Hotel du Casino

Had a great time here stayed on the second floor. Dined in the restaurant which was fabulous three courses. We will be coming again in the future. We parked at the front and the rooms were bright and roomy. There are other restaurants close by and within walking distance

We originally booked 2 rooms for 2 nights and asked for the rooms to be close together as one was for our 15 year old grandson who is a bit anxious about being too far away from us when staying in hotels. We arrived to find that the rooms were a long way away. Ours was in one wing while his was right at the other end of the other wing and the only lighting in the dark corridor was on sensors. When we asked the receptionist if we could have rooms closer together she said the hotel was full. She had nothing else in that type of room. I said I would pay to upgrade the rooms but she was adamant there was nothing. The beds in both rooms were double so no way for my husband and grandson to share. I said I had asked for the rooms to be close when I had booked. She got out our booking form and said we were on the same floor. When you opened the door to our room it was straight into the room, no corridor, so if anyone was passing when the door was opened they would have been able to see anyone in bed. I know a lot of hotels don’t do tea/coffee and this one did but there were only 2 sachets of coffee and one non-herbal tea bag. There was no milk. When I went to the desk to ask for some the receptionist’s face visibly dropped as if to say ‘ not you again’. Everything seemed to be an effort for her. In the end, we decided to spend the one night instead of two as our grandson was uncomfortable being so far from us in a strange place. When I went down to tell the receptionist she made no show of disappointment. The big plus with this hotel is the restaurant. The chef is excellent and even our picky teenage grandson ate everything put down to him. However, we were again let down, this time by the fact that we could not get a drink or cup of coffee in the bar as there was no one around to serve us. Apart from the receptionist when we arrived all the other staff were very cheery and helpful. We booked this hotel as we had stayed there on our own last year. That room was much better and the only issue we had then was the bar was closed so we thought we would book there again. But our experience this time has put us off returning.

Great place for an overnight stay before the mid-morning ferry from Dieppe (40 mins drive), with easy free parking. We appreciated the fascinating view of the fishing port (photo from room as dawn breaks), and enjoyed the 10 minute stroll along the harbour to the beach: a delightful little Normandy town. What really stood out was the friendly and helpful service from reception on arrival and departure. We strongly recommend dinner at the Auberge Val-Riquaise, 5 mins by foot.

Four night stay in this hotel. Room overlooking marina was very clean and comfortable with a huge window which could be opened. Two small chairs in the room, but a second with arms would have been good, as would a small table for tea/coffee cups and wine glasses. Bathroom a bit tired , lots of cracks on wall behind towel rail, which was a tad dusty , one bulb out over the sink...stayed that way. Room was clean though and apart from the bulb, everything worked. Issue with BBC channels on TV..none available. Ate in restaurant only once as there were lots of other places to try. Breakfast was very basic and staff did not seem to be in a rush to replenish anything, no bacon on last morning, none available, cooked food almost finished by 9am and we were not the last people down. Staff were friendly . We enjoyed our stay, especially the marine view but beware the family of very noisy ducks. Bar never seemed to full, and was a bit dark and staffless.
