This is the perfect location in the city to stay. It is the ideal balance between the Hermitage, Nevsky, the river, St Issacs, Mariinsky. We could walk to every single attraction if we wanted to. The room itself we were in (the biggest) was probably the largest single city hotel room I have stayed in (though it did have a curtain to divide in two so 3-4 peopel could stay there. The room was clean and warm and tastefully decorated. Motlon Brown shower products were a plus. Breakfast is continental with scrambled / boiled eggs made for you. Breakfast food and soft drinks are available throughout the day, so you could make yourself a cup of tea and a piece of toast to warm up in the afternoon - all included in the price of your room! Free international calls to landlines from your room was also a first for me in a city hotel. Staff were very friendly - they made restaurant reservations for us (you must eat at Teplo - only 5 minutes walk away on the other side of St. Issacs). No problem in leaving bags for the day and then coming back for tea and toast before our train to Moscow!
