From the beginning to the end of our stay we had a great experience in the hotel. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was large with a nice balcony and a sea view overlooking the pool area,it was very modern and clean, with a clean and modern bathroom. An added bonus was a free safe. The hotel was located in rather a hilly area and would not be suitable for anyone with mobility problems but the bars and restaurants were nearby and the bus stop to Salou was only five minutes walk away albeit up rather a steep hill. The buses ran every 15 minutes. Back to the hotel. The pool area was very well stocked with sun beds and a life guard was on duty all day. The kids pool was very close by and easily in sight of the main pool.A gate led down to a sandy beach only 50 metres away and the sea was shallow for a long distance out very much child friendly. In the hotel the food in the restaurant was varied and changed every night and though not Michelin star it was very good.If you wanted water or a drink this had to be paid for and if you could you should avoid the red wine as it was like vinegar. One drawback was that you didn’t have a kettle or any tea making equipment in the room so bring your own. Overall the hotel was excellent the staff were excellent and the cleanliness was first class.

Can't complain about this hotel, been a few times and it never disappoints, check in staff very helpful and friendly, there's a room to leave your suitcases if your room isn't ready on arrival. The hotel staff keep the place very clean. The restaurant is very well run. Very efficient staff. Plenty of choice , can always find something to eat. Cap salou is more down beat than main salou and can be a little hilly, but there's enough going on to keep you occupied. The hotel is practically on the beach . There are a few restaurants/ bars on the door step. Also a very short walk to the main bus routes. The number 4 bus will take you to cambrils in one direction and Tarragona in the other, a couple of euros either way. The reception area and bar area very spacious. It wasn't crazy around the pool but you always get the towel brigade racing for the best spots. But it wasn't over busy. My only complaint would be ignorant arrogant holiday makers speaking to the restaurant staff like they were second class citizens. Also people piling their plates sky high with food they have no intention of eating and leaving their tables looking like a hurricane has just past over. Some people assume because they are on holiday they can behave like animals. But hotel itself, would definitely recommend.

Very clean, modern hotel. The food options are limited but good, fresh salad options, pasta, meat and fish but was more warm then hot. We swaped our half board evening meal for lunch and ate out in the town and la pineda. We had a room without a pool or sea view, just to be aware these rooms overlook the back road area, which we didnt mind, but can be a little noisey so if you dont want this I suggest paying to upgrade. All in all a nice hotel in a quiet area.

First impressions of this hotel are great. The reception area is lovely and clean and welcoming with lots of nice seating, the lobby bar on the level below also has lots of nice seating areas along with some arcade games and pool tables. Most staff are polite and friendly, some know more English than others so sometimes it was a struggle, but we managed. Location of this hotel is ideal albeit a bit hilly. It is right beside a sandy cove which proved popular; however, we never used it as there were no sun beds and I am not a fan of sitting on the sand. At night it is always busy with crowds of youngsters playing sports or swimming and can be quite noisy, but it never bothered us, by 11pm they had all left. There's not much.to do in Cap Salou itself, we ate at the Cap Salou restaurant a few times, Route 66 and The Tropical which were all nice, most of these places do takeaway too. Use the Michelangelo supermarket a few minutes’ walk from the hotel rather than the wee corner shop ones as it is much cheaper. We had a few trips into Salou itself. It is a good 30 minutes’ walk but you can catch the bus a few minutes from the hotel which will cost you between €2.10 and €2.80 each way, buses are very regular but can get busy at peak times. A taxi will cost you between €11 and €13 each way. Pool area is lovely, lots of different areas to sit, lots of sunbeds and some deckchairs overlooking the sea. Kiddies pool is a good size and so cute with the waterfall feature and a wee slide. Lifeguard is on duty from 10am till 5.30pm and whilst he is there are no floaties, balls etc allowed in the pool. We never struggled for a sunbed, even going down later in the day, however the hotel did not seem to be at full capacity (mid-June) so maybe July or August would be different. Food in this hotel really let it down, my teenage son struggled to eat anything, so we ate out quite a lot. Breakfast was ok, my hubby and I always managed something the days we went but dinner just seemed to be a mash up of anything they had, never a proper put together meal and there was never any theme night. Not once in 11 nights did we see chips other than at the pool bar which were nearly €4 for a small portion. Drinks can be expensive depending on what you have, almost €3 euros for tonic made the cheapest gin and tonic €6.80 and a dark rum and coke was almost €7!! Large beer under €3, Fanta (bottle) €2.50 and a litre bottle of water in the restaurant at dinner is €2.50. Be careful at the lobby bar as a few times they gave me change of a 10 instead of a 20! Entertainment in the hotel was a bit of a letdown, DJ most nights which consisted of a large speaker being placed in the bar area and they played some music. Karaoke on a Saturday and a singer on a Wednesday and Friday, usually Spanish. Nothing worth writing home about. We had booked a double room with an extra bed overlooking the pool. Room was lovely and modern but it is quite tight with the third bed and storage s

Second time at Cala Font and 4th time to Cap Salou. The only gripe I have is it seems hit or miss if you get a pool or sea view with lots of people not paying for this but getting it!!! I was hugely disappointed on arrival to be given a room on first floor looking at a wall and a fence, after raising my disappointment with staff we were given a room on 4th floor facing the road which was much better. Staff urged that to have a pool or sea view it will cost approx 15 euros per night which I refused to pay. I cannot fault the hotel in any way, the cleanliness, food choice, location is fantastic and I will definitely return.

