H10 Salou Princess

I am currently at the hotel and wanted to leave this feedback now, while I care and have time. I will try to be objective and hope both future guests and hotel management will find this review useful. I am here with a 5-yo son, and overal we are having a good experience apart from a few things i will describe below. Positives - the food is great both quality and variety. Be aware, any coffee with milk rom coffee machine is disgusting, I would take black and top it up with fresh milk.Juices are all from the machine, but the hotel offers lots of fresh fruit and for me this is far more important! Canteen is managed perfectly, with no lag, there is order, it is very clean and the dirty dishes are baing removed immediately. I am very impressed. Housekeeping is appauling. While the rooms are cleaned daily, noone cleaned our balcony even once. My room lacks drying rack, noone suggested to put one in, when I raised the issue I was told none are left. There is a layer of dust above my headboard for months, and tonns of hair on the balcony. The cleaner doesn't bother to clean in corners, doesn't bother removing dorty dishes, doesn't wipe dust (or crumps) on the table. The room has no kettle and minubar is not offered - just the empty fridge. In a way empty minubar is a blessing, as there is a supermarket nearby and it is easy and cheap to get your own drinks, so not complaining here. The hotel operates programme and all information is available through QR code, however, there was none in our room, and untill 6th day in we didn't know it exists, and how to get in touch with the hotel reception as there isn't a single leaflet in the room. The swimming pool is great - clean, good size, there is baby pool too. One of the safetyguards is continuously in his phone, there is no way he could save anyone, but the usual one is very vigealant. Good energetic water aerobics instructor. Timing for water polo is poor - at 4pm when people cime back from the seaside and after nap, and everyone has to wait for 1 hr untill they are done. Would be best tokeep it till 6pm. The pool bar is really good, food is made quickly, drinks are also good. Reception is very helpful, they do try to help but unfortunately there seems to be a disconnect between them and hpusekeeping who took once 6 hrs to deliver us towels. When oir aircon was broken we have received help very quiclky. Generally speaking, the hotel could have beenin line with a 4-star service if not for the housekeeping. It is also located really well, cloae to the beach and only about 20 min walk by the beach to the center part of Salou. We have previously stayed in Eurosalou and H10 is definetely and upgrade.

The hotel overall is great! Very clean, service great. Fantastic location, couldn’t have been better. Our room was on the small side and a bit dated, but did the job. Staff were great!! Special mention to Michael and Pol at the pool bar who looked after us very well. Also Axel who was part of the entertainment team. He did a great job along with his colleagues whose names unfortunately I didn’t get! They kept us entertained throughout the day and night and do a fantastic job! The food I really liked. There was a couple of nights I didn’t enjoy but you can’t please everyone all of the time! Overall very good. Drinks also were great, good range of cocktails, and they were lovely! I would highly recommend the mango daiquiri!! Towards the last few days of our holiday the sunbed situation wasn’t great! The doors open at 9am and there were people starting to queue at 8am! There are loads of loungers stacked everywhere but it was getting to the point there was not a space to put one, it was jam packed!! But give the hotel their due, they were monitoring the situation and towels were being removed after 30 mins which is only fair! I would definitely consider coming back to this hotel if I were to visit Salou again.

The Hotel: Great location for quick beach access, bars & shops, 10/15 mins from Reus airport. Room (501) is clean and cleaned everyday. Bed comfy and shower etc all in good order. It’s by the fire exit and lift shaft so it’s noisy all the time. The balcony is tiny and never sees the sun. Breakfast room is huge and there’s a lot available and all you can eat style . I would recommend NOT paying 6€ top up for breaky as there is a nice coffee/pastry/supermarket next door where you can sit in a much more pleasant atmosphere for less. The pool area is small for the size of hotel and it’s not v relaxing. There is a kids club so there’s music pumping out of portable speakers during the day with sport sessions in and around the pool and bingo etc so it’s not good if you are looking for peace and quiet by the pool. The beach is vast and there’s plenty of places to hire a bed. We went to Tropical/Pepe was the boss. Comfy beds with little safe/lockers, you get a private loo and bar etc. Salou: If you turn left as you are looking at the beach it is neon lights, English bars, lots of touts, touristy, tat shops, Spanish shops cheap, some nice eateries thrown in. However, if you turn right and walk towards the port there are more up market shops and more local/authentic eateries. This was a really good destination for me and my daughter. Still plenty to discover if we come again. We also did a trip to the Central Parc shopping centre in Taragona - it’s definitely teenager shopping heaven. We recommend.

Just back after a weeks stay, good location, close to beach shops and restaurants. Chinese a couple of doors along was lovely. Super market next door with bakery. We found the Hotel was clean, staff were nice. However bed sheet were not changed once, we did get clean towels and room clean daily. Rooms are very dated, pillows are soft poor and quality. The bar had great prices for drinks, pool bar pizza was very nice. The restaurant had plenty choice and food quality was good, breakfast was 10/10. The big let down for this hotel is the paper thin walls and volume of noise from the street and guests in hotel after 1am! If you're looking for a rested nights sleep don't stay here as this was not monitored by security. Banging doors, people shouting and running around corridors at all hours for the full 7 nights (previous hotels I've stayed in abroad have a quiet after midnight rule and was monitored by security). Entertainment is outside until 11pm so pool view rooms hear this. The pool sun bed situation is awful, what a let down for a relaxing holiday, as said in previous reviews people are sitting waiting from 7am!! Then the doors open and it's like the grand national with people jumping over beds and throwing towels to stop you getting the bed. After the first day we had no choice but to join in this crazy behaviour to allow us to get a bed! Location is great but not a hotel for us.

Stayed at better 3 star hotels, this is not a 4 star. Food is very very very poor. The food is absolutely disgusting.Stayed half board 6 nights and could not stand another day of this food. Very limited options, food dry/cold, pizza on the last night was the only edible thing there. Only 6 hot options every night, 3/4 dessert options same fruit and salad bar also everyday. The bread every single day and night was rock hard. Pool area very overcrowded. Very small compared to the photos they show. Pool opens 9am and people queing up to 2 hrs before all through reception and when the doors opened everyone ran to reserve sunbeds.No smoking in pool area yet people did. Dropped this right next to our pushchair. Adult rooftop age 16+ yet children who did not look 16 was on here. A toddler was in the hot tub on 2 occasions. Towels left on beds while at breakfast/ hours without people coming to them. No staff around to check this or the roof terrace. Life guard sits under the waterfall all day on his phone doesn’t walk around ect. Reception staff rude and not friendly. Rooms small but ok as only need for sleeping. Location good in the middle of everything but if you like peace and quiet do not stay here. Entertainment goes on untill 11.30pm and it is very VERY loud for pool view rooms. Walls are NOT soundproof you can hear coughing ect from next doors. Can hear peoples doors shutting/slamming and hear people talking and walking up the corridors. Woken up every night from the noises. Hotel VERY busy and overcrowded.
