using Travelodge Saltash for many years when visiting family. The Staff have always been friendly and helpful, our room has always been clean and tidy, with all the facilities working. After a long journey, the large bed is very welcome !!! Parking is free and plentiful, we have never encountered any problems. There is no doubt that the hotel could do with an upgrade at some stage in the future.

The hotel was very clean, no cleanliness issues at all. Staff were friendly. Free parking and plenty of spaces. Couldn't hear any noise at night. Places around the area to be able to eat subway and burger king on site. Near by Waitrose, Greggs, McDonald's and Costa all near by. The room it's self was cold on arrival but once got warm was lovely. The hotel is in need of a refit as it is very dated, however this is not the teams fault. The Tamar bridge only a couple of miles away to get away access to Plymouth. Bed was very comfortable. TV size was great with a variety of channels. We will be back again.
