Friendly and accommodating staff, large room, comfortable bed, with pleasant living area outside room. Pool is on the small side and the crowd of inhabitants the day we were there was on the sprawling side…so we couldn’t use it. Valet parking is very useful.

Lovely hotel, great location in the centre and we returned after journeying north. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Our rooms were very clean, spacious and comfortable. We spent time on the roof terrace and in the small but adequate pool. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast with a good range of fresh fruit, pastries, meats and cheeses. Eggs were freshly cooked as requested. All served in a delightful breakfast room. This hotel deserves 5 stars for the warmth and comfort it provided.

It is a beautiful hotel. Only the airconditioning has two settings: off and “Arctic-freeze”. Noticing this at check in I told the receptionist who did do nothing with my remarks. Back in the evening, as there was no fan I tried to get a nice temperature by opening the window. In order to do that I had to move most of the furniture. Even though outside was 19 degrees it did not help. I asked for another room (1 am). It had the same over-active airco. Back to my room I tried to block the vent of the airco with toilet paper and moved my bed away. But still the airco was blowing over my head. So I lifted the other matress to make a shield (3 am). Still, the arctic freeze did prevent my - by the time overheated body- to catch sleep. Airco off again followed by an airco on some 15 min later. Finally after one more “off” sleep got the better over me (4:30). Until at 6:30 the street noise became unbearable. I was there for the recce of a rally which would have stayed two nights at this hotel. Upon check out the clerk was not interested in the non functioning airco. Most of the rooms have the same issue he told me. Oh, and for those planning a winter stay. The heating has the same on-off principle. A shame. Because, at first sight, the hotel looks absolutely great.

While the location is good, overlooking its own attractive plaza, the hotel itself is nothing special. The old building greets its guests in a lobby arrayed with some decaying furniture (literally a chair broke as I sat on it) and a few vaguely historical-looking oil paintings. Nicely quaint, I suppose, but our room was mediocre at best with a good sized bed but the ancient bathroom was in serious need of maintenance. Breakfast was passable with the usual fiambre, fruit and weak coffee, but again nothing that you couldn't get elsewhere. For the price this hotel charges, one would really expect more. This is a facility in sore need of a serious makeover.
