Redhill Reigate

We booked a twin room. On arrival were told it was a King plus single not a twin. The hotel was full so the only option. The single bed was a child’s bed and unfit for purpose, leading to a very poor night’s sleep. The King was fine. The room felt cold and damp, the windows drafty. Bedside light didn’t work, and poor placement of plug sockets. Could hear every sound from room upstairs. We’ve stayed in many Premier Inns and this felt nothing like one. Had a much better night in the Travelodge Redhill a few weeks before, thought we were upgrading but were mistaken. Wouldn’t return.

We chose this hotel as it was near Gatwick Airport and we’ve stayed in Premier Inns for many years without issue, however I wish we had read the reviews of this hotel and chose elsewhere to stay. In a nutshell, it’s dirty and neglected and if it had been earlier in the day and we weren’t so tired from travelling we would have found another hotel to stay in. The walls are dirty and damaged with peeling/chipped paint and mould. The curtains are stained. The material on the sofa had a hole in it. There were various blood stains on the mattress cover. The soap dispenser was rusty and a health hazard. The roll out under bed was split and its inners were bulging out (luckily we did not need to use this). The towels had long seen white. The bathroom mirror was in need of replacement. On the plus side the staff were nice and pleasant. The cleanliness issues continued in the Beefeater next door around the breakfast area and yoghurts were out of date. Cooked breakfast was good and staff were pleasant.

Clean and tidy rooms and comfortable beds and pillows for a good night's sleep 🙂 would stay here again but wouldn't eat in the restaurant again, as felt we got ripped off with the price of the salad. As there wasn't enough to feed a rabbit . When I explained this to the woman who served my friend her answer was that's all you get. Very poor customer service and think she needs retraining on her customer service skills.

We have stayed at the Premier Inn Redill before when visiting family in a nearby village, and are not disappointed. lt is great value for a budget hotel and the Beefeeter Pub/Restaurant next door is great and always very busy. The food too is excellent value for money particularly on the meal deal.

This hotel is excellent, especially with a pub/restaurant, The Mill House just across the drivers. There is ample free parking & the staff are especially helpful & friendly & the manager Roger can't do enough for guests. Highly recommended.
