La Bastide des Salins

Serenity in Saint Tropez! Just down the street from the town but feels like many miles away in a quiet area! The staff,, the property, the pool... everything is wonderful and pristine. It is definitely a small boutique hotel, you feel like you have the place to yourself! The La Bastide Beach tote to use while at the property is a cute touch:) The pool was sexy and at most there were 2 other couples at it with us. We spent 3 nights and sure wish we had longer! They gave us a room upgrade- the room was gorgeous! Large clean and even had an upstairs extra bathroom with soaking tub! The bed is giant and so comfy! AC worked great. Bathroom was spacious and modern with nice toiletries. The parking is secure and free. The shuttle service is so convenient and prompt! The breakfast isn't giant but enough. They don't have a restaurant (we knew that) but that was fine for us as we wanted to go into town for dinner and nightlife anyways and the shuttle makes that sooo easy to do! They did have a light lunch menu served by the pool and that was a nice surprise and it was tasty! They opened and kept chilled a bottle of wine that we got from a local winery which was nice as we didn't have to buy wine we could drink our own while lounging by the pool! The staff helped us make reservations for dinners and were so receptive to any questions or requests. The gardens were expansive and they had bicycles to take out which we did one afternoon. We biked to Salins Beach just down the quiet street (also walking distance). Be sure to walk around the corner to get to the larger beach! Our stay was exactly what I was hoping for for our last leg in the French Riviera. I wanted to feel like I was in luxurious Saint Tropez and La Bastide delivered! We would love to return!

The hotel is in a lovely setting and provides a free shuttle into the port main area. Free parking is also a good bonus. However there are a few issues. Although the pool area is very nice there aren’t any soft covering for the sun loungers , for the price of this establishment they should be provided. Also there is a bar at the small pool area - for service you have to go up to the bar - again for the price of the drinks ( a bottle of water is €11 ) I feel that you should be served. The bar staff did seem underworked and spent a lot of their time on their phones or chatting. Also on departure we asked for our cases to be collected and taken to our car in the car park. Instead they were moved a few meters away from our room and left. We also asked the lady at the reception for some recommendations for an evening meal and none were forthcoming which was a little odd as by email the communication was very good. Our room was large and clean but there was an issue with the shower leaking which made its way into the toilet. There were also some areas of mould in the shower. This was not rectified even when advised. Overall we wouldn’t return.

This hotel is truly a hidden gem in St Tropez. From the property , to the grounds , to the staff and rooms , everything exceeded expectations. The hotel is only around 8 minutes taxi / shuttle drive to hustle and bustle of St Tropez so affords a sanctuary so you can dip in and dip out. The shuttle service is a real plus and a game changer - the driver was such a nice man and his service was impeccable . I would definitely stay here again and encourage you to do so too.

Great hotel with beautiful rooms! You will love the gardens and pool area! They serve the breakfast at the pool area and is a very small buffet. The choices are limited but you can manage to have a good breakfast. I recommend this place! You will love it
