Ona Jardines Paraisol

Booked with RCI, as an exchange with our timeshare. Absolutely the worst experience. I knew when I booked that it wasn’t going to be great…..but couldn’t imagine how bad it would be. Thankfully we only stayed 3 of the 7 nights we reserved. We went on a side trip a few hours away. The building is very old, walls are thin. You can hear everything. The bed was terrible. Thin, lumpy and squeaky. There was construction in one of the neighboring apartments going on from 8am until 5 pm one day. Sounded like someone was directly hammering on our wall. All around one of the worst places we’ve stayed with RCI.

We stayed a week in a 4th floor two bed apartment which was very clean, well equipped , with pool view large balcony and had its own boiler supplied hot water . The apartments are a bit dated inside and out and the exterior could do with smartening up but the pool and sunbathing area are very well kept and clean . When we stayed there were plenty of available sunbeds . We did see the pool attendant reluctantly removing towels from reserved sunbeds first thing in the morning after waiting for a while . This seems reasonable .. he is only doing what he’s been asked to do by owners . One slightly inconvenient thing is that there are no toilets around the pool area , so you have to go back to the apartment . The apartments are in the “town” area rather than the busy “tourist area” at the other end of the beach . Although there are plenty of local cafes , supermarkets and bars in the area . The apartments are about a fifteen min walk from the beach . Be aware that two sunbeds and a parasol is €25 a day . I had read negative comments about staff in reception , but I found them helpful and friendly . Just because someone doesn’t have a great command of English doesn’t make them “rude and unfriendly “. The staff were helpful in getting a parasol for the hot balcony and were accommodating when we wanted a late check out on our apartment ( albeit with a small charge )

The pool area is the star of this complex. The rooms although a little tired are comfortable, our bed was so creaky it disrupted our sleep at times.the mattress topper was good though. Better to have a balcony overlooking the pool area. The staff are helpful and accommodating, good place for a relaxing stay, could be improved with a bar/ice cream area.

Go to Salou, stay in ONA appartments and you shall have the perfect vacations. The teritory around resort was ideal.
