Golden Port Salou & Spa

Amazing stay at this hotel, the rooms seemed to be brand new, although my room was small as it was on the end, it suited me, nice little balcony, big bathroom with amazing shower. All the staff were lovely, cleaners do an amazing job at this hotel, the place was spotless. Also the girls in the spa, I had a massage and an incredible facial, use of the spa afterwards was lovely. Breakfast is good, huge selection, omelettes made to order, lots of variety. All inclusive didn’t look v exciting though! Loads of loungers outside, was never an issue though some areas get shady by midday. Evening entertainment is really good, good variety of shows each night, I can’t wait to return!

Room 5010 is directly across from a bar on the opposite side of the street. Currently, it's 3:59 AM, and my children have been woken up by loud music and some drunk guys yelling outside. When I approached the reception desk with this complaint at night, I was greeted with a smile, "Welcome to Spain." However, my request to change rooms was denied. They told that they were fully booked. While the hotel itself is very cool, this experience has ruined everything.

A gorgeous hotel, very clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There’s plenty of sun lounges, but found that you need to be early to get a good sun trap because some people are out first thing putting towels on to save them. The entertainment is also very good on an evening. No music played throughout the day outside, but you can play your own at a reasonable volume. Location is good too, short cut through the cafe at back of hotel to get to beach, 10/15 minutes away. The restaurant is very nice and well organised. There’s a good selection of food to choose from, the only problem I have with the food is that unfortunately it’s not very hot, even though the food is kept under food lamps, it was just warm. I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends. Weather was great, got a nice tan.

My first holiday in Salou. Nice hotel central easy to walk to the beach and shops within 15 mins walk. Public transport nearby and very good. Modern clean room. Good housekeeping. Food good choice and plentiful. But was lukewarm. The soup was hot and very tasty. Long queues in the evening. So preferred to eat at lunch time. The entertainment seemed very children orientated. Adult entertainment was from 10pm until around 11pm so not very long. The entertainment was quite good. The bar and dining room staff were very good. I didn't have much to fo with reception staff but check in was easy. The main improvement should be hotter food. Otherwise I enjoyed my stay.

Super hotel from check in to check out, cleanliness super , selection of food in the restaurant amazing caterers for all tastes , will return again , staff so friendly, rooms spotless serviced everyday, fresh towels everyday , quiet time between 11pm & 8 am , entertainment all day long

Just back from this lovely hotel, booked half board with TUI, great service Spoke with Isabel before travelling as was anxious as last holiday was nightmare, This hotel caters for everyone, wheelchair access, mobility scooters etc Good delicious, you can also go all inclusive Wonderful gym, though few were using it Lovely walk along promenade too They have a clothes airer, which is really good, just bring few clothes pegs We had room 632,which had sun until about half two each day. Hope to return next year Thanks to restaurant staff most helpful as needed to bring food to room as wasn't feeling great second week, appreciate it, Really lovely staff in all areas, Thanks everyone

Very clean hotel throughout. Staff are very helpful and friendly, had a few different issues and they were sorted almost immediately. The food is delicious, so much to choose from. The restaurant staff are very welcoming, quick to get you drinks and find you a seat. They are also very efficient in collecting plates when finished. Had no issues with the food, all cooked well and tasted delicious, cakes and deserts were amazing also. All inclusive is well worth it, when the dining room is not serving food, you can order food and snacks from the bar also. The bar staff are polite, helpful, you are never hanging around. Stayed in a room for one person, although it was smaller than I expected, it is designed to have everything you need and actually preferred this by the end of my stay. The room is very modern and has all the mod cons also. Room was very clean, so felt very comfy in staying in it. Be careful with cleaning staff though, as they ignore your request to not have your room cleaned, they will go in after a day or two regardless, let reception know if this is the case and you either don't want your room cleaned at all, or just on a few days, they will then log it into their cleaner rota and staff will be made aware. Try and get a room overlooking the pool, as the other side is on a road and is quite noisy during the day, also overlooks all the electrical wiring, so not the best view, would also suggest you stay on 2nd floor and above, 1st floor if you do have pool view, you literally have people sitting right outside your balcony by the pool, is a little off putting when you are sitting outside and there's someone snoring right outside of your room. Be quick to get your pool setup within the day, as people get the best areas first thing. The pools are all good, not the biggest of pools but are ok. There's not that much in entertainment, yes they do have entertainment theme nights but the main function and entertainment room is on a smaller scale, it's all fun but have stayed at hotels with better entertainment. The second pub is a more modern design, with inside and outside seating, has a more cooler vibe to it, with big tv's to watch the football on. The hotel is not too far from the centre, with all the shops, restaurants and bars, if you go to the back of the hotel exit, it is only a five minute walk to Burger King, which is then on route to the shops and beach front. To sum up the hotel, it is a smaller hotel, but has lovely modern designed rooms for you to stay in, the beds are very comfy to sleep on, with all the mod cons, nice cool air con, an easy to operate safe (don't use the app, it doesn't work, just type in your chosen number code right away and ignore the part to download the app on your phone), small fridge for you to keep drinks in etc, spacious wardrobe with lots of room, nice wall mounted television, enough electrical sockets next to bed and near television, decent size bathroom, with easy to use shower, toilet, sink

On arrival found the interior of the lobby at the hotel very nice, the check in staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room was a great size with a double and a single bed and overlooked the pool area, added extras like the fridge and free room safe was good, not much choice with the TV though.The maids done a great job and kept the room spotless and topped up with amenities every day. There are a lot of sunbed areas around the hotel and different pools. There is a nice lounge area to chill or get a snack or a drink and play cards etc. you can also get out the back door from here which makes the walk to town only a couple of hundred yards. Did not take part in the activities during the day but they always had something going on. Toni & Javier in the restaurant always greeted us with a smile at meal times, the waitresses were also very friendly, we were all inclusive and the food was great, plenty of choices. The Evening entertainment was quite good with different acts each night which started at 10 pm after the kids disco. A big thumbs up to the entertainment crew who never stopped. The main room was ok but being a bit out season I can imagine it to be quite busy later on in the season. All the waiters very friendly but a bit run of there feet at times. Overall we would come back to this hotel,could not fault it. Only thing I was a bit disappointed with was we went to La pinada for the day and found another Golden hotel,with the same all inclusive armbands (Golden Donaire),we asked if we could use the bar and restaurant as it was part of the same group and we were told sorry No.I think it would be a good idea to use other hotels in the group.
