Le Monal is a beautifully decorated hotel located in a charming village near the Sainte-Foy resort. I was very pleased with my cosy single room and a private bathroom. Even though my room was based at the back of the hotel, I had a beautiful view from my window. I really enjoyed the stylish alpine decor as well as the lovely atmosphere created by the helpful and friendly staff, lively locals, the fireplace, food and drinks on the terrace complemented with a good choice of music. Thank you for making my stay so comfortable and my first ever solo skiing holiday so memorable! I truly appreciate it!

I can recommend the hotel restaurant. It is cosy and innovates on some classic French dishes. Has a good wine card, too. My room, however, was rather forgettable. Surrounded by chalet-style wooden walls it must have measured barely 12 sq.m. A double bed and not much else could fit. The bathroom, on the other side, was new and of a decent size. All-in-all an OK experience.

Very nicely decorated hotel and comfortable room with no ski kitsch! Friendly and helpful staff. The food was also good (we shared the cote de boeuf which was plenty for 3) but there were few small/lighter options just heavy main dishes in the evening. Our room was lovely with a kettle and a balcony and a view over the mountains, but it could be very noisy here as it’s on bend on a hill in the main road - although it quietened down in the evenings we were woken up by a delivery vehicle at 5am. Oddly no shutters on our windows so had to close the curtains carefully to keep out the hotel lights and the morning light. There is also an outside dining terrace and a pizza take away and we found the noise of people chatting outside was intrusive until 11.30- ish. Probably perfect in the winter but in the summer when you want the windows open it was less than ideal.

One of our favourite places to eat and enjoy a few drinks whilst in Sainte-foy. The staff are lovely and the barman makes great cocktails. The Entrecôte is one of the best around and at great value also.

Fantastic family friendly hotel, lovely bar and restaurant with delicious food. Lovely helpful staff that really made us feel welcome. Perfect location too as the Ski Bus stops right outside. Highly recommend and will definitely return.

J’arrive fin juin en moto à Val d’Isère, tous les hôtels sont fermés, petite pluie fine, atmosphère lugubre, la personne de l’office du tourisme désolée me dit d’essayer le Monal à 10 km. La pluie s’arrête quand j’arrive, c’est la soirée des Anglais. Ambiance formidable sur le rooftop avec tous les cocktails possibles et imaginables, traders en provenance de Londres en bermudas fluo venus rejoindre leur femme pour faire la fête, chambres à prix raisonnable, carte du restaurant riche et plats très convenables. En fait, j’y retourne dès que je fais un tour par là, en choisissant si possible le soir de la fête sur le rooftop. Je comprends que ça ne plaise pas à tous, je ne suis pas un fêtard avide d’afters mais c’est vraiment un bel endroit, avec magnifique vue sur la montagne.
