Pillo Rooms Serviced Apartments - Salford

So this is a pretty mixed review and I’m going to be completely honest and upfront. So good points as follows - Apartment was clean and fresh and both bedrooms spacious. Clean linens and fairly comfortable beds. Good facilities in kitchen with plenty cups, plates, cooking utensils etc. great pizza place below apartment and well stocked newsagents for essentials. Free on street parking to the side of the building. Handy location for the convention we were visiting at BEC. Bad points - Now there is really only one but it was almost a deal breaker. On the first morning, I decided to pop out at around 9am and I opened the apartment door (no.9 at the very top of the building) and a very drunk, sleepy man spilled into the hallway after having clearly slept in the doorway. He seemed harmless and gathered his things and left quickly however he had clearly had an accident as the hallway smelled very strongly of urine. I followed him out to make sure he left the building and by the front door of the building was a half empty bottle of cider and wet socks which I’m sure belonged to the drunk man. My sister who booked the apartment contacted Pillo and they said there must have been a problem with the keypad at the front of the building (which in hindsight wasn’t working when we arrived) and they would have it fixed. By the time we left the following day the front door remained open and the cider and socks stayed right where they were so it looks unlikely that anyone came out to look at the issue. The situation didn’t fill us with a lot of confidence and it was a little intimidating having a drunk man roll into an apartment with 3 women inside. When staying in a new place you should feel safe and secure and sadly we didn’t. Sad because other than that it was a decent place to stay.

Very clean. Spacious and close to transport links ect. However, there are no black out blinds and the 'blinds' here are all twisted and broken. Which has resulted on a very poor sleep for 5 days. Street light filled bedrooms at night and sun filled rooms at the crack of dawn. Also the bedroom lamps come on randomly at night so had to unplug them. I wouldn't return for these reasons, unless black out blinds were installed. I can't wait to go to have a good night's sleep.

Do not stay here if female, it is in middle of industrial estate n feels very unsafe, I got to tge venue early as I usually do being a female traveller alone, I immediately felt unsafe, very limited parking, I contacted the team after 5 calls and explained my feelings, I asked if tge property was ready could I go in and see it? I was told they would check and email me, they did this and said it would be ready in 15 minutes at which point I would receive checking codes for the main door and key safe for apartment key, I thought fab this was around 1.30.... I received no info even after 45 minutes of requesting it, I was ignored until 2.55, 5 minutes before the normal check in time and told to follow the checking details in original booking! I got in the apartment, it smells of bleach, the space was very open and clinical but OK, I turned on tv NO signal all distorted no matter the chanel no signal unless I paid for netflix... I called 3 times and was told someone will get back to you, I said when, within the hour an engineer will call to come and see, I am a female travelling alone I am not letting a stranger in the apartment.... tired frustrated I got back in my car and drive the 2 hours home, I now have to drive the 2 hours back tomorrow at 05.30 to fulfil my commitments for work.... it is not fit for purpose if female and it does not give adequate details to females travelling alone. I am expecting a refund as I was in this apartment for 15 minutes tops .... I wonder if I will get one? An email has been sent to this effect

I really enjoyed my stay with Pillo Rooms! Amazing service, the staff were graceful when I accidentally left my keys inside the property and helped me get back inside. The appliances were clean and property was clean too and well maintained. Would stay again and recommend to others.

The residents who stay here are constantly dumping rubbish outside onto the street without a care for the other local residents or volunteers who work hard to try and keep this area clean. FILTHY ANIMALS
