The location is very good, the hotel is obviously old but they should preserve it better.
The breakfast was a terrible buffet and thank goodness it included it in the price because paying €12 is not worth it.

The hotel is in a very good location, with the ancient city of Salamanca just outside the door. I stayed in room 204, and the window of the room faced the roof of the Salamanca Cathedral. It was very beautiful, especially at night. The facilities in the room were good; you need to find a blue line on the roadside to park by yourself; the only drawback of the hotel is that there is no quilt, but a blanket. The blanket in the cupboard was also taken out to cover it together. It may feel a little cold without turning on the air conditioner. The sanitary conditions are good.

The location is unbeatable. It takes 5 minutes to walk to the entire historical center. The disadvantage is that it has no parking space, you have to find a place in the blue area. The rooms are a bit inadequate in terms of sound insulation and maintenance

Since we arrived at the hotel, we have received very good attention and kindness.
The location is perfect, the facilities are clean and well kept.
The negative point is that you can hear everything. From 8:30 in the morning, you can hear the sounds of hotel staff cleaning and moving furniture.
At breakfast, we received good attention, but the quality of the products was a bit unsatisfactory.

Location is great, on the site of one of the old city gates so it is close to the sights. On the other hand, there is a busy junction outside so you need to keep the window closed. Some rooms have a nice view of the cathedral. I found the younger members of staff could be coaxed to smile, but the older man and woman who were usually on reception would barely acknowledge your entry or exit from the hotel. The brekfast buffet was fine for us, and the young woman running it on her own worked hard. Nice courtyard to sit in with a glass of wine or beer.

Great location. Very good rate. Had to return to reception to ask for the safe key (since I couldn't work out how to use it) and get a map of the city. Would have been nice to have been given both at check in. Room extremely hot, and air con wasn't available, and again I was not told at check in. To cool the room, had to leave a window open. Frig not working. It was probably operator trouble, but they knew it was coming so why wasn't it checked and running on my arrival. These are all minor complaints, but they prevent me from giving the hotel a higher rating and made my stay less enjoyable. It would have cost them nothing to provide a better service.

Unique location as built over ancient ruins which are now part of the hotel. Rooms spacious with slightly dated bathroom. Breakfast was below average. Cooked items not particularly tasty. Scrambled eggs to salty & only warm. Only fresh fruit were melons. No cold milk for cereals.

We had a great one-night stay at Hotel San Polo in Salamanca. The price-quality ratio was excellent, offering good value for money. Although the rooms were a bit outdated, they were still acceptable considering the price. The hotel's central location was a major plus, and it was easily from the nearby parking areas across the river. The convenience of being in the heart of the city made it easy to explore all that Salamanca has to offer. We would recommend it for its affordability and convenient location.
