Ibis Styles Saint-Quentin

I’m getting really fed up with the Ibis chain. We used to go to the one in Coquelles near Calais and it used to feel like such a treat with lots of toiletries, great room and onsite restaurant. Now Ibis are very clearly cutting back. This latest one - apparently a Styles - was dreadful. Netflix button didn’t work. Loo roll holder was broken and only one and a quarter rolls of poor quality paper provided. No hand towels. No tea/coffee facilities despite being advertised - free drinks are downstairs in breakfast room so my poor husband had to walk down two flights of stairs in his pyjamas to get us a cup of coffee in the morning. Breakfast corner is tiny and not fit for purpose as only about three people can get anything at one time. Food is bite sized and croissants are doll sized too. One apple with bruise which looked like it had been there a while. I asked for a fresh one but were told none were available. Cracked glass No one staffing the bar at 8 pm Location is dreadful- half hour bus ride to get to St Quentin but the last bus back is 8pm! Hotel parking is advertised as secure but there’s a note on the door telling you to empty your car as it’s apparently not secure after all. Sink and shower don’t drain properly

An Ok hotel, we used as a stop over for travelling further south in France. Its about 2 hours from Calais. Room was small but was fine for sleeping Breakfast was nice. There was no dinner on offer from what I could see so we used Uber Eats

Nice hotel just north of the city very close to a few industrial zones with shops and eateries. Gated car park, rooms clean with big screen tv small desk space with a chair. Spotless en suite with a shower. Breakfast was continental but more than enough and very varied and tasty.

We arrived Sunday midday this Kyriad hotel is in a good place,easy to find off the A26,if you want to walk to the town centre it's about 30 minutes away.It is very careworn,we had room 122 and the doors had the laminate chipped off,the house keeping is not that great,the corridor leading to the room had splashes of what looked like bleach along the carpet and the stairwell was untidy.Its a shame because with a bit of an upgrade this could be a really comfortable stop over.This is the issue with this chain of hotels,we have stayed at several in France and you go from the excellent hotel in Troyes to the awful hotel in Laon,this seems to be in the middle and is really in need of a refit.

Just what I wanted, and needed. I booked a room at Saint Quentin to break a long journey, leaving me a short drive to the Tunnel. I arrived late evening and tired. The check in was helpful and sympathetic, the room just exactly what I wanted and a short walk to a Buffalo Grill (US Franchise I am sure) for a simple supper before bed. Breakfast was simple but great (coffee, pastries and bread rolls all excellent) and set me up for the last 450mile drive home. I will be back.
