The hotel is located right next to the Angers Gare, and while it may be convenient for those travelling to the Novotel Angers Centre Gare Hotel by train, the hotel does offer car parking at the Angers Gare car park, which is operated by an independent operator, and the hotel does offer a discounted rate for the car park. The Novotel is within a 10-15 minute walk to the centre of Angers and about a 10 minute walk to Angers Castle, both of which are in two different directions of the hotel. The room we had was spacious, with a double bed, in-room safe, room-control air conditioning, very small wardrobe, fridge and kettle with basic tea and coffee. Sparkling water was the only beverage provided in the room and not plain water for the kettle, nor milk and only paper cups!! The block-out curtains worked well at night, although you could hear the train, however our room overlooked the train station. The bathroom had a bath step-in-shower and the shower pressure for the hot water was poor, and there was limited space on the bathroom vanity to spread out hair appliances etc. The in-room phone didn’t work, so we had to make our way down to reception to ask for an ironing board and iron. Bath robes and slippers weren’t supplied. The buffet breakfast was an additional cost, although it did offer a good selection of hot and cold, savoury and sweet menu, which was nice. If you're looking for a basic, clean and convenient no-frills hotel, then the Novotel Angers Centre Gare Hotel, could be for you!
