It was disappointing to see that the restaurant was already closed on 3 October 2022 and that only the food trailer was open. I am expecting more from a premium place like St. Moritz. The menu at the food trailer wasn't really great. 1/2 chicken with french fries, fried tofu, sandwiches etc. isn't really what most of the people are expecting. But they charged CHF 7 for a bottle of Möhl cider. Additionally, there was no playground for the kids although this is shown on the webpage of the restaurant. The good thing is that there are sufficient picnic spots with fireplaces nearby.

The restaurant has new operators and a new concept since this season. A menu is now only available on the upper floor (formerly the club terrace). On the first floor, only an afternoon tea-style étagère with sweet and salty snacks is offered at a price of around CHF 40. During our spontaneous midday visit in January outside the high season, all tables on the upper floor were reserved. We had only the choice between an étagère or looking for another restaurant. We opted for the latter and had an excellent meal at Chesa al Parc at the Kulm Hotel in St.Moritz instead. The concept of Afternoon Tea fits a grand hotel, but completely misses the mark for a rustic restaurant. Too bad about the beautiful location. Hopefully this strange concept will be eliminated soon. Only then will we visit the restaurant again.

My wife and I - regular visitors to the restaurant for years - were looking forward to a delicious lunch on August 3, 2023 at 1:15 p.m. when we arrived. There were 7 or 8 tables left, some of them uncovered. For 10 minutes, no one from the staff, who often went in and out empty-handed, took any interest in us. Then a gentleman in a white shirt came and asked if we had reserved, which we said no. His answer: "Wait a moment." We waited another five minutes. Then an employee appeared, openly displaying his unwillingness to work, and said in a harsh tone "in an hour!" We decided not to - who wants to order a three-course meal at 2:30 p.m.? Apparently business is going so well that there is no longer any need to treat long-standing guests in a friendly and decent manner. We draw the consequences - what a shame!

Absolute disgrace what is on offer up there! We live in Pontresina and are locals. We love Lake Statzersee! Unfortunately, this phenomenon can be observed everywhere in the Engadine, such as in the Statzersee restaurant and snack bar. First. The prices are an absolute disgrace. For example: a bratwurst with bread for twelve francs or homemade iced tea 50cl for eight francs. The prices are one thing, the experience is further marred by the incompetent and unfriendly staff. In retrospect, we are grateful that the staff was so unfriendly, so we turned around straight away and didn't leave a single franc behind. Because every franc you leave there is one too many.

At the Lej da Staz Kiosk, we nibbled on a portion of fries and the cake of the day (red fruits with crumble): completely oily fries undoubtedly frozen and cake with a pronounced rancid taste. The place is beautiful but what we ate was really bad. We won't come back to that.

Only possible outside, expensive food, loveless, long waiting time, hardly any seating, food was already cold - on January 1st, 2023. It's a shame... We were regulars at the restaurant, it was delicious and cozy, but the snack bar won't see us anymore. No advantage over a picnic from a backpack!

It's not the same anymore... it's now divided into whether you eat warm food on the first floor, cake sandwiches downstairs and soups etc. in the takeaway... it's a shame... they were regulars until now... that's it. We were really disappointed

The walk and the ambience at Lej da Staz is always an experience. However, it's a shame how the restaurant has developed. Completely overpriced. Despite wine and food, paying 48.- for 4 liters of tap water... that just can't be the case. Just a shame...

Since the new leadership, every year has become a bit more arrogant and worse. Without the beautiful nature there would be no reason to come here. It's a shame for the destination St. Moritz. We recommend the nearby Meierei restaurant or a picnic at the lake in summer
