Property Description
The Best Western Hotel de Havelet is the perfect place to stay in Guernsey, perched on a hill on the outskirts of the capital, St Peter Port. With an easy downhill walk into town, youll be close to the attractions, yet a world away from the hustle and bustle. The hotel - an attractive Georgian house with an attractive sheltered garden and flower filled terraces - offers peace and quiet as well as amazing scenery. With beautiful views from the restaurants of the harbor, Castle Cornet and neighboring islands, there’s more than enough to feast your eyes upon. Being perfectly located for St Peter Port, it’s convenient for ferry terminals to Portsmouth, French ports and neighboring Jersey. A wonderful holiday destination, this lovely Guernsey hotel has much to offer guests who enjoy walking. The attractive south coast cliff paths are just five minutes away and you can also choose a ‘Tasty Walk’ – a series of 18 self-guided walks designed to take in the best of the island’s stunning scenery and fabulous food. The narrow streets and lanes of St. Peter Port are also full of interest, and Hauteville House - the Channel Island home of novelist, Victor Hugo whilst in exile - is also located near to Hotel de Havelet. If you’re the active and energetic type, why not try kayaking around the coves on the south coast? Alternatively, charter a boat and go on a voyage around the island, where you will spot seals, puffins and more around the rugged coastlines of the Bailiwick. If you’d rather stay close to this excellent hotel near St Peter Port, we offer a heated swimming pool, with French windows onto our sheltered patio for sunbathing - plus sauna, Jacuzzi® and steam room to help you fully relax. In fact, this wonderfully welcoming Guernsey hotel is the perfect place to recharge your batteries – whether you’re staying here for business or pleasure.

I booked this hotel by preference following on from my previous stay here in February. I cannot fault it. Lovely comfortable room. Food fabulous. Staff attentive. Special acknowledgement to Ceser, Alexandro, Pitcha, and Luca for one but ALL staff are fantastic. Definitely recommend this hotel. I will return.

Staff absolutely fantastic. Restaurant food was on Parr with the best. Felt really looked after As a wheelchair user they made sure that the room they gave us met my needs. It was lovely and big and very clean Was set in a lovely position you could see the harbour from the restaurant. They have a small bus which you can use free of charge

We spent 4 days at the De Havelet and we can recommend it. The location, room and Staff were all lovely. The food at breakfast was excellent with a good choice, although we didn't eat there in the evening I am sure it would have been lovely too. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We have been visiting for 16 years and are never disappointed. Gennaro and his team provide a wonderful experience. The hotel is constantly updating and redecorating and standards are always high. Everyone is so friendly, service is excellent and food is delicious.

A most welcoming hotel run expertly by Italian hosts. The rooms are very clean with some more accessible than others. Best to give them a ring to find out. The spa area with a big indoor pool and good sauna (though a little small) are very clean and the gardens are beautiful with plenty of sun loungers. Take afternoon tea in the garden or on the large terrace. The adjacent restaurant, Wellington, is separate to the hotel, though again most of the Italian staff have worked there for many years. The food is superb. The breakfast of the hotel is taken upstairs in the Wellington Restaurant. You have to climb some very steep and winding stairs which cannot be done by people with any disabilities. Though if you ask the head waiter he may allow you to take breakfast in the downstairs restaurant. Breakfasts are stupendous. The hotel is on a steep hill which makes going into St Peter Port easy, but by gosh, climbing up back to the hotel can be a challenge. Ask the hotel, they may run a shuttle bus a couple of times a day.

We’ve stayed in a few Best Western hotels, both in the UK & USA, the Hotel de Havelet has got to be the best one by a country mile. Our room was spotlessly clean with the deep bath & mini fridge being a great bonus. The food in the Copenhagen bar & grill is first class a real credit to the chef’s. All the staff which we had the pleasure of meeting were & are excellent, looking forward to our return visit.

my partner and I spent a four-day break at Hotel de Havelet last week. The room what light, spacious and ideal for a quiet break. Delightful and dedicated staff who all gave their smiling best to their customers. The Restaurant is superb and we cannot fault any aspect of our visit. We will return!
