Duke of Normandie
4.1/541 Reviews
Regardless of your reason for travel, when staying at a hotel, a decent night sleep is priority. Unfortunately room 31 at the Duke of Normandie couldn’t offer that. There is a toilet used in the restaurant on the other side of a thin wall right by your head as you try to relax or sleep. Whether that is staff or public I’m unsure but banging, flushing and conversations late into the evening make it hard to settle. The 2 singles pushed together do drift apart but this could be due to being disturbed through the night. The WiFi in that room shows but unable to connect but did work well in the restaurant. Smokers from other rooms congregate between the rooms and car park and due to the shape of the building, voices echo through the room, which is especially annoying when they are up through the night. The restaurant and staff on hotel reception were pleasant and welcoming. Room was clean and spacious (for a compact double) I sadly won’t be staying here again when travelling to the island as I need a better night sleep.

Best Western Hotel de Havelet
4.5/541 Reviews
Returned home on Tuesday from a 6 day break, we had read many excellent reviews for the de Havelet and was not disappointed on our arrival. We decided to upgrade the room and that was well worth it. Large bedroom with excellent on suite (double sink), bed was a good size and WiFi excellent . The staff were extremely attentive and nothing was to much bother. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices for continental and cooked, service was very good with the waiting staff always close at hand and helpful. Breakfast was taken every day in the Wellington bar on the 1st floor of the building across the courtyard. We had dinner 3 times in the Copenhagen resturant which is on the ground floor in the building across the courtyard. A excellent menu which had many tasty dishes all cooked in a open kitchen which was visible by all the diners. The pool although not large 15mts was excellent which we walked down from our room in our bath robes. In addition to the pool there was also a jacuzzi, steam room & sauna, excellent facilities. The de Havelet hotel is certainly one I would recommend with out a doubt. After all these plentiful meals you could walk down the fairly steep hill to the sea front. During our stay we also had supper in the Thomas De La Rue pub and The Cornerstone pub, both of these had very good food and beer.
La Fregate Hotel
4.4/535 Reviews
Arrived back home yesterday after a wonderful stay at the La Fregate Hotel. What a lovely place this is. We stayed for 4 nights and were given room 114, this room was very special, which fitted well with us as we were celebrating our Golden Wedding Anniversary. The views from our balcony were of the harbour and were amazing, a perfect place to relax with a glass of wine. We only had one evening meal in the hotel on our first night (as we had pre-arranged to eat out for our other evening meals in other local restaurants) The restaurant in the Hotel was a superb experience the food was very well cooked and delicious. The same has to be said for the breakfast. The restaurant staff are very professional, friendly, which made our stay even more special. The whole team has a very welcoming attitude and makes people feel very at home. To name but a few we have to give a special mention to the following Richard and Riham on reception, and Ruth in the office. We were looked after by Walter the restaurant manager, Rishab and Abdul and others we have not mentioned, but they make a great team and they all looked after us very well. We had some nice conversations with Simon Dufty the General Manager who was always around to help and advise to make sure that all was good for the guests. We were so happy with our stay and could not make fault of anything, well done the team at La Fregate See you all next year !! Jackie and Terry Devine.
St. Pierre Park Hotel & Golf

Firstly, all the positives but, unfortunately ending with a negative. On arrival, I was greeted by a friendly and efficient receptionist. Booking in was very easy and I was given a map of the island and a booklet of things to see and do. My room is very clean and spacious with a queen size bed, furniture, sufficient storage, lovely bathroom with bath/shower and complimentary bathroom items. Kettle, tea, coffee milk etc are also in the room. Balcony with 2 chairs and a table. LG tv with remote. Everyone is helpful, friendly, efficient and courteous, from the restaurant staff, bar staff and housekeeping. Choice of food is extensive for breakfast and dinner. None of this buffet stuff, it is all table service . Well equipped bar with bar meals which are excellent. However, I do have a negative. I have a balcony with 2 chairs and a table. There is also a 9 hole golf course close to the hotel with driving range and putting green. The downside is that I am not allowed to have a cigarette on the balcony. If I do, I will be subject to a £100 fine. I feel that this is a violation of my human rights and that the hotel is prejudiced against smokers. Throughout my travels around the world, with my late wife and now just myself, we/I always had/have a room with a balcony. On that balcony there were 2 chairs, a table and an ashtray. When I had a cigarette, I ensured that the doors were closed to avoid the smell of the smoke entering the bedroom. I have never smoked in the house, always outside in a separate building. As stated, the positives outweigh the negative but I still feel aggrieved that we, as smokers, are being victimised. Overall, an enjoyable stay but that one thing is why I awarded 4 stars on my review.
