The hotel impresses with its cleanliness, friendly staff, and delicious breakfast. Guests enjoy the peaceful location, stunning harbor views, and comfortable rooms with balconies. However, some may find it lacking variety.

We only stayed one night, and it was a last minute booking as we missed our ferry, so it is hard to fully judge the hotel. The room was spacious and had a great view, but it was slightly disturbing to spot a couple pieces of trash on the balcony, including a muselet. The breakfast was decent enough, though I prefer a buffet to waiter-service for breakfast and the restaurant was the quietest one I have ever been in. The Channel Islands seem to specialize in staff who are grumpy and truculent, and this hotel seems to have collected some of the worst examples - as one example, we wandered through an open door into an empty space, looking for the reception when we first arrived and were barked at by two members of staff.

We booked this as a last minute 5 night break and were allocated one of the deluxe rooms with balcony and bath in the newer part of the hotel. The room and the en suite bathroom were spacious. Excellent views over the harbour and to Sark and Herm. An easy walk into town. Shortcut back via steepish steps. All staff were polite and helpful. Food was superb!

Lets start with the plus points - great location and views, excellent restaurant and quality food. We had 5 nights in a 'Deluxe' room 103 which was what we would describe as a typical English seaside hotel room and far below what we would expect from a 4* hotel and definitely not as shown and advertised on the website. Old-fashioned and dated. Good size, yes, and nice balcony, but a truly awful bathroom with a really noisy electric shower over a narrow bath that struggled to deliver a decent amount of water. The bath has seen better days as had the mirror and dated basin. Even the loo struggled to flush properly and usually needed flushing twice. Nowhere to put anything and somewhat impractical. The room itself has no safe, no shelves in the old fashioned wardrobe, no fridge and a small TV on an old fashioned chest of drawers. The noise from the creaky floor from the room above was ridiculous and was evident any time anyone moved anywhere in that room. Overall, extremely disappointing and spoiled what was otherwise a lovely holiday. For £300 per night in a 4* hotel compared with many we have stayed in, it was not good value.

Very comfortable, well located hotel with friendly helpful staff. Restaurant had great views and the food and service was excellent. I can particularly recommend the breakfasts and we enjoyed the evening meal so much that we used the restaurant on two occasions over a 3 day stay. Comfortable bedrooms, again with a great view.

Recently returned from a four day stay at this wonderful hotel. Stayed in the new wing rooms which are large and have a small balcony with amazing views across the Harbour. All staff excellent, friendly and very professional. Nothing was too much trouble. Very clean hotel, and comfortable bed, and housekeeping very attentive. We ate breakfast and dinner every day in the lovely dining room, which again has amazing views of harbour, town and Castle. The food was top quality, and absolutely delicious. The hotel has a very talented Chef and kitchen staff. Delicious, well presented food was served to us by the lovely Waiting staff who made us feel at home. The hotel is very close to Candie Gardens, which is on a hill. There is a lower gate, not far from the hotel, which gives easier access to Candie Gardens. Richard will tell you where this is. We are both mobile in our 70’s, and managed the hotel’s private path, leading from the bar, which has some staggered steps in places, directly down to the town. This boutique hotel is well run, small and quiet, which suited us well. Thank you all for a lovely stay. We cannot wait to return.

We chose this hotel for a 6-night stay in Guernsey. Very pleased with our choice, as this is a lovely hotel. Very elegantly decorated throughout. Although it only has 22 rooms, the public areas are spacious. Our room was lovely, with a balcony looking out over the harbour & the other islands. Service was courteous, impeccable, professional & understated. Breakfast & dinner were both lovely, beautifully presented & with plenty of vegetarian choices. The hotel is on a hill, as most of the best ones here seem to be, so although the steps into town are manageble, someone with mobility issues might struggle to get back up!

Arrived back home yesterday after a wonderful stay at the La Fregate Hotel. What a lovely place this is. We stayed for 4 nights and were given room 114, this room was very special, which fitted well with us as we were celebrating our Golden Wedding Anniversary. The views from our balcony were of the harbour and were amazing, a perfect place to relax with a glass of wine. We only had one evening meal in the hotel on our first night (as we had pre-arranged to eat out for our other evening meals in other local restaurants) The restaurant in the Hotel was a superb experience the food was very well cooked and delicious. The same has to be said for the breakfast. The restaurant staff are very professional, friendly, which made our stay even more special. The whole team has a very welcoming attitude and makes people feel very at home. To name but a few we have to give a special mention to the following Richard and Riham on reception, and Ruth in the office. We were looked after by Walter the restaurant manager, Rishab and Abdul and others we have not mentioned, but they make a great team and they all looked after us very well. We had some nice conversations with Simon Dufty the General Manager who was always around to help and advise to make sure that all was good for the guests. We were so happy with our stay and could not make fault of anything, well done the team at La Fregate See you all next year !! Jackie and Terry Devine.

Chose this hotel to spend the week celebrating our Golden anniversary. Reviews and pics portrayed our idyllic place to Stay. Not Disappointed From the first contact of booking , and our arrival at reception greeted by the warmth and pleasantry of Richard and Riham we felt welcomed chilled and relaxed . We felt pampered when shown to our room 114 which was spotless , well maintained and presented with a modern but traditional luxurious feel. Twin aspect balcony’s , east facing with table and chairs providing sunshine best part of the day ideal for morning coffee and afternoon G &T’s watching all the comings and going’s of the harbour traffic , for which reception were on hand to supply a copious supply of ice to complete the experience. The second south facing , a walkon balcony to enjoy more spectacular views of St Peter port harbour evening life. We nicknamed it the penthouse. Breakfast options were great , full English , to continental and all the others , smoked salmon , omelettes, eggs Benedict etc in between , All courteously served by the restaurant staff. Walter , and his crew Rishab , Abdul, Mahfur, Raj, Yvonne and Eve. All deserving of a mention by name for their courtesy and proficiency.. I missed the Chefs names who should also deserve a special mention for providing fabulous evening meals , exceptionally presented and equally delicious . Fish , lobster meat whatever we chose was fabulous. As were the wine selections. To top it off the weather was exceptionally kind to us spent all week in shirt sleeves and donning sun cream. Trips to Herm and Sark added to our enjoyment of walks around the islands sucking up the scenery and pleasantry’s offered by the locals with a warm hello , or passing greetings of the time of day . All in all a fabulous holiday week celebrating our special occasion. Great choice of destination , and exceptional hotel . Thank you Simon. Thanks to all of you for making our special occasion , all we could have wished for. Hope to return someday, and do it all again. Kind regards to all Andy & Lin.
