Convenient location near Saint Nectaire, with easy parking and natural beauty nearby. Praise for homemade breakfast options and service. However, some guests found the prices high compared to the quality of service.

Don't be fooled by the pictures of the pool this is the rear of the hotel. The road side faces a long time derelict possibly an hotel. The approach from the car park to the entrance of the hotel is along a fairly busy road, the ground floor windows are obviously never cleaned, dirty and covered in cobwebs. Our room was roadside facing the derelict building. With the windows open the noise from passing trucks was horrendous, with them shut the room was stuffy. No air conditioning. We asked to have dinner on our first night the menu had about 5 entrees and 5 main my wife asked for the tomato salad but was told there were no tomatoes, in France in August? She then asked for the truite again no truite, I ordered a bottle of red and they brought a bottle of rosé. We didn't eat there again . Two minutes away a fantastic restaurant Les Baladins but you need to reserve. Possibly the worst hotel we have ever stayed in.bad .

Hotel where I used to stay several times 15 years ago when traveling to Spain. It was very good back then so it made us go back this year. Although parts of the hotel may use an update, the hotel itself is very good and clean. + friendly staff + not too far away from the highway + beautiful region (perfect for a stay of 2-3 nights) + wide variety of choice during breakfast + own free parking lot next to the hotel + parkview = the best (quiet and a lot of trees) + clean + Saint-Nectaire = very cozy - restaurant opens late in the evening (too late for younger children) - rooms are really really small when staying with a family of 4 in a family room The restaurant doesn't serve aligot anymore which is a pity because they used to make it very good.

2 stars instead of 1 because the regular staff were really nice but this hotel was really disappointing for us. The hotel leads with pictures of the outdoor pool but that was closed for the all of our visit apart from the last few hours. Reading other reviews, the outdoor pool has been unusable due to poor maintenance for a long while. This was the main reason we booked this hotel. I asked for modest compensation of a complementary continental breakfast, this was refused by the manager through her junior staff. To add insult to injury, the restaurant was unavailable due to a private function. Again, advertised a restaurant but not available both nights we were there. This hotel could be much better ..run down feeling, mediocre management.

Stayed one night here and that was enough. This was an overnight stop to break up a long drive. We checked in just around dinner time, the check-in staff was very impersonal, key and room number and sent us on our way, very uninformative about the hotel and area. We put our bags in our room and then went to the hotel restaurant to have dinner at the hotel restaurant. We were greeted by a hostess who asked us if we had a reservation. We had not reserved but the restaurant well into dinner time was only a fraction full. We were turned away, no service without a reservation, the hostess, a very unpleasant young girl just walked away huffing that the front staff should have informed us of the restaurant policy. So here we are in a small town, with no idea how to get dinner, no suggestions or help from the hotel. Fortunately, we were able to find one restaurant in the town just down the street from the hotel that was open. The local restaurant was very busy but we were able to get a table and endure a meal in a much nicer environment than the sad restaurant at the hotel (so in the end we were lucky that eating at the hotel wasn't possible. The room at the hotel was simple but clean enough. No air conditioning which was not great. Hotel breakfast was at the restaurant that had turned us away the night before, the breakfast was very unappetizing (we again felt lucky having not been served the previous night). We had initially planned to spend the morning at the hotel to go to the spa and relax but in the end decided to check out early and just cut our loses. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for anything more than a basic roof over their heads. This hotel was well over priced for the service and what they offer. Well below any Mercure hotel I have stayed in the past.

Stayed for just one night here. The hotel is rather dated and not in keeping with other Mercure hotels. Rooms have a musty / old smell. No air conditioning. Corridors are very old and desperately require repainting. Staff were pleasant and the rates are reasonable. Good location for saint nectaire with free local parking nearby.

Hotel was fine for what we needed, ie touring the Auvergne, but it just felt a bit unloved. We went to the restaurant over the road for breakfast which was a lot cheaper. Friendly staff. The gardens could have been made a lot nicer as it all looked as though nothing had been done to them for ages
