H10 Mediterranean Village exceeded our expectations. We had a one-bedroom apar**ent for 3 adults. The kitchen contained a fridge (no freezer compar**ent, but not a major issue for us). It also had cooking rings, microwave and an array of useful utensils. We didn’t use these though as we were half board. Also provided was a very handy small washing up kit with liquid, sponge and cloth, and a tea towel. The bathroom was spacious with a long surface beside the sink, so we could all unpack our toiletries. It had a wonderful, powerful shower, and hair conditioner was provided alongside the shampoo and shower gel (which is unusual in my experience). There was plenty of wardrobe space in the bedroom, with enough room to also stow the suitcases. My big disappoin**ent was that the mattress was too hard. We couldn’t work out the safe (provided free of charge) for the first couple of days, but eventually managed it! (Written instructions would be useful.) The balcony was the best and biggest we’ve had. It overlooked a quiet back access street (no traffic) and a forest of pine trees. It was very peaceful but a bit cool as it didn’t get the sun. An airer was supplied and a table, but only 2 chairs. We asked for another chair but were told that only 2 are allowed per balcony. I think they should supply the number of chairs for the number of occupants. The wristbands are a fabulous idea. They serve as the key to the room and you can also top them up with money to buy drinks and snacks, saving the worry of having to carry keys/cash/credit cards when you’re at the pool. There were plenty of loungers by the pools, although it was the beginning of the season so it might be busier in peak season. They are a bit short in leg room though when the headrest is at maximum height. The outdoor pools were freezing, so the best way to get in is to jump straight in – like ripping off a plaster – and it doesn’t take long to acclimatise. Very refreshing and cooling! The onsite shop is small, so not a huge selection, but has many essentials and quite reasonably priced. The food at breakfast and dinner was absolutely delicious and well presented. Fresh, plentiful and a wide variety. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The hotel is lovely and clean. The best tip I got before I went was to buy a Bus Plana Carta. It’s 10 Euros for a card that gives you 10 bus journeys. You just tap the machine beside the driver (one tap per person) and take a ticket. If you need to top it up with another 10 journeys it then only costs 6.10 Euros. For instance, 1 journey can be from Cap Salou to Cambrils, or Salou, or Tarragona. I would recommend H10 Mediterranean Village and would definitely stay here again. (Have gone for 4 stars because of the mattress, number of chairs on balcony, and short sun loungers!)
