Arrived in a rain storm, and after a short wait at reception, were checked in. The Receptionist was helpful and informative. For some reason we were given the disabled room, which was large and comfortable, although my wife found her side of the bed to be softer than she expected. We also noted that the room lacked dusting particularly on the bedside cabinets and the base of the wardrobe. The bathroom was a wet room, which seemed to have difficulty completely draining, and had wet patches on the floor most of the time. The shower was powerful and the water very warm. The room was also very quiet, which was brilliant as it was alongside a busy road. Due to the wet weather we booked a table at the in house restaurant, for 7.30pm. We were shown to our table at the appropriate time, but it was some 20 minutes before our drinks order, and food order were taken. We were also told of certain items which were no longer on the table, as they had run out. Very disappointing! Also, around 30 minutes later, I was told that I could not have the mixed grill, as they no longer had any chicken left. (However, I was able to negotiate the addition of some chicken goujons from the starter menu, which I was not charged for, so that I could keep the rest of my mixed grill). We then waited, and waited, and ordered another round of drinks, and waited and waited, another table cancelled their order and left, and they came in after us!. Eventually our order arrived, some two hours after we sat down! I am pleased to say, that the food was really good, and we both enjoyed our meals. But for a restaurant with 26 covers, and only 16 eating, the time taken in the kitchen was very poor. Needless to say, we ate elsewhere the next day.

This is a great location for visiting Salisbury with free parking and a park and ride into Town just a short walk away. The staff were friendly and efficient and the room was as expected from a Premier Inn. The huge issue we encountered on check in and all through our stay was the very powerful solvent smell which became evident when we entered the lift and stairwells, also present in our room on the second floor. It was concerning enough for us and several other guests on different floor levels to ask that these fumes weren’t actually dangerous as the windows can’t be opened to ventilate the rooms and corridors. We were advised to run the air con which would help to dissipate the fumes and staff on reception were also able to ensure that it remained on whilst we were out in the evening. Thankfully our stay was very short as i definitely couldn’t have tolerated the smell for any longer and it was still very evident on check out.

The hotel ticked all our boxes and was better than we expected.. Road access, the Park & Ride and cycle paths to the hotel easy and safe. The hotel was very quiet even though our room overlooked thw A46.

The location was great, parking is very limited as they share the car park with McDonalds but we didn’t have an issue ourselves. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was lovely. The bed linen was clean and the bed was comfortable. Some areas of the room were not as clean as they should be, splashed drink on the wall, a previous guests make up brush left in the room, toilet bowl was very stained (would of been easy to clean off), damp spores on the tile grouting. Nothing massively bad but attention to detail makes a difference.

Clean, lovely staff. Young lady on reception with glasses was very helpful with local recommendations. We ate in the restaurant and it was clear that they are running on limited staff but they did amazingly. Hardly any time to wait for food and it was delicious. Thank you

Our experience at this hotel is on a par or better than that at Guildford last august - and that was superb! The front of house Kitty and her colleague Max helping in the restaurant, and the chef Mike have all contributed massively to our lovely stay. Absolutely nothing has been too much trouble. At check in I was asked if we would need extra special help if there was a forced evacuation of the hotel - my husband is disabled and uses a wheelchair. Never ever had that asked of me in all the years we have travelled together. There was a slight problem with the key card on one of my several trips from car to room - Kitty reprogrammed it and came with me to make sure it was working. Then dinner. I can be difficult to feed but asking if I could have the salmon without garlic the response was ‘of course’. Could we have some lemon for the fish - of course. Could my husband have a spoon - of course! All with a lovely smile and wonderful sense of humour. And so it went on. We are here another night and looking forward to it. There are many far more expensive smarter hotels where the service wouldn’t be so good - or the food for that matter. The salmon was cooked to perfection, moist but cooked through. The chips were real potato! A good size without being gross. And not too many - perfect. Broccoli and peas and salad all excellent. Thank you Premier Inn for excelling yourselves and for your selection of staff who enjoy providing service to their customers.
