Great stay
Great small hotel in perfect location facing the bay, convenient to restaurants, museums, etc. yet also very quiet. Staff very friendly and helpful with any questions. Fastest valet parking service I've ever seen. Would definitely stay again if returning to ST. Pete. Roger

Perfect location on Beach Drive for the Grand Prix. Spacious room, especially for an older hotel. Walking distance to all the great restaurants. Hotel staff was so pleasant and accommodating. We hope to be able to secure a room here again next year for the race.
The only down side is that with the bar down stairs and rooftop bar upstairs, it can be a bit noisy at night, but nothing ear plugs can’t help with.

Nice stay
The hotel is a cute boutique hotel very conveniently located in the heart of downtown. That being said l, there was no view whatsoever from our room, we overlooked an indoor courtyard which was very loud at night. The room itself was spacious and clean but the beds could use some updating as they creaked loudly with the slightest movement. Free breakfast was minimal. The rooftop lounge had a great happy hour. Overall we were happy with the stay as the location can’t be beat.

Pleasant stay but bad breakfast
Fantastic hotel with amazing service. Great bar too. Was impressed by everything except the “breakfast buffet”. A few pastries in bags and lukewarm coffee. Literally attached to a restaurant but didn’t have hot food or coffee on a Sunday morning during season.

We have stayed at Birchwood in the past quite a few times. The last time we noticed the property had gone down hill. The shower basically trickled and the lighting is very dim in the bathroom. The mattresses need replaced also.
We had hoped things had been improved but it was not the case. The shower barely sprayed and the lighting is still very dim in the bathroom.