Going to give totally honest review.just came back from 2 weeks stay at this hotel.our room was amazing 235,very big and was amazing view.we went half board breakfast was really nice evening meal u could always find something to eat.swimming pool was nice but yr not aloud any floaties in pool and didn't agree with this, they even sell um in hotel shop so don't actually get this.location isn't good as to walk into salou is a good 30 mins walk and small kids aren't up for this.u can get a bus for just over 2 euros each.around the hotel are maybe 6 different restaurants and numerous supermarkets.transfer took about 30 mins so again good..I wouldn't personally return to this area but hotel was clean and beach 1 min walk away it was a little cove but was nice to walk to and have a swim in the sea.

Stayed for 10 days at the Cala Font. It's a beautiful hotel in a beautiful, but hilly, location. The hotel has stunning views. We were lucky enough to have rooms overlooking the pool so had a fantastic sea view. The rooms are lovely and spacious, the only downside being no drawers so all your belongings are on display which makes the room look untidy all the time. The cleaners came in everyday to make the bed and empty the bins and, after a mishap where I broke a glass on the floor, she came and swept it all up (Thanks to Google translate I could let her know my problem). There was always something to eat altho in other hotels I've stayed in, there have been chips available every night for those more fussy than others. My daughter is a little fussy and didn't enjoy the food as much as the rest of us. The entertainment was a little hit and miss and catered quite a lot to Spanish customers (I know, we were in Spain!!). We were lucky enough to be there during a some religious festival so were treated to fireworks during the weekend. The pool was lovely and, apart from the weekend of the festival, there were always plenty of sunbeds available so no rush to reserve one in the morning. There was a sign saying they couldn't be reserved and the towels would be removed but I never witnessed this being put into practice. Depending on which lifeguard was on, depended on if you could have inflatables in the pool, which people really wanted to have. The entertainment team tried really hard to engage people in games around the pool but I just wanted to relax but a lot of people enjoyed the aqua aerobics. The staff at the hotel work incredibly hard to keep it clean, tidy and welcoming at all times. They did need a few more staff on in the restaurant as the tables weren't cleared quickly enough and people sometimes had to wait around. As previously mentioned, the hotel is in a hilly location which was hard work walking anywhere. My dad found it a struggle and didn't feel he could really go anywhere so felt caged in. There's nothing that can be done for that, it's just something to be mindful of if you have someone with mobility issues. There were some lovely bars and restaurants nearby as well as a couple of supermarkets and a chemist. Everything you need really. The beach was so close and you can wade out quite far before the sea starts to get deep. The local youngsters seemed to really like the beach late each night when they gathered there to swim or play. They were a little noisy. Again, there isn't anything the hotel can do about this. Overall, I'd definitely stay at the Cala Font again. I really enjoyed my time here. Oh, additional info. They have the best wifi I've ever experienced in a hotel 😁

spent 10 nights in The Cala Font. Having read some previous reviews we were a bit concerned but all I can say is anyone who picks fault with anything must be over fussy and looking for 5 star for 3/4 star price. Upon arrival around 12.30 lunchtime we were checked in within 5 minutes and our room was ready for us.which we weren't expecting as check in was 2pm ish. We had room 229 with a pool and part sea view, spotless, large bed mini fridge, safe and lovely bathroom with a really good shower with soap & shampoo provided. Cleaners were in every day sweeping, making beds up and changing towels, great job they do. Breakfast has a good selection of Cold meats, breads, fruit, cereal or bacon, fried and scrambled eggs, sausage, beans and various euro sausages too. 3 types of fruit juice, tea of coffee included. Didn't have lunch but evening meal selection was WOW! lots of pork, beef, fish dishes, pizza, Chips, nuggets and different show cooking nightly. Desert selection from cakes to Mousse, yoghurt, rice pudding, Jelly, profiteroles and sauces, all lovely Anyone that can't find something to eat must be from a different planet. Pool and surrounding area was clean and plenty sunbeds all day, nice wee poolside bar that did drinks and snacks. Hotel looks impressive from the minute you step inside, spotlessly clean and all staff were pleasant and friendly even those with minimal English. My 6th time in Salou/Cap Salou and will definetly be back in the future. A lot for your money, ignore the whingers on here, this place rocks. Good base to get to La Pineda or Salou and beyond.we went to the beach on La Pineda 4 times as its so peaceful and the gentle sloping into the sea made it a pleasure to swim in, around 5 mins on the bus from Cap Salou, on that note get a T10 bus Plana card for 10 Euros for 10 journeys and less.than 7 euros thereafter as opposed to 3 euros per journey on the bus

We have been to this hotel 5 times! Absolutely amazing holiday! Impressive hotel which is always clean, friendly reception/bar staff/cleaners. Great selection of food at breakfast, pool bar and evening meals. Local amenities very convenient: the beach is directly in front of the hotel, shops very close, buses very close, entertainment was excellent, animation team were friendly and fun. We have struck up good relationships with the staff who have worked there since our first trip and who make our holidays extra special. We have always had brilliant rooms with either a pool view or a sea view and will be returning again next year - looking forward to it already!! Thank you so much to all the amazing staff at the Cala Font Hotel. A big shout out to Roberto and Paco - see you next time!!!
