Village Pierre & Vacances Cap Esterel

I would not recommend here at all. We have stayed at many Pierre et Vacances over the years and this is incomparable. The apartments and resort are not as seen online and the entire resort is in need of a complete overhaul. Aircon not working in 30degree heat, lack of storage in apartments, mould in bathrooms, kitchen sink not draining, beds unmade on arrival with blood-stained sheets left for us to fit, broken curtains, pile of poo on balcony, noise overnight like I have never heard in a resort before- the list goes on. We have left after 1 night of our booked 7 night stay as it is simply not good enough and not what you expect of a Pierre et Vacances resort. I have already submitted a formal complaint. Not good…..

Great stay. Apartment comfortable. Good quality per value. Good service. Great activity program, particularly hikes around the Esterel with Sebastian, and exercise classes. Swimming pool was very well heated. Pizzas from Là Calanquaise excellent. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Shaby apartment with loose door handles and mini-moo bathroom, ridiculously small for four (and meant for 5!) with a ‘bed’ on which it’s impossible to sleep without banging your head. Music from L’ecole du cirque nearby guaranteed until 23:00PM with no apologies: you can book activities with l’Ecole du cirque (making you think there is a kind of partnership between the two, so things like noise level can be negotiated) but when it comes to aforementioned noise level being way too high and going on while you try to sleep: “L’Ecole du cirque is independent and has nothing to do with Pierre et vacances”. What a joke!!!! There is no airco in the rooms either and if you try to sleep on your balcony to get some fresh air, be aware that your neighbours are allowed to speak until any time of the night and of course smoke (cigar included) as they wish! We’re in the 21st century but Pierre et Vacances has not yet integrated the concept of “No Noise after 23:00pm” and a no smoking policy on the balconies while creating smoking areas FAR from where people live and sleep. People and kids shout on the streets when going back to their accommodation at night, some hairs were found on two pillows when we arrived, music and entertainment is a must of the village until 23:00 (too bad if you have a migraine that night!). I was very nostalgic of Pierre et Vacances, which my parents booked to go skiing when I was a child. This experience has cured me of my nostalgia for good. Fortunately, the staff is friendly. That makes me feel a bit better. Ps: Pierre et Vacances please pass on this comment to L’Ecole du Cirque so that next year they may think of starting earlier…. And finish earlier too!!

The views are amazing… and that’s all that is good about the hotel… the rooms are small and stuffy, no sun beds - expect a week of sitting on the floor. The lifeguards are fun sponges. Expect 7-8 enforcing your sun bathing. The shops refuse to refund or exchange faulty items… we purchased a faulty snorkel and the rude woman pretended to be a manager and despite me pointing out French consumer law, refused and was derogatory towards English people . They sell things in the shop that aren’t even allowed to be used in the pool. you are isolated here so no options but to use the overpriced run down facilities and shops. The entire pool area smells of sewage. A week of sitting on the grass. Don’t waste your money.
