AVOID AT ALL COSTS - One of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at. We checked in to our city view room and found out there was no hot water or no city view. They never addressed the city view, but said they didn’t know when the hot water would be back on. We asked for a refund and booked into another hotel. They never gave a refund there and then and made some excuse up as to why they could not do it, but promised to do so. The money never arrived. The ‘city view’ room looked out to another building. The room was dated and jaded. The manager hid in the office and let the receptionist do all the apologising. If you want a stress free hotel, then don’t stay here, it’s a joke and a con. I’ve never stayed in a hotel without hot water before. Please read the other reviews too of the bad experiences other guests have had to face!

Excellent value hotel. Attractive art deco building with spacious bedroom and attentive service from friendly staff who were keen to engage in conversation with us. Good choice of restaurants close by (relevant on Sunday evening when hotel restaurant was closed). Secure parking.

I simply don’t know where to begin. This place is a disaster with a facade of cool and luxury on the outside and on the inside.. it’s FAWLTY TOWERS. The only reason I am taking the time to write this review is because of the hardworking staff. If not for them, this shambles of a hotel, would not be much. Let’s start with check in.. one, yes, ONE, staff member, running the WHOLE hotel solo, check in, answering phones, running to the bar and the beck and call of all the hotel guests. But wait.. there’s more.. she was also trying to conduct interviews with the three ladies waiting on the foyer - new recruits (no surprises here). We arrive to our, inter-connecting rooms to find the doors closed and a bedside drawer and chair in the way.. we manoeuvre the furniture ourselves so as not to bother said solo staff member downstairs. Upon entering the main room, we notice one of the single sides to the king bed is seriously drooping into the middle. Not to worry, I’m exhausted, it will be fine. Mistake.. I did not sleep well for the entire stay. We call to have ice delivered to the room, we would like to chill our warm wine we’ve bought and the very small fridges do not have room for wine bottles of any kind and are filled with a few bottles of complimentary water and snacks to purchase. We wait… whilst waiting … we discover, only paper cups in the entire room. So I head downstairs so as not to have to call solo worker, rather, O’Brien glasses for wine, ice bucket and tea cups for morning / paper cups and wooden stirrers only provided! Oh, and, no milk! After a horrendous sleep in the sloping bed and extremely loud AC.. we head out for the day, tidying our room for the cleaner, placing towels on the floor and pulling back the quilts of the bed to display said slope in case anyone wants to take time to fix it. We are out for 8 hours. Upon our return, our rooms have not been make up except for bins emptied. I am bemused… why? “Because I did not place the card on the bed to chafe the sheets”. Okay.. but I have never, in my, hundreds of hotel room stays, ever seen such an excuse for not at least making the bed. When questioned, the excuse given was I had items on the bed.. this was not the case. I had our personal pillows and that is all. Frustrated, we need wine! Ha, but alas, the ice machine is broken and there is no ice madam. We drink warm wine, fall into sloping bed and listen to the AC drumming all night. We wake with little sleep. I need to iron my clothes, mademoiselle brings me the iron, but no board. “We do not have a board” ..???!! What?! How am I supposed to iron? “On the table madam, this is the French way” ….. we head out for the day with a promise and guarantee our room will be serviced. We are gone for 5 hours 1-6pm. We return again to an unmade room. The cleaners, two young women who look to be contracted, have been too busy. We are told they can come now.. desperate for a good night’s sleep, I guide them to the room and ask them to simp

I think we have to deal with the worst hotel disaster that this one is never known. A disastrous, icy welcome.. you France you are renowned for being warm I think the weather outside was better. Breakfast was also in line with our chaotic stay. We sincerely ask the management of this establishment to take the necessary measures to improve the service of this hotel. We do not recommend

We stayed at Le Picardy hotel for one night on the way back from Strasbourg and it was below expectations. Following is the summary of the good and not so good points of the hotel/apartments. The good: 1) The staff were extremely good and helpful. From the team at reception to the staff at the restaurant, everyone was customer oriented and ready to help. 2) The parking was conveniently located across the street in front of the hotel. 3) On site restaurant for a convenient meal especially if you've had a long day. The food was ok too. 4) Pet friendly rooms and public areas. The not so good: 1) The rooms and bathroom was extremely dated. The lighting was not sufficient and didn't cover enough of the areas in the room. 2) The air conditioner was noisy like an old truck and kept stopping in the middle of the night even after we put it to max speed leaving the room warm. 3) Breakfast was abysmal. Don't understand how they justify charging €12 each for just bread, croissants and eggs (no sausages, bacon or any hot meats). The coffee machine dispensing the a single type of coffee and juices from a box. 4) Think the room was prepared in a hurry as there was no toilet tissue, no hand wash or a soap to clean hands. The kettle doesn't switch on so no hot water for a coffee in the morning. 5) We booked a room with City view and the city view was someone else's living room. 6) Believe the star system for hotels is not working properly in this case as the room was not fit even for a 2 star but the hotel is rated 4 star per the plaque in front. Think the bad points go above the good service by the staff here so can only give a one star.

What can one say? It’s a perfectly acceptable, modernised city hotel with friendly staff and a car park opposite! The aircon system, in the room we had, was right next to the bed at about waist height and despite having it blasting away all night it made very little impression on the temperature of the room. Its noise, on the other hand, made quite an impression on one's ability to sleep through it! We got the distinct impression we should have had breakfast earlier than 9:30 because there was very little left in the cold cabinet and the scrambled eggs, in the heater, looked to be fried to the base of the container. To give them their due they did get some made freshly for us.

Hotel Le Picardy is a stylish Art Deco hotel, recently refurbished. The Staff are a delight - young, friendly and very helpful. The hotel is centred around an atrium with a central lift. Our bedroom was large, with a huge bed, a modern, but classical bathroom with a separate loo. The bath/shower was also large. There was a massive tv with Netflicks and loads of channels but sadly we could not get it to work - had we asked the staff I am sure we would have been watching something. The breakfast was a buffet with all the usual things - juice, fruit, yogurt, cheese, ham and sausage as well as a freshly cooked omlette of our choice. Three small gripes - the bath needs a bath mat, it is too big to just step out of, the pot plants on the roof were all dead (understandable after the summer we have just had) and finally the fan on the roof had a squeak which was annoying because it was on all night. Sadly for the hotel the main road through the town had lots of empty shops which gave the town a rather post industrial feel, however it should be said that the town was litter free and the shops and cafes that were there were very friendly and welcoming. A pleasant stop off on the journey south.

We had a great experience at this hotel. The receptionist was so welcoming and service amazing. Just a short stop over on way to Switzerland but was heart warming ( from a very discerning couple!). Thank you for the unexpected delight! We will be back
