Salisbury North Bishopdown

Upon arrival I was carrying my 8 month old baby in one arm, and was pushing the buggy loaded up with our belongings with the other arm. The young female receptionist proceeded to tell me we were on the first floor and there’s no lifts in the hotel. I explained that was clearly not going to be possible given I was loaded like a donkey and already struggling to get around. She took issue with this and was very abrupt and curt here on out. She gave me a new room on the ground floor and then watched me struggle to get through the door without offering any assistance. When I got to the room there was no travel cot in there so went back to ask about this. She rudely told me “as you have chosen to change rooms, you will have to wait”. I then went to get some dinner from the in-house restaurant. The rude receptionist then started serving us and upon delivering the food asked if everything was ok. I told her “not really as it’s all microwaved”. She laughed and walked off. The manager tried to justify this girls rudeness due to her ‘being young and inexperienced’ and accepted that ALL of the food is microwaved but it’s “of good quality”. £12 for a macaroni cheese that hasn’t even seen a grill. Absolutely disgusting. FYI - The breakfast was no better. For the hot food there was only beans, sausages, bacon and fried eggs. The fried eggs you could have killed someone with, they were as hard as bullets. We’ve stayed at some really good Premier Inns but this was by far the worst.

Pleasantly surprised by this hotel. I was top floor which made all the difference to how settled I felt (it’s my preference). Room was quiet, comfy, and had plenty of space just for me. Would stay again. Only niggle is I wished breakfast started an hour earlier ok the weekend… 7am would’ve been ideal.

We booked for a long weekend and certainly chose the right hotel. The staff were friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough for us, the food was lovely, we had breakfast every day and it was spot on, we eat two evening meals including a Sunday lunch and again we could not fault the staff or the food. I have already been recommending this hotel to friends and family, rooms lovely and clean and full of character. The only very slight issue was our room was facing the road and over the bar, so it was a little noisy at times, but this didn't spoil what was a lovely stay.

Stayed for one night, rented out four rooms for a reasonable price considering the location and quality. Staff was extremely kind, food was amazing, rooms were very cute and maintained the original vibe of the older building while having very modern bathrooms. Everything was in working order and it seemed like every small detail was thought of. Our rooms had working tvs, fans, and comfortable bedding and the bathrooms had heated towel racks and shower toiletries. The stay was overall very enjoyable and I would definitely come again. :)

Friendly welcome by owners to this wonderful little B&B and we can highly recommend it. We stayed in one of the three self contained rooms, it was compact but very comfortable. Ideal for 1, 2, or 3 nights. The beds were very comfortable and for the first time in years we slept until after 8am . The 'light' breakfast was enough to last you until your evening meal - just about anything you may want was there. Enjoyed sitting out in the peaceful garden where you could just have a coffee or even take your breakfast out to eat at one of the tables. If you don't want to cook then the Yew Tree pub (less than a minutes walk away) serves deliciuous meals. Just mind your head on the low beams!

Arrived early Sunday 27th October fully expecting to be told that my room was not ready yet. Lady behind the bar soon had everything sorted out for me and I found I was in a Shepherds hut behind the pub. Never stayed in a Shepherds hut before so this was a new experience for me. Everything I needed in a room for the two nights I was staying was in the hut . The bed was warm and comfortable. The food I ordered on both nights was nice, well cooked and hot. The breakfast was buffet style and unlimited. Would I stay again? Yes I would. I have to come back again later in the year so will be booking here again
