Villa Alecya

Great villa, with a unique experience - very well decorated with a lot of charm and great surrounding even during winter season. The room pictures are very accurate and the location is ideal - close to a lot of chateaux and attractions in the area. Christophe was very welcoming and helpful, giving us a tour of the villa and great tips for activities in the area. The breakfast was excellent as well.

Highly recommend a stay here Excellent place to stay. Owner gave us a tour of the house and the history of the property. Breakfast was amazing all fresh local produce including jams made with fruit from the garden. Rooms have a theme all tastefully done would highly recommend a stay here

We caught the ferry to Cherbourg and faced a gruelling 8 hour drive to our final destination, so I decided to find us a hotel to break up the journey. I stumbled across Villa Alecya by chance by searching for hotels on Google maps just south of Tours. We booked a room, crossed our fingers and hoped for the best. After a 4 hour drive from Cherbourg, we finally pulled up to the magnificent green gates of the Chateau and received a very warm welcome from Christophe. We drove up the driveway and we were left open mouthed at just how stunningly beautiful the grounds and Chateau are! Christophe gave us a tour of the downstairs, before taking us up to our room. He explained that it is a Belle Epoque Chateau which was very run down with overgrown gardens when they bought back in 2017, and they spent 2 years lovingly restoring it. There’s a picture book in one of the salons with before and after pics. Each room we saw was beautifully and tastefully decorated, with the original features brought back to life. The gardens are also just gorgeous. We stayed in the beautiful Madam Butterfly room, which had its own private terrace overlooking the driveway (we enjoyed a bottle of wine out there that night). This was one of those moments where you are delighted to discover you have found a real gem!! The Chateau is located in a very pretty, traditional old village called St Catherine de Fois Bois. There is a three minute walk to an Auberge (restaurant) in the centre of the village, serving excellent food with great service. We had breakfast the next day on the terrace with delicious food. We absolutely loved our stay here and didn’t want to leave! We will definitely return! Many thanks to Christophe and Anna for a wonderful stay!

An amazing building superbly maintained. Belle Epoque architecture on a scale I have never before witness. All sorts of curious nooks and crannies inside and out. Seventeen of us spent a long weekend here and there was more than enough room for us to spread out and enjoy the amenities. Would recommend Villa Alecya to anybody.

From the moment you arrive Anna unlocks the magical beauty of this magnificent Villa - there is no where quite like it. Every aspect of this building is a work of art and the experience of staying here is transformative. We stayed in 'Madam Butterfly' which was beautiful having a small balcony leading from an elegant and modern shower room which overlooked the tree canopy - a lovely place to watch the sun go down with a glass of wine. Anna showed us all of the rooms and every one was utterly magnificent down to the last detail having items in each to delight and entertain. Each room was quite literally enchanting and on our return (because we simply fell in love with it) we will choose 'Ernest but Wilde', because of its sophisticated splendour. If you want to push the boat out go for the top floor with a sauna and whirlpool bath that will blow your mind. I could have spent hours just sitting and taking the whole place in, wanting to see all of its secret beauty. This is a place that warrants many visits, for the building, but also for it's hosts too who were considerate and charming and as wonderful as the house. There is a small and pleasant restaurant only a few minutes walk up the road in the village should you arrive on an evening when dinner is not being prepared at the Villa, modestly priced and good. Breakfast was a delight of home grown fruit and home made produce. An excellent place to stay if viewing the Chateaus along the Loire, Chinon being only a few minutes drive away. Visit - you will not be disappointed.
