The resort and the grounds around it are absolutely stunning! The breakfast was also lovely. The rest of the stay was extremely underwhelming. Our room was so small that they could only fit one nightstand in it. This sounds like a small thing but it’s really inconvenient to be comfortable without a nightstand. I was also a bit shocked that the room didn’t include any type of mini fridge, coffee or tea service or TV. The resort is very far from town so not having a fridge makes it very tricky to eat dinner on the property. The oddest thing about the hotel is definitely the amenity situation. They advertise the pool and hot tub but they actually charge $220 per couple to use the amenities- and that’s only for 90 minutes! I have never seen this and I travel very often. The pools were empty the entire time (expect for owners or staff who don’t have to pay to use them) and it just felt really rude. Mind you these rooms cost well over $600 per night plus taxes. We saw one couple try to jump in the hot tub and the male owner went running over scolding them and eventually agreed to let them use it just briefly. They had to really plead to use it and it just doesn’t make any sense to me. We asked if we could use it and post some pictures online and they agreed to waive the fee for Instagram picture. It was all.. just extremly odd. I would consider returning if they ever decided to let guests use the pools . Until then I would rather stay at a competing hotel that actually allows you to use the onsite amenities.

'24 hour espresso bar' per website does not exist. Very limited breakfast menu. Double room with only one armchair to look at the ocean views, bed construction such that you could break your knees getting past it on one side, or whack your head on the other. Not sure this is an actual hotel.

Our two-night stay at Lightwater Cove was delightfully relaxing and a world away from routine and the bustle and stresses of everyday living. As soon as we stepped over the threshold into the warm expansive embrace of the light and space of the interior and gazed out over the cove, ocean, and mountains on the far horizon, there was a feeling of calm and tranquility. Hosts Greg and Monica are ideal hosts, offering gentle guidance and tips for making the most of our stay on magical Saltspring Island. The design of the buildings, spa, yoga space, and extensive landscaped gardens reflects beauty and superb quality throughout. Looking forward to our next stay!

We spent our 30th anniversary here and the place is every bit as gorgeous as the photos. I just read a one star review before writing this, and honestly if you're looking for a full spa experience with numerous amenities and a staff to wait on your every need, this is not the place for you. For us, we wanted quiet, tranquil, and serene, with a view, a comfortable bed, and minimal interactions with other humans. We got exactly this. Do note the use of the pool, sauna and spa requires purchasing a separate package for this for a 1.5 hour session. Also if you are in the Heron Nest guesthouse, you have to walk up to the main building to get your morning coffee (or bring your own coffee and use the kitchen in that building to make it and clean up after), and in bad weather that's kind of a bummer. But speaking of service, the staff was so kind to arrange for a brief Northern Lights appearance on the eve of our anniversary ;-)

Lightwater Cove was little more than a stunning place to be wildly disappointed. Almost half an hour from local shops, cafes and restaurants and with no kitchenettes in the rooms, guests have no access to warm meals or specialty coffees after 10am. Staff was almost non-existent and the minimal service received was mediocre at best. If you are looking for an expensive place to lay your head at the end of the day, it works. If you're looking to be well-treated, well-served and well-fed, your time and money would be much better spent in the high-end spas, delicious restaurants and above-and-beyond service available elsewhere

We had a wonderful, relaxing, and peaceful experience at Lightwater Cove. The owner's personal touch was refreshing, and the staff was helpful. We look forward to returning soon. We had a massage and facial at the spa and would give them a 5-star rating. Nature, ponds, and beautiful flowers surrounded us.

I was looking for a special place for our 20 year anniversary. This was definitely it. The serenity and scenic views were more than I had expected. As this whole venture was a total surprise to my wife, she was totally overwhelmed. The views from our room were spectacular in all directions. The architecture of buildings and design of the farm areas are indescribable so I won't even try but if you ask Monika, one of the owners, she would love to give you a history of Lightwater Cove Farm and how it came to be. As you listen to her, her voice projects the love and pride of what she and her husband have accomplished -- a dream for all to share. Thank you for your vision and thank you for allowing us to share in your accomplishments.

Lightwater Cove was absolutely beautiful! Owner Greg was an incredible host and went out of his way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The place is super clean, modern, peaceful and we would happily stay there again. We would strongly recommend it.
